A short walk from Ludlow town centre, The Charlton Arms provides attractive rooms and fine dining on the Ludford Bridge. This Shropshire pub is just 10 minutes’ walk from the medieval Ludlow Castle.

|55 Corve Street is located in Ludlow. There is a full kitchen with an oven and a refrigerator. Featuring a shower, private bathrooms also come with a bath or shower. Extras include a sofa.|
The location is ideal, being in the town centre and with parking - a bonus. The hotel was comfortable and quaint, and the bedroom (found it eventually by going along several corridors, up and down stairs and through seven fire doors) was clean and warm. Staff were helpful and efficient, though not especially warm and welcoming on the day of my visit.
My overall impression was that it needs some updating in terms of furnishings and pictures, and I haven't seen sheets and blankets on a hotel bed for years. The food on the night of my visit was rather underwhelming, and breakfast, in a dark corner of the restaurant, was not a very sympathetic experience either - a little disappointing considering the cost of the overnight stay.
Very pleasant stay in a wonderful old building, loved the period furniture and atmosphere. Staff helpful and attentive. Would definitely stay again
nice staff, in town, wonderful upgrade that I didn't ask for. Lovely hotel, open fires, comfortable, would go again
bedspread was torn
The guests who decided to use their spa bath at 3:30 in the morning!
We always stay here in Ludlow, but like different rooms each time. Our four poster was very comfortable and HUUUGE!
The staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. The beds were warm and comfortable and our rooms were spacious
the bar area on the ground floor was very squashed and quite ordinary only redeeming feature was the beautiful roaring fire
The food was delicious and the entertainment fantastic
Nothing about the place
The room was filthy, dated and dirty
- hotel frontage - James 1st Room - location in centre of town - the history of the place
- elevated toilet in bathroom with 2 steps up was dangerous in the dark at night - grouting around the bath needs re-doing - did not look nice - common areas were cool/cold (OK it was winter) - could do with a bigger bed
Very friendly and attentive staff. Really good food.
Location is brilliant, half minute from centre of town. Wonderful characterful building Friendly and welcoming staff Good parking.
Expensive for the condition of the flagship bedroom, which is well overdue for a makeover. Unnecessary notices. Poor general condition, eg bluetac not removed from walls. Slow service at dinner, though breakfast was good. Up drinkable coffee at breakfast.
Stayed at The Feathers for two nights. Hotel in center of Ludlow so very convenient for castle etc. Rooms clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Ate in hotel restaurant, food excellent and good value, waiting staff friendly and attentive. Would certainly stay again.
Location, standard and size of room and great luxury bathroom. Have stayed in a standard room before and upgraded this year, well worth the extra.
For superior quality of room bed could have been better, perhaps ready for a new mattres.
Location History Quirkiness Room location Food Staff helpful and friendly Great atmosphere
Car parking limited but it was during the Medieval Market A bit tired in places Very warm in bedroom Noisy in bedroom at front but didn't bother me
Ability to take our dog. A hotel with history and full of character. Location in Ludlow to access the Medieval Christmas Fare. Excellent professional staff, very warm welcome. Wonderful breakfast and bar menu. Comfortable bedroom and amenities.
Only one small issue the shower did not regulate and was too hot to use.
Wi Fi limited to public areas
Hotel itself is lovely, Reception fantastic and helpfull breakfast excellent.
Went to Bar after checking out to get coffee and it was chaos. Admittedly busiest day of the year I am sure as Christmas Market, but it was hell. The worst thing was that the staff - the glass collector in particular seemed to blame the customers for this and was rude and agressive. Lacking in any customer service skills and worse still wanted to inimidate and bully guests when questioned. Simple manners rather than sulking and intimidation would have worked. It really let the hotel down and as a number of other people mentioned - people will take their business elsewhere. A real shame as everything else about the stay was great. But need to control behaviour of individuals who let the business down.
We had the full English and were surprised that the food was tepid, my daughter had a poached egg that was barely warm, quite disappointed otherwise a lovely room in an amazing building
Champagne and locally made chocolates on arrival. Outside terrace was warm enough to enjoy some of the evening. Cosy fire in the lounge with coffee & tea available at the end of the evening. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice.
The Bar area was quiet, lacked atmosphere, but plenty of seating comfy sofa. Shame the restaurant was fully booked as hoped as guests to dine that evening, will pre book ahead next time!!
Good position, car park (important), nice staff, nice room, nice food, nice ambiance
Wall-to-wall Christmas decorations in early November!
Staff, food, accomodation food quality in main restaurant had improved since previous visit three years ago.
Wine prices in main restaurant were cheeky; over the top for what they were but whoever sets the prices knows that already and my complaint probably won't change their policy, but it should as it leaves an irritation with some guests and may encourage them to eat elsewhere. Ambience, decor and general quality of the public bar was at odds with main hotel. Plumbing noises need attention.
The feathers is in a beautiful building which has not been spoilt by modernisation however needs a bit of TLC in some areas. We had a lovely stay and the staff were great( particularly the younger staff)
The room that we had was overpriced as was the restaurant( although the food was lovely)Our stay coincided with the start of the "Turkey and tinsel " season and to have Xmas decorations etc in early nov was a little surprising-whilst realising that large hotels need this trade it might have been better to inform other guests in advance or offer a reduced rate as the main focus was on the needs of these older guests
The food was very good, & the staff in the restaurant were very friendly. We liked the spaciousness of our four poster bed room & also the large bathroom. The hotel was ideally situated for sightseeing the town.
Outside facade although this is in need of major renovation.
Overall decor of hotel. Not shown to room although it was at the end of a maze of corridors and difficult to find. Overall decor and experience was not up to expectations and it is priced too high relying on it's reputation rather on what it offers, .
The ambiance of The Feathers is welcoming and relaxing. The rooms my friend and I occupied were spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. The cuisine is a joy! The chef's creativity ensures that dinner is a highlight of every enjoyable day.
I honestly cannot think of anything that could be described as a disappointment. We have stayed at The Feathers before, and were delighted to have this opportunity of returning.
