A incredibly friendly welcome greets you at this lovely, modern, exceptionally clean b&b with a hearty breakfast this is a highly recommended place to stay!
I couldn't find fault with the b&b!
The room was modern and comfortable with a great ensuite. The breakfast was perfect - cereals, fresh fruit that day and superb full english choices.
everything was has hoped.
Loved this B & B ...its just a shame I wasn't there longer. Owners were really friendly on arrival, and helped me out with very clear directions for where i needed to be the next day and great suggestions for dinner off site.Had to leave early next morning as was volunteering for the York Marathon. I was offered a bacon sandwich to take with me as I didn't have time for breakfast. Room was gorgeous, a decent size for a single room. Loved having a fridge in the room with a pint of freash milk for the tea :-). Will certainly recommend ato others and will defo return, hopefully for longer.
This was my second stay and I hope to stay there again soon. This time I was given the paddock room which feels very private and self contained. There is an actual paddock outside the door with several small horses - lovely! Room has lots of nice touches (free chocolate bar!!) and a great shower. I slept soundly. Breakfast was tasty too. Full marks again from me.
The greeting and offer of a hot drink brought to the room; nothing was too much trouble. The genuine friendliness of the meet and greet. The really EXCELLENT breakfast.
Road noise but I suppose expected given the accessibility to the A1079 and to York
Host, facilities, and gardens with animals and fish were great. Nice breakfast also. Would book again.
Extremely welcoming and accommodating staff- I asked whether I could have a very early breakfast (at 6pm) and got a tray with croissants, cornflakes etc the night before! I really felt "at home" straight away...
Lovely room, good menu for breakfast, very friendly welcome, would highly recommend .
Main road very busy during the day.
Located close to excellent restaurants. Rural setting, easy to find. Friendly, welcoming hosts. Thoughtfully appointed, comfortable & spacious room. Hard to find any faults.
Location perfect for us.Hosts and staff very welcoming.Spotlessly clean throughout.Breakfast - big choice, well cooked and plenty of it! Delightful garden and animals friendly. Will recommend to others.
The accommodation was delightful with lovely touches. The setting is tranquil and made it very east to de- stress after a nightmare 7 hour journey. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens and animals were lovely edpecially toffee the Shetland who knows his name! Breakfast was great and the location outside of the city was great, we were doing the university open day and that was excellent. A great choice and we are very fussy!
Liked everything- the only muggle we had was the shower in daughters room didn't work too well in the morning- too hot or too cold.
Beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed. Lovely and clean and smelt nice as we walked in the door. Easy walk to nearby pub for excellent meal.
Couldn't connect to wifi in our room
Everything...nothing to fault from the very happy smiling owner as she welcomed us, the lovely room that was finished to a high standard, ample breakfasts, lovely relaxing "pagoda with water feature" area in the public area(one would not expect this in a B and B)the seven animals in the paddock and the overall ambience of the "Fifth Milestone Cottage"
Only staying there two nights, leaving Wednesday morning and finding "lesser" accommodation!!!!! Should have stayed at Fifth Milestone.
We loved everything about our stay, the accommodation was exceptional. Staff extremely helpful and welcoming. Lovely cake and tea on arrival (inclusive). Breakfast wonderful. Loved the animals in the rear field.
Absolutely nothing everything was great.
Extremely nice room (Lavender family room). Lots of character Extremely friendly, welcoming, efficient staff. I even got a cup of tea and some chocolate cake when I arrived!
So close to a busy road, light sleepers may not get much sleep...
Welcoming was superb made us feel really comfy, room was great, included a fridge with water as well as tea coffee etc, would highly recommend it
We rented 3 bedrooms, including a family room. The host was very friendly. We arrived late. She helped us to reserve a table in a pub for our late dinner. We received a warm welcome when checking in. The garden was beautiful. Every corner was good for photo taking. We loved the breakfast which was made by order. My kids loved to feed the ponies and the goats after breakfast.
My sister did not like the mattress, but the rest of us were fine with it.
Our double bedroom and its facilities. The breakfast - a wide selection of dishes including fresh fruit, cereals and variants of Full English. The surrounds - gardens, animals, children's' play ground. The feminine touch in décor and facilities. The host and hostess could not have been more charming and interesting.
Not much. Steep stairs and exit from the property to the main road. Benefits far exceeded what we did not like
Enjoyed my 4 night stay and hope to stay here again. Room was comfortable with several nice little touches (fridge with pint of milk, different chocolate biscuit each day, towel tied with ribbon, etc). Well organised breakfast room with plenty of lovely fresh fruit each day to put on my breakfast cereal. Spacious parking too!
Very enjoyable stay, lovely outdoor facilities such as the decking and animals! Very nice breakfast and kind helpful owner
Too hot to sleep, a fan would have been perfect
Friendlyness, helpfullness and hospitality of a caring host. Cleanliness, comfort and super breakfast. The lovely gardens and seating area for each room.
Unfortunately due to prior planning we only had two nights stay
Very friendly & helpful staff
Very clean. More than enough for 2 people with a little private patio - nice extra bonus. Nice spacious bathroom. Lovely breakfast and Terri was very friendly.
Chris and Terri were very welcoming, friendly, rooms very high standard and very comfortable, breakfast was amazing. highly recommended
The sausages and wet roon
