Location and grounds. Loud Wedding in progress took over hotel, no warning given prior to stay. Rooms vary varied in standard, tired decoration, bed uncomfortable.

small, friendly hotel. Staff were very helpful. The hotel was incredibly noisy as there was a wedding on the saturday night. There were children running up and down the halls shouting and making noise. I was there with a baby and when the people in the next room turned their TV on I might as well have been sitting in their room with them! There was no tea or coffee in our room but this was quickly rectified with a call to reception. The travel cot provided was broken but we managed. In all, the hotel was lovely but probably not the place to go if you are looking for a quiet break! I felt that perhaps you didn't get what you paid for. I could just as easily have stayed in a travel lodge, paid less, and had a similar experience.

convenience & staff helpfullness. room was lovely. we didnt like the buffet style breakfast, the food was good but i would prefer to order a freshly cooked breakfast, fresh tea or coffee and fresh toast. the noise carries between the rooms and we had a young baby next to us who cried a lot during the night. we had asked for a quiet room but unfortunately this was not the case.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful The bedroom layout was odd. There was no bedhead just a bed on wheels pushed up against a cupboard. The switches for the reading lights were set back, well away from the bed so that I had to get in and out of bed every time I wanted a light on or off. The carpet had not been vacuumed.

Clean, comfortable rooms; friendly staff. Good food.Reasonable priced. Rather hard to find in the dark. If you miss the sign on the A31 you could end up miles away.

I booked this for my friend and she said the night porter was very helpful after they had been delayed by a fallen tree blocking the road. She said it was clean and comfortable. I booked this for my friend who said the room was extremely hot and she had to open all the windows (in Febraury!).

Staff were very friendly, hotel was in a quiet location with plenty of parking. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet was looking a bit tired when we wanted to dine and wasn't being replenished, although I appreciate it was towards the end of the service. Hotel kitchen had run out of eggs. Ironing board brought to room had a hole/rip in the cover. Wedding disco in the hotel went on beyond midnight, keeping us awake.

The staff were very friendly & I liked the overall decor of the hotel. I enjoyed watching tv as well as it had a wide choice of channels & the shower was nice & hot. Very clean as well. At breakfast, there were two containers for the hot food ie; Bacon sausage mushrooms etc. However there was nowhere to rest the lids when you had a plate in one hand. While you served yourself. Was a bit awkward.

Lovely location and well situated away from the main road Nice grounds with good parking facilities. Period decor could do with a facelift. Toilet seat was broken in the en suite and remained so during our two night stay. Breakfast was disorganised and very strict on timing. In fact some guests who came for breakfast five minutes before closure (8.55 am) were told to hurry up and order because the kitchen were very strict and would close at 9.00am prompt!!
