We realy liked the historic ness and comfort, so close to the city center and train station. We will be back. Thank you
Staff were attentive and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Easy check in and out. Good value for money. Old house very tastefully decorated.
Bath and bed both had hair in and quite a lot in the bath. Room being next to reception was a bit noisy, also the plumbing was noisy however, it was an old property.
Friendly and helpful staff, more than happy ffor us to have our dogs with us, great breakfast, clean, warm, great views over the city. Will definitely return
Not bad at all - only comment would be the bed was incredibly soft and the suasages at breakfast very bland. Not much to complain about though.
Very nice looking building , clean , smelt of clean linen immediately on arrival . Lovely breakfast . Most amazing restaurant attached to building.
No one at reception at all to greet you , even after ringing bell twice . Picked up our key from the desk with our bill , no one arrived ?
The staff were amazing in making me feel relaxed and welcome. Very approachable and helpful. Breakfast was substantial with lots of options to choose from. Great location for a quick walk to the main sites of Durham.
WiFi was very difficult to connect to; very poor signal, only available at specific spots in the room. Maybe it was just because of the specific location of my room.
Beautiful Castle， Good Breakfast，Nice Staffs
Good bed, decent sized room, lovely view over Durham, free car parking, free wi fi, good breakfast, pleasant staff.
I guess due to the age of the building the rooms are not well insulated for sound.
Large, comfortable room. Fairly close to town (10 mins walk) Private, free parking
No curtains/blinds on bathroom/toilet windows No restaurant on a Sunday or Monday A bit mean with the cooked breakfast
- good breakfast - free parking on site - good value for money - location, although it is on top of quite a steep hill out of Durham
- shower had wobbly head so unable to point water at me!
Very good Breakfast Excellent location
ROOM NO 6 -Welcoming present in uncleaned toilet -Electrical wall socket for kettle not connected to wall! -Very uncomfortable bed
Location staff and the room
Just a bit cold in the room
Staff were friendly Clean Breakfast
Location. Situated about 10 minutes walk from the center of Durham on a very steep hill. Would not recommend for elderly/disabled people. They did not have confirmation of our booking on arrival. A cat was in residence which my partner is allergic to. You have to go outside and down some dark steps to get to the bar and restaurant which isn't great in the winter.
Small, friendly hotel in quiet area . Lovely cat called Oliver.Very peaceful, had very nice stay will book again.
Nothing to dislike.
breakfast service was good and polite.location was close enough to easily walk from railway station, but far enough to be away from bustle and noise of city night life
some room furnishings did not live up to internet images and would have been better in traditional woods to match the building. also bathroom vinyl floor was in need or repair as was some black mould in shower cubicle door. orangy colours also gave an old peoples home feel
The service was really good and polite. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and I was able to get a good night's sleep. Breakfast was served promptly.
Beautiful room with an excellent view. Good breakfasts
Cold breakfast served on last mornings stay. Asked for it to be warmed up and it was returned after ten minutes Luke warm
Huge bath, huge room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, place is full of character and very well priced. So much better than staying in a chain hotel.
Very close to the centre. Very comfortable bed and good size room with a great view of the city (Rm 11). Nice breakfast. I would stay here again.
Could have been more milk for tea's/coffee's and perhaps a couple of biscuits.
The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay.Thank you Old Keith and Young Keith.
No bar open No restaurant open Breakfast was average
Great location, accommodation, food and service all of a high standard. Ideal site for my Christmas visit to family and friends
Beautiful , old historic building , with friendly ,polite and helpful staff . Made my magical visit even better , thank you
Location The Building Breakfast Excellent value for money
Driving past it twice in the dark!
