Comfortable rooms. Rural location yet handy for the City. No shortage of free car parking. Accommodation spotlessly clean. Good hot water and heating system. Dining room overlooking golf course. Breakfast with plenty of choices and well prepared. Staff friendly. In sum a comfortable overnight stay at a price which represented excellent value. I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and will undoubtedly return. Room shower only; for longer stay bath would have been an asset.

Full English breakfast was good and served with hot toast and tea. Staff could not have been more helpful. Would definitely go back The golf course relatively short and would recommend a buggy as very hilly.

Hospitality excellent - nothing was too much and even though we might have been late arriving they were prepared to stay up for us - we arrived 10.03pm! Slept well in a very comfortable room and the breakfast was just what we needed -thank you!

We stayed in the cabins and found them to be of excellent quality and value for money. Better than cabins we have stayed at on other sites and finished to a very high standard. All essentials included (such as fresh linen and towels) so the stay was as luxurious as staying in a hotel but with the benefit of having your own space and facilities. The heating wasn't on in our cabin when we arrived and it was freezing! Perhaps it could be turned on when you are expecting guests to stay! This was a minor complaint though and doesn't overshadow our excellent experience here.

Relaxed atmosphere as you would expect from a golf club, good straight forward meals at the bar, could do with a bit more variety if there is a slight criticism, breakfast particularly good value for money. Dont expect 4 start luxury at these prices but for a comfortable roof over your head then it is excellent value, staff very pleasant and good natured.

Convenient access to Exeter. Comfy room (room 3) good breakfast freshly cooked and easy check in and out. Liked the look of golf although we did not use it on this occasion Window iin room was broken and could not be shut properly. This meant road and traffic noise as well as wind woke us on several occasions More sound proofing would be good

After having our room double booked we got moved to a lodge cabin .when arriving to the cabin the floor was covered in flys dead&alive. I then reported this and the staff told me the room hadnt been cleaned for 2days!! I was shocked then got moved to the other cabin over the other side of fingle glen I was unhappy about this because I was with a group of family&friends. So was split from them. When arriving for the third time I found mould all around the shower in the smaller bathroom. The smell was awful as you could imagine from a mouldy bathroom (took pictures shall report). Apart from that the staff were so helpful and the rest of the cabin was wonderful. Just put a bit of a downer on our stay & I wasnt being moved for a fourth time! Being moved two times! First time - double booked room second time- due to flys being invested all over the carpet the cabin we put up with has a mouldy bathroom which stinks! I wouldnt pay out this much money for a place like that. I have pictures of the mouldy bathroom.

Excellent location for our needs and staff were extremely helpful Only comment would be that when there is a function on at the hotel it can be fairly noisy outside which you can hear in the bedrooms but this wouldn't deter us from staying again.

The availability of a suite There were a couple of things that negatively impacted on our stay. We were told in an offhand way when we checked in that there was a function on in the evening - but were not given any further details, nor given the opportunity to ask! The function turned out to be an extremely loud disco, due to finish at 12:30 am. It sounded as though the dj was in our room, and that the people running up and down the back staircase were going to crash in on us! We complained at 23:00 pm and were then moved into one of the lodges - this meant transporting our 2 year old in the car around the gold course to a new environment - and a sleep less night.....although the cabin was lovely, it had no tea or coffee available. I had also contacted the hotel prior to our arrival to enquire about availability of beauty treatments during our stay, but received no response. On arrival, I enquired again to be told that the beautician had gone home, as she had no appointments!

Helpful staff, comfortable room, and pleasant breakfast Unfortunately no-one was at reception when we arrived and after a long wait we had to find someone at the bar to check us in. There was no mention of a charity cycle event taking place on the sunday morning which disturbed us as people started arriving for it very early. We had a room at the front of the hotel, it would have been quiter if we had been given a room away from the main entrance. A little more thought as to how guests might be disturbed by other events at the hotel would have prevented this.
