Good hot water. Very comfortable bed.
We had to leave early so could not have breakfast, but that was not really a problem for us.
The staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was nice and the bar and gardens were lovely.
Value for money was excellect the room was very comfortable and clean and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beakfast and dinner were very good with the cost of dinner and wine being very good. We would visit again if we were in the area or for a weekend break.
Room was lovely, clean and comfortable.
Breakfast wasn't so good!
The staff were very helpful and friendly
The room was too hot & the extractor fan in the bathroom made a continuous noise. The bed wasn't a double it was 2 singles pushed together
I'd read reviews and was slightly worried it wouldn't be a pleasant stay but was very pleased with the room, and an excellent breakfast.
Nothing I can really criticise.
Great Value, Amazing bed comfort, Good room facilities, Courtious & attentive staff, Super choice of breakfast.
Convenient, helpful staff
For what we paid it was very good.
Room rate was reduced....because of the bathroom leak....thankyou for that. The staff always very helpful ...
1/.Still no mobile phone connection. ...2/..A plumbing leak, flood on bathroom floor.
Rooms in general Comfy beds Nice bar Very quiet at night
Food is just ok The fans in the bathrooms
quiet location, comfortable bed.
restaurant area in need of redecoration, and brightening up food choice not very imaginative
Convenient for Stansted Airport with more character than an airport hotel.
Restaurant area in attached pub lacked atmosphere. Bedroom quite small but adequate for one night.
Food at the pub wasn't bad and the staff were also attentive.
Room smelled of damp and lots of dust, paint flaking of the bathroom ceiling. Felt as though the room had just been opened up after being unoccupied for a long time.
Good value, excellent breakfast
Basic room, but can't complain given the price!
Nice room good breakfast competitive room rate helpful staff
Mobile phone connection is very bad
Size of room
Booking back to back wedding parties who created a disturbance all night and a couple even resorted to fisticuffs in reception prevented a good night's sleep. When it was discovered that I had no towels in my room nobody answered the phone or was in reception.
Initial impression of Hotel Attentive waiting staff
Shabby exterior of Hotel Tired room Crittal windows with ivy climbing through Leaking shower
Food and drink presentable
Accommodation needs more attention to detail cleaning and refurbishment - in poor state awaiting reports for building-damp works....(didn't need to hear this explanation) Employees although pleasant gave as much as required which in our case very little !
Convenient location, easy access, good food, attentive and polite staff, good Wi-Fi access, value for money, excellent breakfast.
The cubicle in the shower room was a bit small, and the towel rail on the wall had broken off and had not been replaced, therefore whilst we wouild have been happy to use the same towels twice, we had to have a fresh set for the 2nd day as there was nowhere for the towels to dry, not good for environment
Retained old world charm of historic building. Bar cosy. Rooms basic but pleasing.
Stayed extra night, 2nd room less nice, smaller with smaller bed. Breakfast buffet bar in awkward place, and in full sunshine. Spoils big room. Evening service in bar for food a little slow. Perhaps not enough staff?
Countryside was beautiful, the room was cosy.
The staff was unfriendly with foreigner, but friendly with british people. For example we couldn't have dinner in the Inn, but the other table could, so than we had dinner in The Anchor, and there were the waiters nice and friendly.
Bed was very comfortable, big spacious room
dripping/constant running toilet, very annoying!!
- good food - supper and breakfast - good bed - British atmosphere -
- lack of hot water - shower - toilet
