The location of the hotel and its car park, in the centre of Ludlow, makes for the perfect stay in town. From the hotel's appearance you would guess that it has a history and this has been captured within. The staff were helpful and efficient and the food was really good.

My wife and I have just enjoyed a thoroughly pleasant weekend in The Feathers in Room 144. As it rained all day, we took full advantage of the hotel facilities and hardly left the hotel on the Sunday. Room 144 is a superb and elegant room, the food and drink in the hotel was excellent value and the staff in the bar and restaurant friendly and professional. Super breakfast. It’s a also joy to visit a hotel and bar where there is no piped music. The building and its interior is, of course, one of the finest in the UK. We enjoyed our stay: The Feathers provides excellent service and value for money. When we looked at bill on checking out we discovered that our meal the night before had not been charged. When we pointed this out we were a little surprised not to be thanked by the receptionist for our honesty in asking for an extra £69 to be added to the bill or given any sort of apology for the omission. After a shuffling around the desks for the relevant chits, our new bill (£69 higher than the first) was pushed across the desk without any comment. In the light of having had such an enjoyable stay in a wonderful hotel, this is a very minor "complaint".

The facade and the history in general, the bar, the reading rooms, the casual atmosphere. The restaurant was boringly decorated with fake beams, and was lacking in warmth or charm ( and there were ants crawling over our table) The wood of the facade appears not to have been treated for a long time, and is decomposing alarmingly, and crumbling onto the first floor balcony- this facade is the Feather's biggest asset, and should be carefully preserved, not left to fall apart. The word "Cuprinol" comes to mind. The Hotel was very expensive for the facilities offered.

Location The bathroom left a lot to be desired. I made it known to the staff I was disabled and could not do stairs , she changed the room to one without any stairs ,shame it was 242 the most furthest away from the lift , in event of fire the 3rd floor ???, the bath so deep due to my disability could not get in for a shower the water in the shower was cold and trickled out as for cleaning try getting then to clean the door behind it and the floor , I enjoyed my visit to Ludlow and was happy we only booked two days at the Feathers .These are what I did not like about your hotel

Our short stay at the Feathers was a relaxing experience. Staff were efficient and friendly, facilities were well up to standard, and the hotel itself both iconic and quirky in its layout. The parking facility was a good feature. Breakfast was of a good standard and efficiently served. In all a positive experience.

Large comfortable rooms, esp. Bathroom. Very historical and atmospheric. The dinner we had was superb. Staff friendly and pleasant. I'm not sure that reception were quite 'on the ball'. When we settled our bill we were initially not charged for dinner, and less honest people than us may have said nothing about it.

We found all the staff friendly but Karen, with her repartee and bubbly character excelled. We asked for a quiet twin room and got one (107). Dining room and bar too bright, candles and a few large suitable green plants would help to create a more cosy atmosphere. Breakfast very good, evening meal whilst good was overpriced I thought (you will get a deal on the evening meal if you ask). Location for town and castle good, parking restricted to 26 cars, get there early.

We enjoyed our two-night stay at the hotel and were pleased with the room and the general ambience of this interesting and historic Tudor foundation, close to the busy-ness of the town centre. At the same time the house evoked memories of times past, particularly in the evenings around the fire in the wood-panelled rooms. That was a happy combination for a couple who wished 'to escape' for a few days. We have no negative comments to make. This particular birthday anniversary was trouble-free. Thanks!

This is an historic, old hotel in the center of Ludlow and the building was certainly interesting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Feathers is I am afraid a `fading glory'. I went because it once had a reputation for excellent food and whilst the food was ok, the restaurant was totally lacking in atmosphere and ambiance. We were offered two sittings 18:30 and 20:30 and neither was full, but we chose the latter. The stultied conversation and hurried leavings further lowered the atmosphere. Whilst completing our meal the staff began to pack up around us, although it was only just past 21:00, certainly not what I had expected. The hotel advertises parking facilities but they are very limited and I had to park in a public carpark at my oen expense.

The hotel was charming and old world but with all the necessary modern comforts. Dining was excellent, both for dinner and the inclusive breakfast. The location was central to Ludlow and within walking distance of the main town features - recommend visits to the stunning church (free) and the castle. We had a free upgrade to a 4 poster room - wonderful!

The staff were very pleasant and the location in ludlow is excellent. I realise it is a very old building but our rooms decor was in need of a overhaul. When anyone had a bath, shower etc above us we got all the bangs from the pipes. The breakfast was adequate. A little disappionted I think maybe resting on past reputation.Overpriced for what we got
