Firgrove Hotel  

i have stayed at the firgrove for the last 5 yrs and i believe it caters for all we need for our w/end in blackpool the rooms are clean the breakfasts are nice and the staff are friendly its not the ritz but for a bed for the night after a good time in blackpool it suits me and my friends fine

You get what you pay for so I suppose so I didnt have high expectations. The hotel staff were very friendly and down to earth. The rooms werent good but the sheets and towels were clean. The breakfast was pretty good too.

The rooms were very outdated and it did make me chuckle to see that when they had decorated the room they had left the picture nailed to the wall and therefore painted all over the picture frame. The tv didnt work but we werent in Blackpool paying for a cheap b and b to stay in and watch tv all weekend.

Good location for train station and pubs ,eating places,entertainment, the duke of york next door has the best value , good quality meals and karaoke for our age group

In need of total refurbishment,but ok for hen ,stag nights

Staff were very helpful and accomodating, breakfast great, few minutes walk into town.

Bedrooms in need of decorating and furniture all needs replacing as old and worn.

Staff were friendly otherwise Nothing.

Coffee and Tea facilities consisted of 5 tea bags, 1 coffee satchet, 2 powder milks, 3 sugars. Plus 3 odd mugs and no spoons. The bedding had brown stains on the duvets the carpets needed hoovering the decoration was overall in poor condition. The shower had no soaps etc whatsoever and was tiny with little room to dress etc. The remainder of the Hotel was shabby and dirty. On the scale of 1 to 10, I rate this Hotel 2 only due to the friendly staff. Be wise stay well away unless very desperate.

Little

Bugs in the bed. Smashed bathroom window. Blocked toilet. Stains up the walls & floors. Woman complaining @ reception of blood on her "fresh" bed sheets. Broken lights/wardrobes/beds. You may find it funny for me to say so, but I really am not the type of person that complains. Surely this hotel doesn't meet with the standards required to be in operation? I booked a total of 6 rooms to share between me & 10 friends & every 1 of us was disgusted by our respective rooms (we even had to change 2 rooms due to the bugs in the bed & the blocked toilet). Not that the replacements were much better.

The exit

After booking online we were expecting a nice weekend break only to be sorely dissapointed the rooms were dirty and we were kept awake due to the constant noise by the other residents coming in from the night clubs and then partying till the early hours as we are a mature couple we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs watching our steps on the very worn carpet to an attic room which was so tiny as the lift didn,t work we felt there were several health and safety issues at this hotel and should be delt with asap we found the chef sleeping on the seats where we were to eat breakfast so we didn,t stay to eat this doesn,t set a good example with staff so unprofessional

We found the hotel value for money although dated it was clean homely and relaxing the breakfast was out of this world the staff could not of been more helpful and friendly it was close to all pubs bars and night life we will be retuning again and met several guests that had been before.this hotel is just the right place to see blackpool have a good night out

The hotel can really do with a good makeover the wallpaper is falling off and the beds are falling apart but it is amazing, the staff are unreal, they are very very helpful and want you to have the best time they really do accomodate you and the breakfast is fantastic. A real family run relaxed hotel, highly recommend for hen/stag parties x x will definately be back x
