What did we like? Everything.... from the grand looking hotel, spacious, high ceiling room with picturesque views of the countryside to the expertly presented and tasty dinners and polite, professional staff.
We can't find fault with this hotel.
Very relaxed atmosphere, very pleasant staff
Bathroom was quite dated
Breakfast, the room and the location.
Friendly helpful staff. All smile and approachable. The hotel is very clean. The bed was so comfy. Breakfast in bed was certainly a treat
Food. Certainly very poor standard. My meal was disgusting. Rump steak was so tough and the rest of the food was cold. It's far to expensive to have to send it back. I did notice others sending main courses back also.
Food was brilliant Staff wonderful
Easy to access from the M40, yet feeling so remote and beautiful. Meeting rooms and the dining 'hall' in the Knightley Suite were beautiful.
I didn't give myself time to use the spa!
Great location, good swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi, gym and excellent food.
Thin bedroom walls, insufficient lighting in bedroom for reading, difficulty in flushing loo
rude bar staff ordered a bottle of Chablis and was asked if I needed a straw or a glass with it..! the champagne was the wrong sort, the Chablis warm. no chiller offered, and only one supplied. food was good, table was not level. room was good, apart from the half dozen flies we shared it with.bathroom extractor doesnot work .the footboard from the bed covers half the tv screen. attention to detail is expected at 200+ per room, fawsley needs a makeover in carpets in the barn breakfast scrambled eggs inedible
wonderful property, friendly staff. comfortable dining and breakfast rooms and impressive restoration.
Loud air conditioning, no view from a very small window, a sickening smell of paint, and a very limited dining menu with little or no vegetables.
the fact I needed to pay for 2, when I travelled solo. This included two for breakfast.
The Spa facilities and service were great and excellent value for money. The room was excellent we have visited Fawsley on more than one occasion and we will be returning.
The surcharge was a little naughty but you are warned about this in their website. No other hotel in the group has this but I know Fawsley has had this policy in for some time now.
the room given although not the one booked was excellent really good size & comfortable. All meals were excellent and all staff friendly and helpful
had room on top floor shower & water pressure very poor.
All staff very professional and friendly. Bedroom very clean, spacious and bed extremely comfortable. Wonderful food. Excellent spa facilities.
The Hall and Grounds are superb and the Spa facilities are excellent. Our room layout and furnishing was top notch - clean, spacious and exceedingly comfortable.
We had an issue that really blighted our stay - we brought it up a couple of times but the people we mentioned it to really couldn't care less. We have the impression that the management is focused on events trade (eg wedding) at the expense of regular hotel guests - what a shame!
The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for us. Food was excellent & the setting was idyllic. Spa facilities compliment an amazing place.
We had to come home!
Spa (spa staff were great) Bedrooms Venue itself Setting
Staff Disorganised nature of reception, sometimes unmanned
The atmosphere is just so lovely . We had my daughters wedding and from start to finish the attention to detail , the support given was outstanding ! The rooms, the food , the service and the spa was excellent nothing but praise from everyone
That we had to leave
Beautiful hotel with spacious room & bathroom. Facilities were good & spa quiet & enjoyable. On hearing we were going to the Bicester outlet village, we were given vouchers for extra discounts.
Only minor complaint would be when sitting in the main hall waiting for drinks, we had to go & find someone to take our order after 15-20 minutes.
Food & service was excellent
We expected a table in the restaurant for our evening meal but were located in a brightly lit side room in another part of the hotel. It was a large room with only a few tables and was definitely not what we wanted. It was a friends reunion and we booked the table 6 weeks prior. Very disappointing. We complained and were given some free drinks but it did spoil our evening.
Our room was clean, comfortable and luxurious with a great view of trees, garden & lake. Enjoyed the Fitness studio & swimming pool.
We had to change rooms initially, as the room we were given on arrival had just been decorated. Strong smell of paint. Reception staff were excellent and moved us straightaway.
Staff were fab
Staff was helpful. Beautiful grounds. Room service excellent. Great hall gorgeous. Queen Elizabeth I stayed there!
Dining was room was gothic, dark, and sort of scary. We ate dinner in the room because of this. No elevator.
We had a fantastic stay at Fawsley Hall. The staff were all very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. The Spa facilities were lovely and over all we had a very relaxing weekend.
Some of the décor was slightly in need of re-doing but was really a minor issue.
Beautiful setting... The breakfast and the dining room staff. were excellent Lovely room BUT...
Poorly trained Reception Staff. Cleaner in room when returning from breakfast ,as we were not leaving that day.Didn't change towels just hung up dirty damp ones again. No butter or cutlery with toast and jams when delivered to our room. Constant humming noise from kitchen or boiler under our room (Club room as it was dearer than a standard room).which gave us a really bad nights sleep. No air conditioning instructions. NO lift, too many stairs as I have back and knee problem! Draught cider off both nights, feeble excuse from bar man.
Hotel was lovely, staff excellent
Food and drinks over priced
