Everything, really enjoyed stay, have stayed few times before
Really welcoming and friendly staff. A lovely atmosphere. The food was great too. Our room was comfortable and very clean. We wished we had booked a longer stay....definitely would love to go back. Thank you all for a lovely, relaxing break!
the dog who slept by the fire the fire the food - especially the fried banana with the excellent breakfast being down the road from Shandy Hall bike-friendly good value
Good location Friendly owners/staff Large comfortable room Excellent food for both breakfast and dinner
If you want to unwind, this is the location, south of the North Yorkshire Moors in a delightful small village country inn. Made very welcome upon arrival, our twin bedded room was small but cosy and very clean with comfortable beds. We stayed three nights, breakfast was excellent with a varied menu, the evening dinner menu was good although surprised there was no set meal menu available. All in all a nice relaxing break and would certainly consider staying at this venue again, highly recommended for couples.
Nice and relaxing lovely staff & good food what more could you ask for . Well recommend the superior rooms lovely.
Having to come home
Everything! The food, room, owners, staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and welcoming. Thank you for making our stay so nice. P.s I completed the Marathon!
Friendly and helpful staff, delicious food. Room was well appointed and comfortable with a spacious bathroom. Beautiful location in small village .
very comfortable friendly atmosphere. food was excellent. rooms were spotless. couldn,t fault anything. would stay again!!
Location, cleanliness, friendliness, good ale, breakfast. Staff were very friendly and sympathetic to our complaint regarding room size but unable to act ..although a slight reduction in the cost (to that of the cost of a standard room) was given along with a bottle of brut from the proprietor. Much appreciated. Apart from the room size issue(fault of booking.com) we had a lovely time and will certainly recommend to others and return ourselves.
1. The description of the room on booking.com was totally inaccurate. This was the fault of booking.com though and not the F/Arms.We thought we had booked a good sized double room (superior) with a good sized bathroom with roll top bath. A picture of the room was even given on the booking confirmation. We got an incredibly small (and I mean small) double room, the smallest of the superior rooms apparently.I have been in larger single rooms in motels etc. Ok the bathroom was large...same size as the bedroom, the reason apparently that it was classed as a superior room. The other superior rooms were spacious. 2. The room keys were attached to a large piece of brass which made the noise of an old fashioned shop door bell every time someone inserted the key into the adjoining door. This happened annoyingly many times between 11pm and midnight and again 6am and 7am the next morning.
hospitality excellent;food good;location good for lots of excursions.
Nice location, helpful staff, comfortable room and bed
Kitchen door kept banging and we were right above it. however it did stop fairly early so didn't stop us from sleepong
We booked here for our silver wedding and we had a day at the races, the places is just fabulous, and lovely, helpful, chatty staff, as well a lovely 20year old little cat how cute and of course brambles the dog. we just loved it, we will definitely be back Thanks to all it was great
A delightfully comfortable country inn with a very homely friendly atmosphere. We were lucky to stay over the bank holiday weekend while the "within this landscape" audio walk by Hannah Davies was taking place, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Lovely staff and atmosphere.Pretty room, comfy bed,fab location.Just a bit noisy at night with a door by the bar banging underneath my room.Great breakfast too.
The efficiency but so warm and friendly that one felt very much at home immediately. We were very sorry to leave and will certainly be back.
The atmosphere, the view from the window, the comfy bed, the good breakfast, cheery staff, old inn full of character. Great!
Friendly, relaxed, efficient, can do attitude. Concern for us. Ming Ming the cat.
Really friendly staff who couldn't do too much. Interesting menu and good pub food Comfy rooms in old quirky setting.
Nothing stands out but if I were to be picky - marmalade at breakfast would be good and perhaps another real ale in the bar
Small, quirky and friendly with great food, comfy accomodation and lovely staff.
Slightly disorganised check in, no information given
We visited for the weekend for our friends wedding. Conveniently the church was across the road and the reception venue 1/2 mile down the road. Ideal! Friendly staff only too happy to help with any requests. Bar stayed open late on the sat night so guests could have a sociable night cap on their return from the wedding reception. Perfect way to cap off a fantastic evening.
We stayed here on our wedding night and were made to feel incredibly special. We would definitely recommend!
Friendly, engaging staff, great food (including smaller portion option!) and wine. Also pleased to try a Yorkshire gin!
The Drama night, great acting and good fun! Staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Great food and service.
