the wood burning fires and entertainment also prices very reasonable
The location was perfect and there is a lift to all floors - ideal after walking for hours! The staff were all very friendly. Excellent breakfast.
Nothing to dislike.
location of hotel.general ambience, reception staff most friendly and helpful.
since our last visit standard of breakfast has deterior.ated significantly condition of car park with snow and ice was hazardous, some form of grit would have been advantageous.
Standard of the rooms and public areas fantastic.
Wifi in the rooms would be a great improvement. To note, It did work well in public areas though
Very good sized single room, very comfortable, clean and good bed. Evening meal was limited, but good value.
Wifi was only available in public areas and television picture was shocking. Breakfast selection lacked imagination, but cooked selection was good. Smell of sick in lift - gross!!!
Decent hotel. Cosy, friendly and festive atmosphere at Christmas. Handy for the local Pitlochry Festival Theatre. Helpful staff. Value for money.
Apart from a slight queue at checkout which is to be expected there were no negatives.
The character of the hotel
Friendly helpful staff, location, good breakfast.
Room a little small and wifi only works in some areas of hotel
Nice welcome, and complimentary drink. Good service, good food in bar both nights, but music was very loud.
Pity room 202 was not checked before our arrival! No heating on and it was a VERY cold room. Thank you for the extra heater, but it took a while to warm up. Ever heard of Mould & Mildew remover? It would be worth using on the tiles in the shower in room 212. Really not nice seeing black mould and dirt in the shower, and it so easily removed with the correct cleaner.
Location was perfect, handy for bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about local are. Fantastic value and tasty breakfast.
not much choice for evening meal
Nice welcome, v comfortable room, great shower, good food (ate in Fishers bar adjoining), welcomed to hotel with a dram! Good Wi-Fi access in lounge, bar etc. Exceptional value for money
Wifi not in room but info provided did state that not all rooms could get access. No problem as happy to use wifi in common areas.
Friendly and efficient staff and a welcoming dram on arrival. Our room was tastefully decorated and was very clean and comfortable compared to other hotel we have stayed in. The bar food was good and reasonably priced. Good choice of buffet breakfast in the morning. Ideal location for visiting tourist spots.
Nothing that we found.
Excellent situation on main street but rooms were quiet and slept soundly in a comfortable room.all staff were brilliant.
On our three night stay in winter I thought the carpet could do with a good vacuum by the end of our stay.
Everything about this hotel. The staff were very friendly, efficient, the breakfast was great and the cleanliness of the room, especially the bathroom was exceptional.
Leaving. Great car park facility but a severe overnight frost made walking to the car especially hazardous.
Wee sherry/whisky on arrival was most welcoming on a dreich day. Roaring open fire in dining area most tempting.
Very sharp closure of breakfast buffet but staff did offer to supply is with more toast if required.
The staff were very friendly. Food nice unfortunately wasn't well when staying here but would come again.
There was nothing not to like.
Hotel was good value for money. Staff were very helpful in hotel.
Went to kingfisher bar for a drink . I asked a member of the bar staff what entertainment was on. He informed me that he didn't know and would ask the manager. The manager said he wasn't sure and would let us know. Needless to say we are still waiting. We stayed and had a few drinks in the bar. There was no entertainment on at all. At the end of the night there was a young female in the bar who subjected my friend and I to a torrent of abuse. She was certainly under age and we pointed this out to a member of the staff. SHe had already been spoken to about her behaviour earlier in the evening. She implied that we were old and said that she was only sixteen.everyone in the bar heard her say this. We brought this to the stewards attention who informed us she was twenty three. Her friend came to us and apologised for her behaviour and told us she was eighteen. Bearing in mind the stewards told us that they had checked her I'd . We le ft the bar and went back to the hotel reception to complain and he already had been informed about what had happened. He told us she was twenty one. It was obvious that the bar staff had made him aware of what had happened. When we left I asked for a complaint form and was told the hotel don't have any just to e mail them. An apology would have been nice but that never happened. It wasted our weekend at the hotel.
The location and we both thought the shower was very good.
The room needed a good clean, there was no attention to detail when it came to cleanliness. Dust and dirt round the edges of the room, this obviously hadn't been hoovered in some time, there was splash marks down the side of the wall of the bath and next to the toilet, the floor behind the bathroom door hadn't been cleaned and the toilet paper and tissues were paper thin and far too rough. I took out a second pillow which was of poor quality and had holes in the cover. Breakfast food was fine but the tea was weak and tasteless.
The location and warm welcome sets the tone for a most enjoyable break from Christmas preparations. A welcoming sherry or whisky on arrival is a lovely touch. The rooms, though fairly basic are spacious and comfortable.
Despite requesting a remote control for the tv, it never arrived.
Very quiet and the shops were deserted. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Everyone was very friendly and happy to chat and make you feel welcome. The staff at the hotel just as friendly and helpful. Lovely room in the older part of the hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Real fires in public areas.
breakfasts were a bit hit and miss. One day no fruit, yoghurt etc and no marmalade. Two days later they appeared! Quality of meat products not great.
Good value meals.
After theatre going in for a drink and being turfed out at 22 30!
bedroom a bit cramped, bathroom likewise
A wonderful introduction to Pitlochry and such a convenient and comfortable place to stay.
