Early breakfast, not enough waiting staff
Easy access to many beautiful locations. The scenary is worth the experience in all weather, and the changing light, gives many different aspects to the same position. All-round views are a constant reminder of the wonderful countryside.
The hotel is a lovely old building but kept in an old/ modern style, with a beautiful garden and grounds with great views. Food was good, hospitality etc, tip top.
took too long to get there sometimes
Although We did not know it was a set menu, the staff were very accommodating. The food was of the highest standard ,and very tasty!!
The service was quite slow
The well kept gardens and stunning views from the terrace. Plenty of tables and chairs to choose from outside.
The room was small and dull. The service for evening dinner was exceptionally slow. Room was not serviced on 1 occasion.
The venue its self is in a gorgeous position with well attended gardens and we enjoyed a very relaxing break. The staff couldnt do more which added to the sense of relaxation.
We had a very small room with no aircon or room fan. The room was at the front of the hotel and as the weather was so good our window needed to be left open for essential ventilation which meant we heard lots of vehicles parking and doors slamming. There was also a constant humming from what sounded like an extraction fan which did not switch off until 10pm.
no fresh bread at breakfast or proper continental choice ie cold meats, cheese etc
Beautiful location with stunning views, comfortable room.
Ordered a newspaper for the morning which wasn't available with breakfast, wifi could be updated to include coverage in rooms.
location and room were fine, nice views, quiet
some staff were grumpy. Too many 'rules' cream tea had to be 1-4 - you could not just have prosecco later. You had to have the voucher (which we were not given). Dinner was nice but painfully slow. Seemed more like an old folks rest home
The staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable . The food was the usual high quality.
A small niggle...the shower wasn't very effective.
The hotel is situated in its own grounds very nice garden s .food best we have had in a long time .
The food was excellent and the staff first class. Relaxing in a beautiful setting. There are a couple of negative comments but this would not stop us staying here again. If there had been no hot water, the food and staff would have made up for that.
The bathroom was small and there was not a position that you could sit and dry your hair in front of a mirror. No draught beer only lager or over priced bottled beer.
Stayed here several times before, always enjoy it, nice and quiet, and they very attentive etc. Would always recommend.
food bed friendly lovely grounds
no chairs in room. 2 provided on request
A well spread out, traditional British property refurbished to provide old world British charm, mesmerizing views and ambience, fulsome breakfast with wonderful variety
No wifi access on the top room. Just a little away from town center. No lifts in the property.
We liked the affiliation to the old England hotel.
Sent into an attic room for £179 which had a dirty bedcover, dated ensuite and a shower that did not work. The room had been left with the radiator on full. Very hot. Finally the breakfast was disappointing. The continental, cereal etc very good however, the English breakfast consisted of a mushroom uncooked, bacon slightly cooked, poached egg completely boiled. We stay in the lakes virtually every month and was extremely disappointed.
Nice clean room with lovely view of beautiful garden, comfy bed. Staff were very nice and helpful.
Bathroom very small with bath squeezed into corner. Had a shower over bath but had to be a contortionist to get under it. Would have been better being just a walk in shower room.
Beautiful location, well mannered and helpful staff, good bar and lounge facililties and & great breakfast.
Expensive, public areas wifi is poor at best, bathroom fixtures hanging off the wall, shower pressure was dreadful.
Room was relaxing. In room Jacozy was very good idea. Employee are very nice. Quite location. Car parking.
Break fast need to be improved as there are limited options and standard food taste, staff who serve the break fast need to be more traind & organized as we asked some food in different times during the breakfast & they did not or forget to bring it. Internet was not available on the rooms but available on the bar & it is very bad. Price is too high compaired to the room level & provided services.
Lake and garden view so nice!!! I will book lake view room again! And I love all staffs of this hotel!!! So adorable and genial! Thx for giving me and my friend a excellent vacation!
