Opposite Southsea's Clarence Pier and the funfair and next to the Isle of Wight hovercraft terminal, the hotel is a great value, with free parking and modern rooms with private bathrooms.
Score from 280 reviews Very good
Lovely place and staff very friendly Would stay there again
On the main road and the traffic noise was a little loud for me.
nicely renovated, spacious bedroom, nice breakfast room
no dressing table, so could do with a shelf with a mirror or something in bedroom for ladies to do hair etc while other half in bathroom, also hook on back of bathroom door would be handy
The room was big, clean and warm. Lovely bathroom. Free wifi. Very nice breakfast. Good parking facilities
Sadly due to its location on a busy dual carriage way there is no getting away from the noise of the traffic. If you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. I would stay here again, but I'd definitely bring ear plugs.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful going the extra mile to make our stay perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. A special thank you to Lynn who saved the day by taking us to an event when we were unable to get a taxi in time. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Good choices for breakfast.
The hotel is a little out of the way and does not have its own bar.
Ideal location for access to port. Friendly, helpful staff, great breakfast!
Single bed a little narrow!
Friendly staff, very comfortable stay
The staff go the extra mile to be help and be friendly. Wonderful breakfast choice and plenty. Such a surprise when viewed from outside! Very handy for ferry. Will be staying again.Easy safe parking.
Some very slight traffic noise but no worse than other big group hotels.
Strange location on arrive that may put you off, however it has free parking and is easily accessible to Gun Wharf (£4 cab) This is a 3/4 star hotel which is update and exceptionally clean with great facilities. The bed and linen was better than most 4* hotels and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast was superb and made with high quality ingredient and they seem to make this a big deal (which is what you want!) I go to Portsmouth every year for a party and this is where I will always stay now. The blind in my bathroom was broken or rather had unravelled. This should have been put right before the guest went in. Also make sure you get very precise directions as the road flyover may be a little confusing on google maps. If you don't like traffic noise request a room away from the road. Overall, excellent value for service and quality accomodation. Jim
Friendly welcome, decent room for a reasonable price. Close to the city, only a short walk away. Breakfast was one of the best we have had in a b&b. Decent modern clean bathroom with good shower.
Dull hum of road noise as single glazing and next to a main road. Bathroom lovely and clean, as was main part of bedroom but under the bed needed a good Hoover as this has been neglected other than that would definately recommend and would stay again.
Great room very clean comfy nice staff
Noisy road at the end I was in
Very friendly, welcoming staff. Comfortable well equipped rooms and wonderful breakfast.
Although it was walking distance to Portsmouth town it was a shame about the position of the b&b close to the main road. Wouldn't stop us stalling again though.
Staff very friendly and accommodating, lots of choice for breakfast and rooms were clean and comfortable .
Heating in our room wasn't working but not an issue as weather was mild.
Bed was extremely comfy, breakfast was great and staff were friendly.
Road noise and our "deluxe room" wasn't as described.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very nice. Comfortable bed.
Location isn't brilliant but wouldn't stop me going back.
things that went bump in the night when turning water on
Excellent location for the ferry terminal. Warm & friendly welcome on arrival & at breakfast. Excellent tasty breakfast. Would definatley stay again.
Room lightly too warm - difficult to adjust heating as the radiator cover was hard to move - the room was on a busy road so didn't want to open window. Wouldn't put me off staying again though.
The rooms were immaculate and comfortable and the breakfast was fresh and tasty, very helpful friendly staff
Very noisy as on dual carraigeway
Close to the Port, clean, good warm room with newish bathroom. Safe off road parking, friendly Staff
No Restaurants nearby.
Great room with comfy bed. Nice shower-room, not huge but served the purpose. One of the best breakfasts we have had in a B&B, they even had green tea and whole meal toast for fussy old me. The staff were helpful and attentive, nothing too much trouble. Excellent value for money.
Poor water pressure in shower. Noise from road.
nice, well appointed room with superb ensuite facilities
noise from nearby road - windows need sound-proofing traffic noise was heard late into the early hours & then early Sunday morning
Very clean bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very pleasant and attentive
Nothing to complain about
Beautiful decor. Room had everything and more. Very accommodating and friendly.
Had to wait for hot water in the shower and to the hot tap. Breakfast started too late for my departure time.
Made to feel welcome, helped with luggage and given a cup of coffee after a tiring journey. Breakfast brilliant and can't fault the place!
Perfect for those going to and from Ferry - only 5 mins away by car. Staff v. friendly. Great full breakfast incl. Only 5 mins walk away from shopping centre with all main stores. Would book again.
- Hairs in the bath - Pipes made a lot of noise when the water was turned on - Water went off mid shower - Noisy room located opposite a dual carriageway, with no double glazing - Eating area constantly smelled of fried food as kitchen was too close to where diners sat Sorry but won't be going back.
