The room was small and dated. Certainly not a luxury room. There were ants in the sugar bowl at breakfast time. The fruit salad at breakfast looked very unappetising.Disappointing.

Fantastic value for money, especially all the extras in your room ie: chocolate, bottled water, twinnings teabags, bathroom amenities etc.. Extremely friendly and helpful staff who allowed us to check in early as the room was ready. Only stayed one night but would definitely stay again. Nothing, liked it all. Can't think of anything!

The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was very clean and comfortable and a fantastic on suite. The food was fantastic and the young lady who served us in the evening and for breakfast was out standing. Her service and ability to talk with us was fantastic. This was my first break with my partner and couldnt have wished for any better

Superb friendly staff. Excellent restaurant and good beer. Rooms had plenty of character, yet very clean, plenty of towels, and several nice touches such as real milk for the tea/coffee and even a chocolate bar for the wife! Very good breakfast included in room price. Highly recommended for a nice quiet overnight stay when visiting the New Forest Area.

We wanted a countryside inn, and that's what we got. Roaring fire, lovely bar / lounge. Good food and a lovely spacious room. Staff were welcoming, polite and friendly. Definitely stay there again.

The pub was welcoming and comfortable. We had an evening meal which was excellent, as was the breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and I loved the little extras, such as the really good quality toiletries. The bed was more comfy than the one at home!

Location Room 8 bathroom too hot. Fluff etc in bathroom fan. Condensation in bedroom. Lack of fire escape notices. Very disappointing evening meal main course (venison stew - grisley, few vegetables). Overall, very tired decor.

Staff friendly and helpful. Had both lunch and evening meal in hotel, food was hot, with good service, good size portions. Room was well presented(In outside facility) with good selection of tea/coffees, bottled water, right down to the flask of fresh milk and bar of chocolate! Because of mobility problems I found the bed to be uncomfortable so didn't have much sleep, maybe investing in mattress toppers, but that was my personal experience.don't let this put anyone sraying here.

Everything about our stay was great from the flask of fresh milk on arrival to the well refurbished bedroom with many little extras, to the excellent breakfast in the morning. The staff were welcoming; nothing was too much trouble. It was clean and comfortable. Our only regret was that we did not eat there in the evening as the menu looked inviting and reasonable. The restaurant had been refurbished to a high standard. I would definitely stay at this establishment again as it is obviously well run by Fuller Smith and Turner P.L.C.

The staff are very helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed the breakfasts as well and an evening meal. Though the weather was quite mixed, the short stay was just what we needed with Mr Taylor just having finished 36 days of radiotherapy for cancer.

From the moment we arrived and booked in, the service provided were first rate, we were taken to our room (which does not normally happen) and shown where everything was. The evening was spent in the resturant and after enjoying a 1st class meal we retired to the pub for the rest of the evening, breakfast choice was lovely also. In fact the whole weekend was very enjoyable and we will be revisiting the Fisherman's Haunt in the early new year.
