we liked the proximity to loughbourough uni, where we were visiting. can take dog free of charge. good value if you get a deal. comfy bed. only one waitress at breakfast on a busy morning,so she did her best but had to apologise continually to all diners for things not being served at once etc. And as on a previous visit, there was one remaining croissant on buffet, even though only shortly after 8.30, and she didnt have time to re stock. Also, although a dog friendly hotel, they are not allowed in any bars.

Very convenient to M1 J22, but quiet location. Hotel a bit faded in places (see below) but perfectly adequate. Staff very friendly and helpful but seemed a bit over-worked - but it was a busy night. Managed to rustle up a cold platter just before the kitchen closed; food was good in quality and value. Had to wait 10 minutes to check in. Towel rail fell off wall, and bathroom light fitting fell into wash basin in the middle of the night!

We found the Fieldhead Hotel, Freindly, comfortable and relaxed. When we stayed there was a wedding going on, but that didnt mean less attention was paid to other guests, we felt well looked after.

Good location and offers really top class facilities. Our room was well appointed with oak furniture, a top quality bathroom suite and an amazingly comfortable mattress. It was also much larger than we expected - rm.18 will be occupied by us again. Breakfast was also top quality and very much enjoyed.

Friendly, comfortable and affordable. Food was excellent, with a good range on offer for breakfast. Room was spacious and pleasantly decorated, as well as clean and comfortable. Walls rather thin, so we could clearly hear our neighbours, which was rather unfortunate!! Furniture in restaurant/breakfast area was a little too informal.

It was a very comfortable hotel, the reception staff were very friendly on arrival which is always a good indication of the hotel. We were there for a birthday party and the bar staff in the evening were very friendly but polite too. Would definately use the hotel again and would pass details onto friends.

The service was very slow. I do not feel there were enough staff . We had to wait at reception for 5 minutes both checking in and out. The evening meal took over 2 hours ..it was an hour before we got our starters. At breakfast it was a further hour and tea and coffee arrived after the food ....the hotel itself however was comfortable and staff who were on duty di their best but were overstretched.

Having used Fieldhead previously, we would always choose this hotel in preference to others in the area. The rooms are excellent and the restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price.

The building, the manager was very good and it has a large car park. The dinner was tasty but not hot enough. Good choices on the menu and a very nice room. The waiting staff apart from one girl at breakfast let this hotel down. I am not sure if it is lack of training or apathy. Or perhaps we were just unlucky.

There was a young blonde girl on the evening we stayed who was the absolute saving grace of this hotel (poor girl, all she did was apologize). We didn't get her name but she was only young with tied back blonde hair, short in stature, but not in manners. Well done and wish we knew her name. Our stay was Saturday 11th so perhaps you will be able to work it out from that and give her our thanks. Referring back to our previous comments, a couple behind us were told the chef had made a mistake and made their starters and mains together. Hence the girl starts her apologies on the chefs behalf. Then she has to apologise to us as to our amazement we were told we couldn't order from the valentines menu as we hadn't booked it, (a bit too much micro managing going on here I think). Our weekend was a valentines treat so not very happy about the let down. If you are that bothered about organisation, ask me on the phone when I booked the table for that weekend if I would like the Valentines menu. The whole set up seemed all al bit Faulty Towers. Very tired hotel. Room 1 smells of dirty nappies.

It was a convenient location for where we wanted to visit and very good value for money. The staff were very helpful but the hotel let themselves down slightly by having run out of a variety of drinks behind the bar and quite a lot of food options that were on the menu. Breakfast was very good.
