The hotel had retained many if it's original features and grandness. Staff were helpful and good was good. Would stay there again. Not far from longleat safrai park.

    Cheap, local and pretty house.

Breakfast menu said fruits was served but they were not. Breakfast staff tried to take out order before we even sat down on the chairs. In a hurry I guess.

The location was good and the staff were excellent.

No hot water when I wanted a shower at 10:25 pm. Almost no water pressure in shower in morning. Very basic TV with an indoor aerial hence reception poor.

    New clean towels

The bed was so lumpy it was like sleeping in a bowl, well in fact we didn't sleep at all. The breakfast was disgusting and obviously they have had problems in the past as they put a clause about sickness and diarrhoea in the welcome booklet. We complained about the bed but all the staff done was turn the mattress over and hope we didn't notice. The spa was vey dated and not very clean , the jacuzzi was cloudy I though the water should be clear? I felt so dirty after staying at this hotel all I wanted to do when I got home was to clean myself and my belongings. I cannot believe we stayed there But couldn't afford to go elsewhere! We did in fact joke about it in the end and call it faulty towers after the tv programme. A major injection of cash is required for this hotel

good price , excellent breakfast , friendly helpful staff especially dining room .

the room we had no 14 i think was a bit small considering the bathroom was bigger than the bedroom , . It seemed like we had to travel a long way to get to the dining room , but i suppose that is the nature of the lay out of these old houses

Friendly staff. Choice of bar food or full restaurant. Restaurant was great. Good breakfast.

Low water pressure on top floor and LOW beam in bathroom almost knocked me out. Hard to find.

Very comfortable room and huge bathroom, much larger than expected for a single (it was a large double). Special offer on room prices was excellent value for money. Fun and friendly staff - a pleasure to chat the family members who own and run the hotel. Interesting genuine Victorian interiors. Delicious dinner with generous potions. Pleasant fields and village nearby for evening stroll.

If traveling by train/bus it is quite far from town bus/rail stations. A lot of guests to the health club mean some areas get wear and tear and could do with freshening up. The garden is an unexploited potential ;-)

I would not recommend anyone stay there really. It appears management has cut costs beyond the acceptable. The staff was very inconsistent. I waited to pay while my husband and son carried the luggage from our room to the car, packed the car and we all still had to wait while the receptionist talked to a therapist on the phone. The only wifi access is in the lounge so we went down at 6:50pm to work and asked for a drink and when the waitress asked the chef to help since she was under age (yes a lounge) he said no way, he was too busy and banged stuff around. Apparently it didn't open until 7pm, that's all they would have needed to say, but 7pm on a weekend, really? There were 7 people for dinner and it took over 45 minutes to get our meal. Our room had water damage from an open window that was so bad the floor was mushy to walk on in parts and all the lino was lifted in one half the bathroom, some mold in the shower and not really hot water. There were signs though, one said only use the toliet, shower or sink but not two at once, second one, not responsible for lost items (this was in the room on a full piece of paper) I just wonder how they are still in business, I feel bad for the staff, some look to be trying but obviously the managment/ownership is not providing the tools. The property has great potential but it needs a complete redo.

Hotel was rather dated and a little 'tired'. We were told we had the 'best room' in the hotel but it was quiet small and the 'balcony' was not clean enough to use. We skipped eating at the hotel as we were told the Hotel was 'full' but we only saw one couple using the dining room.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room pleasant and beds comfy. Liked the pool and facilities. Easy travelling to Bath.

Nothing really except would have liked wifi access in room but then lots of hotels don't provide that yet.
