From the moment we arrived and booked in, the service provided were first rate, we were taken to our room (which does not normally happen) and shown where everything was. The evening was spent in the resturant and after enjoying a 1st class meal we retired to the pub for the rest of the evening, breakfast choice was lovely also. In fact the whole weekend was very enjoyable and we will be revisiting the Fisherman's Haunt in the early new year.

Staff friendly and helpful. Had both lunch and evening meal in hotel, food was hot, with good service, good size portions. Room was well presented(In outside facility) with good selection of tea/coffees, bottled water, right down to the flask of fresh milk and bar of chocolate! Because of mobility problems I found the bed to be uncomfortable so didn't have much sleep, maybe investing in mattress toppers, but that was my personal experience.don't let this put anyone sraying here.

Everything about our stay was great from the flask of fresh milk on arrival to the well refurbished bedroom with many little extras, to the excellent breakfast in the morning. The staff were welcoming; nothing was too much trouble. It was clean and comfortable. Our only regret was that we did not eat there in the evening as the menu looked inviting and reasonable. The restaurant had been refurbished to a high standard. I would definitely stay at this establishment again as it is obviously well run by Fuller Smith and Turner P.L.C.

Lovely hotel with welcoming and friendly staff. We arrived later than expected but were still offered a sandwich even though the kitchen staff had gone home - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent with a choice to suit everyone.

My second visit. Can't fault it. Friendly highly competent staff. Good food. Excellent room with nice extras like chocolate and fresh milk in room. I will always try this place first when in the area. Simply the best.

The staff are very helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed the breakfasts as well and an evening meal. Though the weather was quite mixed, the short stay was just what we needed with Mr Taylor just having finished 36 days of radiotherapy for cancer.

The location was ideal as a base for the new forest and for the beaches of Christchurch, Bournemouth, Poole etc. it has a nice oldy worldy feel with a cosy atmosphere. The menu was a bit limited, and although there was a specials board, by 7:30pm on Saturday evening, most of them were sold out. So limited choice from the standard menu. Very much pub grub which wasnt up to much and quite pricey for what you got. The room had been refurbished and was ok, bed was a bit saggy though! Also the bathroom hadnt been refurbished with paint peeling off the ceiling and tiles around the bath very mouldy.

Good service, nice room and bathroom. Location is good also - fairly quiet and relaxing. Food in bar nice also. Room 9 was very hot - couldn't control the radiator so be prepared for a very humid night's sleep!

The location near the river Avon and other places of interest to visit such as Mudeford, Highcliffe and, of course, the Priory Church in Christchurch itself. The hotel although near the road was quiet, comfortable and friendly.

Room very comfortable and well stocked with complimentary consumables. Warm room, comfortable bed and the adjacent inn provided fine food and ales. Bathroom ceiling requires a coat of paint as was peeling - thats it though.

Our room facilities/comfort level and the breakfast were excellent as well as excellent value for the room rate (£98 double 2 nights). All the staff were very friendly and helpful. BTW, I clicked 'other' above as our reason for choosing the hotel because we chose it for combination of price, convenient location for our stay and reputation (the guests' reviews). The quality of the one dinner we had there didn't match up to that of the breakfasts. The bar area was a bit tatty and tired looking with inadequate seating and unnecessary amusement machines, as a guest review we read had also commented.
