Featherstone Farm is in tranquil countryside, 2 miles from junction 11 of highway M6. It offers rooms with private bathrooms, hot breakfasts and a good Indian restaurant. Featherstone Farm Hotel is a small converted farm, with real original fireplaces in the traditional breakfast room and lounge. Parts of the farm buildings date back to the 17th century. The rooms have TVs and there are also self-catering cottages available. Hotel Rooms: 9

The farmhouse itself and the adjacent restaurant are beautiful 17th Century buildings, but ruined by artexing, PVC windows and furnishings which are not in keeping with the period. It could be really special if someone striiped it out and took it back to how it should look. Breakfast, however, was very good and the young couple managing the hotel were pleasant and helpful. Room 0 was a twin room but no space to swing a cat! Just enough room to get round the single beds. No bath, just a shower. Tiny washbasin, so small it is impossible to fit the kettle under the tap. Bathroom ledges were dusty and the wardrobe had six useless plastic hangers. Not even a piece of soap. Bedstead obscures the TV. Lumpy, hard foam pillows. Come on!!!! You cannot be serious!!!! I would suggest that the staff try to stay in it for a night, watch TV etc. The only thing I can say is that it was a place to sleep for the night. It would be OK if that were the first bed and bathroom one encountered after spending 3 months backpacking around Africa. Then, no doubt, it would seem like luxury. Would not go back unless it were seriously upgraded in room size, furnishings and general comfort.

The breakfast was very nice and the log fire had been lit in the breakfast room. The first thing you notice when you walk in is a damp fusty smell especialy in the room we stayed in. The bed would benefit from some new pillows they had seen better days! The sink was so tiny in the bathroom you had to cup the water into the kettle from the tap as you couldnt get it in the sink to fill it. There was one tiny bottle of shower gel and a tiny peice of soap no face cloths and the towel rail was hanging off the wall. The tea and coffee tray was a poor show. Definatly the decor needed freshening up especialy in the bathroom and the carpets were dirty and marked.such a shame as it is a beautiful old building steeped in history.

The local knowledge of the hotel owner.Close proximity to the business I had tyhe following day. The bathroom was in need of serious refurbishment. The fact that it had no restaurant for evening dinner.

The fact that it was a disused and very old farm, so in the country, & quiet. The lovely breakfast room. The old fireplaces. The cosy feel. The attached pub (which we didn't have time to use). We found the bathroom fittings unsatisfactory, and our room for two had only one chair and one towel, while having two cups for tea. There were several odd little things like this, including the need to use a cup to transfer water for tea to the electric kettle, because the kettle would not fit under the tap in the basin (which was minute itself). But overall the place was pleasant and met our needs. One of us would recommend ff, one wouldn'T.

Right location for where I was going, and a delightful rural atmosphere. Windows of bedroom all security locked, so no ventilation due to lack of key (or maybe to not knowing where to find). Too late when I noticed...

Very quaint, lovely house, nice people. Indian restaurant is fabulous too!! Bathroom is tiny and nowhere to hang towels or put toiletries, hooks would help! Room wasn't totally cleaned as we found previous occupants belongings in a drawer, and towels werenot replaced on the 2nd day. Just minor things though!

The friendly staff and cosy lounge. The pressure in all the showers was very bad. The rooms were noisy when other residents were moving around.

The staff were lovely and I enjoyed tucking into the breakfast, the room was lovely, warm and very comfurtable, and the facilities were just right. It was nice and quite and not to far out from anywhere. I love the country cottage home from home carisma this hotel offers, would be happy to stay again.

The room was lovely, bed was exceptionally comfortable. The dining room was stunning. I much prefer independent hotels to chains and I like the individualistic rustic approach, which the Featherstone did very well. The staff were polite and the breakfast nice. Well worth the money Bathroom a little pokey and musty smelling, but not a problem.

Good location for my business. Friendly staff Good Breakfast Beside a nice Indian Restaurant Very creaky floors from guest in room above woke me up at 6am. Very poor towels in room - strugggled to dry myself using two at a time. Ironing board on request had seen better days. Difficult to find any other restaurants in local area other than attached Indian.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent (not just good). Wi Fi signal was good. I couldn't get any hot water from the shower - if I hadn't been in a hurry to leave I would have asked for help. I had a meal at the Indian Restaurant next door and although the meal was good the service was very slow - the issue being I'm not sure where else I would have eaten without getting the car out!

Location, it was close to the village my mother grew up in. Breakfast was excellent. The Hotel was very clean and the staff helpful and obliging. The floorboards of the room above ours creaked very loudly, if we'd wanted an early night we'd have been disturbed by it.

the history of the hotel is worth reading . the breakfast was excellent & although we didnt eat at the indian resturant it was always busy & has a reputation locally for superb food. lovely room with inglenook fireplace. lots of oak beams . the only down side was the creaking of the floor above everytime someone moved & you could hear people talking quite clearly . so will just req upper floor next time !!

Relaxed atmosphere in a very quiet location, so no problems sleeping. The staff were extremely relaxed and accommodating which was excellent. Room was very small and the electrics were playing up. No easy way to fill the kettle up. No big deal...

“Very relaxed but great attention to detail - i.e. decanter of sherry in room plus fresh milk in jug of hot drinks. Lovely restaurant with gourmet food. this hotel is set away from the road to Bridgenorth, but is well worth finding. Very fairly priced - thank you Old Vicarage.” Gillian, Oxted |

“What a little gem of a hotel, close enough to the city to get there easily but far enough away to be quiet. I took my dog with me and was made very welcome with a ground floor room with my own exit to the car park. I will definitely stay here again, it's incredible value for money ” Mike, Dolwyddelan |
