Score from 10 reviews Exceptional
location, warm and friendly atmosphere, very clean comfortable room
Comfortable room, large bathroom.
Nice but limited breakfast
Friendly welcoming owner. Comfy beds. Relaxing decor. Tasty breakfast.
Everything was very nice. My only criticism was the tea bag I used in the room had a hole in it so made a bitty cuppa;-)
Room & breakfast.
A bit out of the way from pub or restaurant something to eat
Host very good, location very good and breakfast fantastic.
Not a lot.
Warm welcome, delightful owner, lovely well maintained property and room, excellent breakfast and wifi. Nothing seemed too much trouble.
TV fixed rigidly to wall in position where it was impossible to watch eaither from the comfortable chair provided or lying on the bed. All rates on offer were for doubles...there was no reduced rate for a single traveller.
Warm and friendly welcome. Relaxed comfortable atmosphere. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Modern ensuite. Excellent breakfast
Slight traffic noise from road, although this did not disturb a really good nights sleep.
We highly recommend it, very good location, beautiful house, spotless, excellent staff and costumer service. Very good breakfast.
We had a nice familyroom. The house is close to the beach and it is a nice walk to Hythe. We stayed here only one night because we had to take the Doverferry in the morning. It was a short ride to Dover.
Great breakfast and quiet at night.
My only problem was controling the shower temporature, but a small problem and did not detract from a good stay, though brief as I was only in the area 1 night.
Lovely location and place to stay
Motor Bike was able to be parked around the back away from sight. Ideal for the Chunnel as only minutes away. A mile to the town which has plenty of places to eat with a decent pub. Excellent full english quality breakfast with plenty of coffee etc. Would definitely use again as in a far nicer location than Folkestone!
The shower cubicle in the room was very small but functional and ok for a night or two.
Good location; excellent cooked breakfast; friendly proprietors.
Radio was a bit distracting at times during breakfast
Good location, very nice and hospitable people. Most enjoyable.
Excellent breakfast and served earlier than usual time due to early channel crossing.
Breakfast choice very good and service. Bed comfortable. Nice modern en suite facilities (after initial "mistake" rectified). Room No 2
Tried to give us a room without en suite facilities upon arrival even though we had booked en suite but rectified to en suite room after being shown the on-line booking confirmation. No wardrobe in room only rail with 6 coat hangers. Sea view very distant.
Staff really nice
Needs some blackout material on curtains
Fern lodge was easy to find and had free parking. We received a warm welcome from Peter and was very helpful with information about the best places to eat and park in town. The family room was spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable and we could see the sea. Breakfast in the morning was relaxed and there was a good selection. Full English breakfast was outstanding and filled us up for the day. Best part was the staff were really friendly and made my young daughter feel welcomed which most Bed and Breakfasts don't.
A hair dryer in the room would have been helpful The room was hot in the evening but then it was a warm night
Very comfortable, very friendly and helpful welcome from Peter and an excellent breakfast.
the room was large, comfortable and clean. The owner was pleasant and chatty. The breakfast was good with a variety of different food on offer.
Made very welcome Room very clean Great breakfast
-The bedroom and bathroom were very clean -Sea View
- overgrown grounds/garden - arriving at 3.15 to find a note on door saying that there would be no-one there until 4.30/5pm - chaotic breakfast ordering - close to main road and quite noisy as a result
