Kings Lodge Hotel offers a cozy bar, good food in Finbarr's Restaurant and easy access to central Durham.
Score from 650 reviews Very good
In scenic Croxdale, the Honest Lawyer Hotel is just a 5 minute drive from Durham center. With a restaurant and terrace, the hotel offers modern, motel-style rooms with free parking outside your room.
Score from 903 reviews Very good
Just one mile from central Durham and the Train Station, the Radisson BLU Durham has fantastic views of Durham Cathedral. It offers stylish rooms, free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, bar and modern health club....
Score from 972 reviews Excellent
In the heart of Durham, within easy reach of highway A1 and less than 550 yards from the castle and the train station, this modern hotel offers spacious, modern rooms.
Score from 544 reviews Very good
Large room accomodated 2 adults and dog very well. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Easy parking.
Clients should be aware that it is on a very steep hill - OK to walk down into Durham but not back up if you are elderly or at all disabled.
Nice old house, pleasant and light breakfast room, good breakfast choices. Very conveniently situated. I stayed in the family room on the ground floor, which was a good size.
Creaky floorboards, you heard every step from the room above, but I suppose that can't be helped in an old house. Slightly tired fixtures and fittings in the bathroom.
The staff were very helpful and remembered who people were. Parking space but also close to the city.
The wifi wouldn't work in my room. I think this is a temporary problem.
Richard on reception and breakfast service was the most friendly, polite and helpful person we have come across on this this weeks holiday (7 different hotels)
slightly away from city centre at top of steep hill
Staff friendly enough, cooked breakfast was ok
Milk and orange juice was warm at breakfast, Shower broken, Window was broken, Beds were too soft, Bathroom door handle broken, Room door not working properly, Car parking spaces were very small, Bar was too small,
Internet not available during the whole stay Dirty sheets which won't change from the room service No waterpreasure in the show Room like a prison room
Beats the price of any big chain and delivers plenty more. Not sure how good it was for my health, but the full English breakst never disappoints.
The hotel still need to sort out the wifi. Irregular, jumpy connection.
Huge quiet room with comfortable twin beds, a bath as well as a shower ensuite, good central location about a 10 min walk into town, very friendly helpful staff, breakfast was delicious with a great choice of hot options.
The hill it was located on!!! The shower head kept falling off its bracket..
Adequate accommodation, nothing exceptional.
When compared with other similar accommodation, this place is a little expensive.
Friendly welcome and clean room Cooked breakfast adequate for the day Quieter location of Durham, which was a walk of about 5-10 minutes away Parking in the grounds
Friendly staff. Close proximity to town.
Breakfast poor quality - had previously stayed at the hotel and enjoyed sumptuous breakfast, this time very disappointing. Room, particularly the bathroom only minimally cleaned - mould on windows and shower curtain. Wonder if it has recently changed management or are they unwisely simply cutting costs
Lovely spacious room, bathroom nearly as big. Comfortable, clean and great breakfast, staff all very pleasant and accomodating, good value. 10 min walk down into centre of Durham.
Most guests prob arrive by car but I was on foot and it's a long steep, climb up, ( depends on age and puff I expect) Would have been good to know in advance. Having said this Durham is a hilly place and buses are good.
Close to great historical sites, close to railway station
Super position. Excellent bedroom with ensuite and good made to order breakfast served by a very efficient friendly waiter.
Friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. Big room. Has everything you need for an overnight stop.
Very well-worn polycotton bedlinen - didn't feel very nice.
Helpful, friendly staff Clean spacious room Good WiFi access Short walk into town centre Helpful advice on where to go and restaurants
No evening meal on Sunday Tired bathroom
Really friendly, helpful staff. Spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast - good choice and nicely cooked. Quiet location but only ten minutes walk to the centre. Lovely building.
The location The views from our room The referral of the local pub called "Ye Old Elm Tree", who were fantastic Room was gorgeous and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and waiting staff were polite and helpful
Only complaint was not being able to connect to the Wifi
Location close to Durham city, but quite a steep climb when homeward bound. Quiet location, good parking. Good breakfast. Comfortable room.
Lack of drawer space in room, if staying several nights, but adequate for 1 night stays. Perhaps a little overpriced.
It was a great experience. Walking towards town centre is a bit of a hill down (so would need to go back up), but otherwise the hotel was great - with a wonderful view from the window.
the bed was a bit too soft they charge 2% if paying with a credit card, thus we had to use a debit card..
The stuf were very plesant and helpfull , I felt like home, everybody was smilling . It was my first time in England and I will definitely be back
I loved the bed nice and soft.
The walk up the hill.
Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful building, very good breakfast, quiet place
Can be a little hard to find if you're first time in the city
Lack of evening meal and distance into town as someone with limited mobility this was difficult.
Waiter at breakfast was great.
Walking up the hill alone in the dark.
