Reasonable price, decent breakfast, good location I asked for a quiet room. We got a very small one (no.16) which would have been quiet if the people in no.15, upon returning at approx 2.30 a.m., had not proceeded to laugh and slam doors for about 90 minutes. The paper thin walls were not up to the test.

Perfect position for visiting family in the area and just a couple of minutes in car to station for a 25 mins journey to King's Cross. Staff very accommodating -our early breakfasts request no problem. Comfy bar area for a night cap. Room nice and warm, plenty of hot water. Staff efficient and service with a smile. Cooked breakfast good. Petrol station close by. Shall use again.

It was clean well maintained the staff were friendly and cheerful. It felt personal and comforting. They work very hard to keep a good hotel. I enjoyed my stay very much and the bed was superb no backache at all I nearly didn't want to get out!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were very nice with fresh fruit and plenty of choice. Room was compact but had everything you would need for a short visit. The beds were made with sheets and blankets rather than duvets.

Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was first rate. There were some very noisy guests who at 4a.m very still talking very loudly.

The staff were very friendly and it was a bonus that we could check in at 9:30am. The full English breakfast was excellent, no grease in sight! The beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean...what more could you want from a hotel. I would definately stay here again.

Although evidently not set up for children (no highchairs), they weren't phased by my 1 year old daughter. A previous guest had clearly had flowers in the room and the dirty vase was left in the room - at an ideal height for my 1 year old daughter to "investigate"

Did not use bar or facilities as we were visiting family for the weekend. Room and breakfast were perfect as far as we were concerned. This was my second stay at Firs Hotel and I will certainly stay again.

Convenient for purpose. Breakfast very good. Could do with a bit of an update!! Especially the beds with really old blankets and the pillows could do with a change. The reception area and carpets could do with a makeover to brighten the place up.
