Booked for my 40th birthday celebrations and I was not disappointed. We stayed two nights in lovely surroundings and beautiful room (Orchard room) with a huge bathroom. Terri was lovely and extremely helpful and it was a lovely touch to receive a bottle of bubbly in our room. Superb breakfast with a great choice of fruit, cereal, pastries, toast, juice and teas followed by a choice of cooked breakfast.......the full english is outstanding and the omelettes are delicious. We will definitely be back soon.
the rooms are decorated beautifully, ground floor access and car parking space right by door to take bags in. Cup of tea on arrival. Twin room arrangement: beds on opposite sides rather than next to each other meaning greater privacy. Breakfast: fresh and delicious. Ponies: very cute.
cannot think of anything to write here.
Friendly greeting champagne In room as our birthday weekend. Excellent location really enjoyed ourselves
Everything about the place & the staff. The owner was absolutely lovely, the room was very clean and cosy. The breakfast was great. We will definitely stay there again.
Nothing. We had trouble with our heating but this was fixed immediately and the Owner was kind enough to compensate us by offering us free breakfasts. Top notch service and felt like a home away from home.
Everything about this place gets the thumbs up.
Overall atmosphere was fine; kids (of all ages) will probably love the animals in the paddock. Nice rooms, Excellent breakfast
If you advertise WiFi - it really needs to work in ALL of the rooms not just the main building (repeaters aren't that expensive after all). Some noise from the main road nearby.
a great location, not far to the park and ride into York. Very comfortable rooms, good breakfast, and very good host. kids enjoyed feeding the animals.
all very good we were going to a wedding in York they kindly booked our taxi for us and very helpful , my daughter and I had enjoya.ble weekend would go there again
Hot water position of hotel
Beds and sofa very uncomfotable also very squeaky noisy pipes
Nice room, clean and spacious. Quite location.
The heating timer on the wall was noisy and near the bed and not able to switch it off. Breakfast starts @08:00 no good if you need to be out and about early....
A incredibly friendly welcome greets you at this lovely, modern, exceptionally clean b&b with a hearty breakfast this is a highly recommended place to stay!
I couldn't find fault with the b&b!
The room was modern and comfortable with a great ensuite. The breakfast was perfect - cereals, fresh fruit that day and superb full english choices.
everything was has hoped.
Loved this B & B ...its just a shame I wasn't there longer. Owners were really friendly on arrival, and helped me out with very clear directions for where i needed to be the next day and great suggestions for dinner off site.Had to leave early next morning as was volunteering for the York Marathon. I was offered a bacon sandwich to take with me as I didn't have time for breakfast. Room was gorgeous, a decent size for a single room. Loved having a fridge in the room with a pint of freash milk for the tea :-). Will certainly recommend ato others and will defo return, hopefully for longer.
This was my second stay and I hope to stay there again soon. This time I was given the paddock room which feels very private and self contained. There is an actual paddock outside the door with several small horses - lovely! Room has lots of nice touches (free chocolate bar!!) and a great shower. I slept soundly. Breakfast was tasty too. Full marks again from me.
The greeting and offer of a hot drink brought to the room; nothing was too much trouble. The genuine friendliness of the meet and greet. The really EXCELLENT breakfast.
Road noise but I suppose expected given the accessibility to the A1079 and to York
Host, facilities, and gardens with animals and fish were great. Nice breakfast also. Would book again.
Extremely welcoming and accommodating staff- I asked whether I could have a very early breakfast (at 6pm) and got a tray with croissants, cornflakes etc the night before! I really felt "at home" straight away...
Lovely room, good menu for breakfast, very friendly welcome, would highly recommend .
Main road very busy during the day.
Located close to excellent restaurants. Rural setting, easy to find. Friendly, welcoming hosts. Thoughtfully appointed, comfortable & spacious room. Hard to find any faults.
Location perfect for us.Hosts and staff very welcoming.Spotlessly clean throughout.Breakfast - big choice, well cooked and plenty of it! Delightful garden and animals friendly. Will recommend to others.
The accommodation was delightful with lovely touches. The setting is tranquil and made it very east to de- stress after a nightmare 7 hour journey. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens and animals were lovely edpecially toffee the Shetland who knows his name! Breakfast was great and the location outside of the city was great, we were doing the university open day and that was excellent. A great choice and we are very fussy!
Liked everything- the only muggle we had was the shower in daughters room didn't work too well in the morning- too hot or too cold.
Beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed. Lovely and clean and smelt nice as we walked in the door. Easy walk to nearby pub for excellent meal.
Couldn't connect to wifi in our room
Everything...nothing to fault from the very happy smiling owner as she welcomed us, the lovely room that was finished to a high standard, ample breakfasts, lovely relaxing "pagoda with water feature" area in the public area(one would not expect this in a B and B)the seven animals in the paddock and the overall ambience of the "Fifth Milestone Cottage"
Only staying there two nights, leaving Wednesday morning and finding "lesser" accommodation!!!!! Should have stayed at Fifth Milestone.
We loved everything about our stay, the accommodation was exceptional. Staff extremely helpful and welcoming. Lovely cake and tea on arrival (inclusive). Breakfast wonderful. Loved the animals in the rear field.
Absolutely nothing everything was great.
Extremely nice room (Lavender family room). Lots of character Extremely friendly, welcoming, efficient staff. I even got a cup of tea and some chocolate cake when I arrived!
So close to a busy road, light sleepers may not get much sleep...
