Receptionist very friendly and helpful. Breakfast delicious. Room and bathroom spotless
Noise of traffic. Not excessive but we live in a rural place so any traffic is noticeable, and what can one expect for the terrific location. Would definitely stay again but would request room at rear of property. Am sure town dwellers would not even notice
The area might not appeal to some but once inside this doesn't matter, and there is external CCTV so no need to worry about your car. Close to the international ferry if required and a short drive or walk to town. Internally it's excellent and the staff are superb. The rooms facing the main carriageway can get a bit noisy in early evening as the windows aren't the best but the traffic dies down overnight so sleep wasn't a problem. Excellent breakfast which will be cooked how you like it and the choice is good. Will stay again if in the area.
Couldn't connect to the WIFI, but not a problem as only there for 2 nights and had a good 4G signal if I needed it.
The clean room and in particular the sparkling modern bathroom
Being a little far from the city centre
Staff very friendly and helpful. Cooked breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent.
Room was small and shower also. Door entrance to lodge was not clear.
Friendly staff, Comfortable bed and clean room, enjoyed the Full English breakfast, Spacious parking.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
No shelf in bathroom for toiletries.
very good value for money and the staff are very freindly and helpfull lovely people
Very Friendly staff nothing was to much trouble.
Enjoyed our stay very much couldnt fault anything the staff were very helpful and friendly
very clean bed comfortable staff very oblidging excellent breakfast
Windows should be double glazed to stop road noise but this is just nit picking
Bathroom spotless and newly refurbished, TV free WIFI, Breakfast, very helpful staff, parking by hotel and a really great price
Very friendly reception when we arrived late evening. Proprietors very helpful and friendly, breakfast excellent. I did wonder if we would be affected by the traffic noise but this was no problem and we had a good night's sleep. Seemed like it had a recent makeover.
Not in the best area of Portsmouth and best access is from a road off of motorway.
This place is not somewhere you would stay for a holiday. Its primary purpose seems to be to cater for short stays of 1 or 2 nights. I think they themselves would admit that. I found it to be clean, very comfortable, great breakfast with friendly and helpful staff. I would book here again over staying at the Travel Lodge up the road any day. You have to appreciate it is a listed building and certain restrictions have been placed on the modernisation (sound proofing of the windows, so take ear plugs, i take them everywhere). I stayed for 1 night and was very happy with my stay. Room facilities were good with free wifi and plenty of hot drink making facilities.
Nothing really negative, i think the carpet choice was not the best in the rooms as it is a bit pale and easily shows stains etc.
We were catching the ferry early so the lovely ladies came in 15 minutes early to start breakfast earlier than normal so we could eat before travelling. Very friendly staff Comfortable beds Upgraded us to a better room
Very good breakfast staff friendy
Breakfast was very nice & substantial choice.
Room was at front of building overlooking 8 lanes of traffic - no double glazing so got hardly any sleep. Parking wasnt really secure, cars in open side car park adjacent to open footpath. Location wasnt good for finding somewhere to eat, one pub 10mun walk away or had to drive.
We were able to come and go as if it were a hotel. The breakfast was cooked individually to our liking. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Parking was plentiful and free.
Outside the hotel is very built up and the main road very close.
Lovely neat, clean and tidy B&B. Single female, but did not feel unsafe and enjoyed my stay and breakfast... thankyou...
a crying baby at 4am for one hour - but dont know if this was outside or in the hotel!
Brand new refurbishment. Convenience of location. Helpful staff
Hi rise flats around the area felt dodgy. Residents liked to swear a lot at the tops of their voices. Worried our car would still be there when we got back from trips!
The staff are excellent here. From the time of our arrival to the departure, they could not do enough for us. Thank you so much.
Comfortable, pleasant accommodation Good WiFi and TV Frequent bus service to Porstmouth centre. Good value, includes cooked breakfast
Lack of adequate hot water in the morning. Storage facilities OK for single traveller but not enough for a couple staying more than one night.
Staff friendly and helpful. Place is very clean. Located near the ferry port. Breakfast was good.
They couldn't get the heating to work on the top floor. Probably because of planning / listed building regs the windows are single-glazed, so traffic noise may be a problem.
What a fantastic B&B...staff were so helpful. The bedroom was very comfortable, the bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast great. I can't fault the place and will defintely return when I'm next in the area.
There is no restaurant facilities within walking distance but as long as you plan you are only a couple of miles from gun wharf quays.
The staff, room and breakfast was excellent and would be going back again. I would like to say a big thank to Lynn and staff.
Their is nothing I did not like about this guest house.
Ideal location for walking to ferry. Quiet, comfortable room. Helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Out of the way for exploring city and access to high quality restaurants.
