Close to the middle of Stranraer and the ferry port, this family-run bed and breakfast is a stone-built Victorian building with fine woodwork and ceilings. Fernlea Guest House offers a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere. Decorated to a high standard, the guesthouse has 4 stars from the Scottish Tourist Board. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas of the house. Each room at Fernlea Guest House has a private bathroom. Local attractions include Logan Botanical Gardens, the Southern Upland Way and Portlogan (home of the BBC TV series Two Thousand Acres of Sky). Guests can use Fernlea's private parking lot for free. Everything I would expect from 4 star, we were made to feel very welcome, the owners deserve to be congratulated on the way they run the business. From the welcome we received to the breakfast it was perfect. We would certainly stay again.

Friendly staff. It was the cleanest with pristine decor,etc.I have ever experinced. It would merit an award! Having to climbthe stairs was a slight disadvantage but understandable.

My sister and I stayed 2 nights with Lynn and Kenny. We were made so welcome and felt very much at home instantly. Our room was excellent, spotless and the beds were really comfy. Food yummy and plenty of it .Decor classy, attention to detail second to none. Undoubtedly we will be back .Thanks Lynn and Kenny. Excellent.

My wife and I only stayed one night en route to Northern Ireland via Stranrear ferry. Really lovely people and all you could wish for in a b&b, clean, comfortable, good food and good value.

The owners were most friendly and helpful. The bedroom was very tastefully decorated with thoughtful touches. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented with all requests granted.altogether a very enjoyable stay.

I cannot fault this Guest House. The warmth of the welcome, the excellent rooms- spotlessly clean and nice design and the breakfast was superb! We only stayed 1 night but would have no hesitation in returning for longer stays or in recommending to friends.
