Location was handy and rooms very presentable with a good range of real ales? Staff friendly & helpful. Carvery food - large portions but not exactly Cordon Bleu! Wi Fi doesn't extend to all the rooms in the annex.

Arrived in the middle of a wake where the vicar, clearly having finished his part of the proceedings, was able to offer more help than the receptionist who very clearly was still being overwhelmed by his – 110 mourners, who appeared to be doing anything but mourning, instead of the estimated 65. Our room was in a ‘lodge’ further up the hills than the arms so we had to use our legs and relocate our luggage, and the vicar had disappeared!. The room was extremely hot from the sun but was pleasant enough with plenty of space. We had a Red Rock moment, just as Eggheads was approaching its dramatic conclusion, with the power failing in the whole of the village. Therese in our short stay managed to become an intimate of the Post Office lady who was unwilling to exchange money but very happy to exchange gossip. The power was eventually restored, no doubt by the vicar, and we mourned the missing of Eggheads. Breakfast was substantial and eventually the cook joined us and taught me how to access wireless.

Welcoming reception staff. Clean and well-equipped , comfortable room and facilities, though lodge a rather long and tricky walk from the bar in the snow and ice. Excellent breakfast charmingly served. Long walk from lodge to hotel in inclement weather conditions.

Close to where I needed to be. If there had been something I would have mentioned it during my stay.

Lodge is clean and comfortable. Visiting family and friends, great location between Beverley and hull. The pub is looking a little tired, maybe due a makeover, but the new lodge is fresh and inviting.

The rooms were of an excellent size, the bathroom ideal(though if you were not careful the power shower could blow you out of the room!!) and the location of the accommodation was brilliant. Total quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful to a fault and the nmanager Kevin could not do enough to make the stay perfect. Absolutely excellent. Nothing

The breakfast was very good but it was served on cold plates so it went cold very quickly that was the only fault.

warm, well appointed bedroom; good shower, wifi that worked not a fan of carvery pub/restaurants; it looked pretty tatty too in the light of day at breakfast time; long walk to pub if it is raining, but luckily there is a "proper" pub with decent beer and food next door; pretty mediocre breakfast; poor mattress in my room; poor soundproofing, so I got disturbed every time someone went through the fire door outside my room

The location and price. The fixed shower and the carvery where we found the food was decidedly past its sell-by date.

We liked the room and facilities we had in what we believed to be a new building, but thought it was a pity it was necessary to have to eat in the old building, especially on a wet/cold day.The staff were excellent also the breakfast we had.We would definitely come again some time and would also recommend you to friends. As mentioned above we think it is a pity one would have to walk through inclement weather to eat.Nothing much going on in Walkington so we went to Beverley during the evening.
