+ Seems like they have eventually sorted the WiFi out which helps as no mobile network inside
+ Staff are very friendly (Breakfast staff are actually amazing)
+ Comfy bed
+ Music from downstairs goes off exactly at 10:45 which is brilliant

For a place of this size was not expecting a choice of breakfast so the variety was a very pleasant surprise. Nice and warm. Staff were really excellent and found me a room even though problems with the booking.com system lead to them being double booked.

Location is great, just on the back street in Castleton (near the chippy!) Space for 4 cars.
We were given clear instructions on how to enter the property with access codes, and our room was great (at the end of the corridor).
There is a kitchenette in the room, which comprises of kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge, with crockery, glasses and cutlery. We were also given some boxes of cereal and some milk in the fridge, very unexpected and a lovely gesture.
The bed was comfy, very peaceful rooms. The room was a little cold at first, but it warmed up over the weekend.
There was a Smart TV in the room, guess you could log in to your Netflix or Amazon accounts if you wanted, although we didn't.
Wifi worked great (thank goodness as there was no phone signal!)
We will stay again (if they'll have us!)

Nice sized room, lots of amenities, excellent shower
Set in fine Peak District countryside ideal for walking and mountain biking, this hotel and spa has an indoor swimming pool with views over Win Hill and the Hope Valley.
Lovely little cottage. Be aware of steep steps upstairs.
Lovely little cottage. Be aware of steep steps upstairs. Couldn’t use log burner as log store locked up . There was no property information as is usually in holiday rentals.
The car park where you could use a free parking pass was full so had to pay, which is no fault of the property.

Excellent location to Mam Tor, Winnats Pass and surrounding walks. Village pretty and quaint with a few shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs to visit. Visitors center within the village. We stayed at the Castle, nice enough. Also ate there for dinner and food and service was good.
I'd say Castleton is a place you'd stay for 1-2 nights.

We love Castleton.
We love Castleton. It is such a great place for walking, from a short walk along the river to Hope, to 3-4 hour walks to Mam Tor or Loose Hill (this includes returning to Castleton). And there are some cozy fireside pubs right in the centre of the village with good food. We have stayed overnight at 3 pubs (Ye Olde Nags Head, The Castle and The Cheshire Cheese) and its just great. A few gift shops, but no supermarkets .... which means we are not tempted to do the shopping while we are away! To be honest I don't know where the nearest supermarket is. Have fun in Castleton!

Wonderful place, have stayed many times , plenty of walks for all abilities, the caverns are well worth a visit, and Peak cavern is a brilliant venue to see live bands and films, all the pubs are warm, welcoming and all the meals we have had were good value and excellent, never mind the real ales, well worth a holiday.

Castleton is a lovely village with lots of things to do and see. You have to like hiking and hills especially. There are numerous pubs all offering similar ware and all having a warm ambiance that makes you feel welcome.
The village is full of history and is truly the gateway to a lot of hiking routes, mines, and just general nice English things you can and should do

A lovely little place!
A lovely little place!
If you like waking or friendly pubs a great location!
We went on a Friday and lots of the shops closed, not sure why?
Only small not much about to ‘wander’ but a couple of tea rooms
You can easily do a lovely loop of Castletown in under an hour.,
I love staying at YHAs in general, but they are all different: Castleton Losehill is special it is a beautiful property perfectly located in the Dark Peak- for me it's a great stopping point halfway between work and home. But more than that the villages around have tons of lovely pubs, shops, and history as well as being in a beautiful part of the world where you can go for walks long or short. YHAs are no frills but for 30 pounds to have your own room, have it be quiet and free wifi- you can't really complain.
My husband and I had a wonderful 2-night stay at Dunscar Farm. It's a lovely B&B with idyllic scenery nestled into the sheep farm and a short walk to town. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed delicious breakfast (my husband is vegan and the hosts had easy meat- and dairy-free options). Gary welcomed us when we arrived and had great tips for hiking and exploring the area.
Excellent location in the heart of beautiful Castleton.
The staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were large, clean and comfortable.
There was lots of choice for breakfast, which wasn't included but was reasonably priced.
Parking is free, but there are limited spaces, we got lucky and bagged one.
We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.
This is a lovely hotel, the bar manager was very good professional and helpful. Booked us a table in restarant. Meal excellent. Friendly staff willing to chat to us even though very busy.. Bedroom excellent comfy four poster bed and bedroom amazing. Right in the middle of castleton and hotel has their own car park.
Friendly, welcoming, and very helpful staff from the moment we arrived. The breakfasts were excellent each morning, and the homemade and freshly prepared food in the restaurant was so good we ate there each evening of our 3 day break. Best pub in Castleton, and we have already booked to return in April.
The breakfast was great and the staff are always really nice. We stayed in the same room in September so wanted to stay again as we really enjoyed it and the room was one of the best rooms we had stayed in previously and we have stayed at several different hotels in Castleton
Everything. The room was clean, spacious and had excellent views of the Derbyshire Dale's. The breakfast was excellent.
The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful countryside and only a ten minute walk across the fields to Castleton and all its eateries.
A lovely room above an historic and traditional country pub. Comfy bed, good shower and clean room with tea and coffee facilities. The cooked breakfast was exceptional, much better than most hotels and BnBs. Strongly recommend. (Close to the bus station too)
Wonderful room right in the centre of Castleton. Very comfy superking bed and great shower. Spotlessly clean. Parking right outside the door. Communication from the owner before and during the stay was great. Highly recommended.
Really lovely hotel, really nice staff. Bedroom was amazing, bed was super comfortable. Have already recommended the hotel to so many people at the event I stayed in the hotel for.
And such a beautiful view from the bedroom
Castleton is a very pretty village in the heart of the peaks. Lots of pubs to choose from. Menus very similar and we ate at three and thought Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese was top. The room was comfortable and we slept well.
Lovely large room, great breakfast, very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful area for hiking and sightseeing. Good choice of pubs / restaurants in walking distance.
Everything was perfect! I enjoyed the stay in the guesthouse, the room was very comfy and spacious. And Castleton is a beautiful village to explore the Peak District.
Breakfast was superb...the best in Castleton!
Check in was perfect. Our room was clean, warm and cosy. Staff were really friendly and helpful especially Rebecca.
