Breakfast ok staff helpful
It was a very noisy room a boiler beside was extreamly noisy even though I was tired from traveling I did not sleep a wink there was lipstick on the bathroom walls and on floors therfore it had not been cleaned doors of cupboards were falling off
Staff were very welcoming, breakfast was good, hotel was toasty warm.
There was a wedding at the hotel when we stayed and we could not have a hot meal as the kitchen was busy with the wedding. Sunday morning breakfast was only served until 9.30 am
Plenty of parking space. Close proximity to our wedding venue. Nice exterior to buildings, and decent sized grounds.
The room was very basic, and decorative wise it looked rather tired. No tissues in room (small thing, but for the price we paid, I'd expect them). Breakfast was very disorganised. Waiting more than 5 minutes for a clean plate, and then longer for food.
location view from room
very thin walls unable to sleep - snoring from next door etc.
Very clean facilities and lovely staff
No room service however! Slightly dated but clean nonetheless.
The check-in staff were friendly and efficient. breakfast was brilliant
The barman drove me crazy with incessant chat and you had no beer worth drinking
Building, rooms, decor, furniture very tired. It needs a major update.
Fabulous welcoming and friendly staff in a hotel with old world charm set in beautiful surroundings. Good varied, great value menu for a very nice dining experience. Very well presented room and comfy bed and the only disturbance was an owl hooting at 3am, absolutely fantastic!
Free wi-fi in the communal area but not in the room!
The staff were helpful and friendly. Location was good and room was clean and tidy. The bed in my room was very soft
The restaurant, dinner and breakfast was very average.
Very welcoming and excellent service. We were travelling with 2 dogs and had no problems , they were well received.
Great ground floor room with plenty of space but we had to have a window open as it was warm and the Hotel had a wedding the following day with guests arriving in the early hours. The parking area is gravel which makes it noisy for cars . Bit disturbing but did not ruin our stay.
Balcony and view from our room! Beautiful gardens! Staff were friendly!
Over priced, poor quality of food and drink
Noisy machinery outside.
The room 14 the door was difficult to get in, when mentioned to the receptionist she said that someone had broken into the door and they never fixed it properly. I didn't think that was appropriate response, also the toilet handle was almost falling off. The cups were not cleaned properly they looked like that had just been put under the tap. Breakfast was cold .
Staff were excellent. Well presented and friendly.
Food in the oak room was of poor standard. Gammon was actually a slice of ham. Chocolate brownie was rock hard with no chocolate sauce. For this reason we only had dinner once in house and did not risk the breakfasts.
Lovely building in a lovely setting, perfect for weddings which I understand are popular here. The hotel is a little quirky which I found refreshing.
We saw a few rooms in the hotel, all of which looked lovely, spacious and light but unfortunately our room (no 11) was small and quite dark. There was also a hair grip and sweet wrapper on the floor when we arrived (room was clean otherwise). Not helped by discovering another guest had been offered a free upgrade from booking.com that day to the bridal suite which was huge! As a booking.com account holder and genius who has never been offered any kind of deal or upgrade I was a little miffed! I would stay here again but would ask for a different room next time.
pillow and bed too soft, but ok for one night.
The room ! Staff were friendly !
The bar ! Not a lot of selection of drinks ! Not a lot of choice on the menu's ! WiFi free only in public area's !
friendly staff nice surroundings
over priced, very poor breakfast
We had a room with a four poster bed which was really comfortable. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The hotel itself was unique and a bit quirky but loved it.
It was a bit fawlty towers like but that's why we liked it some people might not.
Didn't really like anything
Breakfast tasted like fat , only one person cooking and serving for the money we paid it was a rip off, not happy
very friendly staff lovely breakfast
Very helpful staff and well maintained rooms. Good breakfast.
Need to provide fans as no air conditioning.
