We liked the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, the lovely features of the building and the peace and quiet, the rooms had everything you could need. Enjoyed our stay. Cannot think of anything we didn't like.

The restaurant I arrived very late 9pm I was tired and hungry. I went straight into the restaurant, and looked at the limited menu. Decided upon the chicken soup and beef stroganof. I was sitting not too far from the kitchen, and my hearing alerted me to a door in the kitchen sliding open, when I glanced in that direction I saw the unmistakeable site of tins of heinz soups in the cupboard. I then heard the closing of a door and a short while later the "ping" of a microwave oven. And then my soup was delivered to my table. As I stated earlier I was tired and hungry so I ate the soup without comment (am I a little gullible to be surprised that I get served tinned soup in a hotel) My soup dish was taken away and again I heard the closing of the microwave door and the inevitable "ping" When my stroganof arrived I really thought that I had been served something else. I expect beef stroganof to be strips of beef and partially chopped mushrooms in a white sauce The dish was served to me with a spoon, it looked like chilli con carne, I asked if they had served me something else because this doesnt even look like beef stroganof, the guy went back into the kitchen (presumably to check the packaging) and came back to tell me the reason that it doesnt look like beef stroganof is because it is pre cooked. I told him that I could not eat it and left the restaurant still hungry. I will not return

The warm friendly welcome and peaceful atmosphere of the old house. The rooms were clean and the facilities good - we were able to watch the Grand National on the large television in the lounge. All staff were very helpful. The full English breakfast could have been better. Good choice of cereals, yoghurt and toast were on offer before the cooked meal arrived (great), but there were too many mushrooms (which we don't like) and no baked beans! However, I'm sure that if we had asked beforehand, they would have left off the mushrooms and given us an alternative.

Very convenient location Freezing cold cheap electric showers - awful. Freezing cold conservatory where both breakfast and evening meals are served in sub zero temperatures. Food is very expensive considering the very small portion sizes. Breakfasts not much better, no variety - certainly not value for money. Staff not very friendly

close to local business Needs major investment, my first room had no outside windows nor air and was like a hot claustrophobic box. My second room having asked for a move had an old electric shower that either scalded or froze. I spent 15 mins trying to get it to a safe and comfortable temparature then had to dress and ask to have access to another room in order to shower which made me late for work.

Very friendly staff and beautiful hotel (decoration). This was perfect for me as I needed something fairly cheap but with good quality just for a night. It would be even better if they served food all day long as I had to take the car and go in town to get some.

I really liked the room and the fact that it was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very good heating system, a nice hotel. I ordered the continental breakfast and it wasn't what I expected. As opposed to the English breakfast, the continental one was very poor. They both have the same price, 10 pounds but what you get in the continental one is not worth 10 quid. A minor issue with the decor - the buddha statues have nothing to do with the overall theme of the hotel.

Location for our requirements. We booked a room for two people yet the facilities were just for one. Ie one cup and saucer and one set of towels. In the room two lightbulbs did not work. Reception was informed about towels and cup and saucer but no response. Finally when I paid by debit card there machine was jammed with paper. I was asked to key my pin no again and on checking my Bank A.C. I find that I have been charged twice. Have phoned the hotel and reception said they would have to speak to the Manager and phone back.Still no reply.

Easy access and comfortable acommodation. It is more of a b & b than a hotel as staff come in early to clean rooms and then leave and are not available until the next day. There is no room service available, nor any services available out of peak hours.
