Convenient location. Access to room was poor. Had to carry luggage up and down narrow stairs. Room 1. Difficult to sit on the toilet; very little leg room. Decor poor. Carpet in room was dirty. Multiblock on a ledge with trailing wires, which was not safe. The room was cold and there was only a fan heater, which was attached to the multiblock. No bedside lamps and only one bedside cabinet. Service at breakfast poor and quality of food was very poor. Cornflakes were very hard and food did not seem to be freshly prepared. We are still waiting for two glasses for orange juice. Nowhere to put soap etc. in the shower.

The place was clean, the bed linen and towels beautifully white. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful, helping me with my cases as my husband is quite frail and sight impaired. Was so good to be able to park the car and get a bus quite easily into the city. The croissant I ordered for breakfast, obviously heated in the microwave and for far too long.

good location near the station, renovated room & bathroom, excellent bed, excellent WiFi included in the price, fan in the room, English breakfast, good value for money no lift, somewhat approximative housekeeping (new specs for the cleaning crew or new vacuum cleaner needed?)

It is close to the centre of cambridge so do not have to walk far. There is also available parking on site for free. The breakfast - I felt they could have offered a choice of fresh fruit even if it was only an apple. For people that are dairy free or wheat free there is not much to choose from. I felt the rooms were not very clean!! Our shower was hanging off the socket so did not shut ! We had to stand up against it so the water did not get out. There was always lots of noise! You could hear people's conversations through the walls ! Maybe I am being very picky, but it did not seem private enough.

Friendly and helpful staff ,Comfortable en-suite room. Somewhat meagre content of 'Continental Breakfast' was available with 'English b'fast with no difference in price. Could have had 1 or more stewed or fresh fruit options eg grapefruit, prunes, mandarin orange, grapes with creme fraiche and plain yoghourt, crunchy cereal etc. Breakfast service not quite up to level of reception! [a bell would help, and get young lady to wear less slip-slop-sounding footwear!]

Breakfast is excellent, service good Toilet is terrible ... that's an overstatement. Horrible smell, I believe due to fundamental blockage. Does not flush completely even when the button is held down. I reported this to several staff members. One poured costic soda in the toilet but that did little to no good. Another said they would root the problem out the next day but that has not happened. I firmly believe the uk has a sewer problem that is larger than Fenners hotel can fix. However, I also believe that the hotel could have done more to minimize the stench. Sorry to be so blunt but that is the reality of my experience.

Staff were obliging when we needed a ground floor room due to knee injury. Room was not too cramped and very clean. Nice quiet location. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Access through fire doors that needed to be kept closed was awkward with large suitcases.

The bed was fantastic and breakfast was surprisingly good. The ensuite bathroom was tiny - more a closet than a bathroom. Otherwise the place was fine.

They were kind and friendly. Breakfast was nice! The structure of the house is a bit complicated. And I need to up and down the narrow stairs with my heavy suitcase.

Lovely rooms, clean, car parking available. Tv didn't work, wi-fi was very dodgy & totally let me down, saniflow toilet was a bit loud, stairs to attic room were steep & narrow making carrying luggage difficult (plus low sloping ceiling at top with no warning to mind your head!), morning staff weren't very friendly, breakfast was poor (waitress got order totally wrong, coffee was lukewarm, cutlery missing and glass had been used but left when place reset). Have had a lot better for a lot less!

Walking distance to the city and university, typical English town house. The dining is much too small, not accessible in some of the tables, stairs are not narrow, not suitable for those who have large luggages.

Lovely people on check in, couldn't do enough Fat eastern European guy in tatoos and a vest telling me I had 5 minutes to get out of the hotel so he could clean the room. Then his colleague/friend telling me she could give us 10 minutes with the guy staring at me while smacking his lips every 10 seconds

Strong mechanical noise in the room (a water pump?) Poor ventilation. TV set did not work. Claustrophobic narrow corridors; in case of fire, it could be very difficult to find a way out.

It was clean, reasonably friendly and not expensive. Close to the City, and the rail if we come by train next time. Parking provided, though that seems to be first come basis. Breakfast was varied and there was a reasonable vegetarian option, rather than a 'do without' approach as most places would. Simple things, such as no towel rail, hook for clothes in the bathroom or soap dish in the shower. No decaffeinated options, but that's fairly standard. Prefer not to be given clean towels daily, unless requested by us. Uncertainty over procedure for breakfast - we waited a long time, then called for help. Service was quick and friendly thereafter.

The staff were friendly. It was useful to be able to park the car and walk into the centre of Cambridge. The bedding was clean and comfortable. The bathroom/shower could have been cleaned better, there was mould and dust which could have been easily removed. The breakfast could be improved by adding additional bacon, and offering a choice of type of tomatoe ... ie not just raw.

Nothing about the Fenners Hotel We found the Fenners expensive for what it was. The breakfast area was crammed with plastic cloths on the tables.People queued to wait for tables which were crammed together.I Had to move my seat several times to allow other diners to squeeze past me & I am small!!!! The tables were left strewn with previous diners plates etc & needs reorganising. Not an enjoyable visit to this "hotel" & would not return or recommend it to others.
