Staff, cleanliness, comfort, location and food
Definitely a great couple of days away.
Location Staff Relaxed atmosphere
Limited menu choices. Some areas looked tired & needing refurbishement.
Entertainment was advertised to be on until 12.30am and finished at 10.45pm with no warning!
Very handy for the train station and shuttle buses to the Enchanted Forest which allowed us to leave the car at home and enjoy the scenery.
Enjoyed the quality of the food at breakfast and at the carvery
No quiet corners to sit and read a book due to the hotel being so busy
The downstairs offered many diverse rooms to take a tea break or wait. The food was good and the restuarent pleasent.
The room was too hot during the night, so had to throw covers off.
Efficient staff, very comfortable accommodation.
Insufficient shelf in bathroom.
Welcoming drink on arrival ( poss due to Enchanted Forest ??) Excellant hotel with homely rooms. Very comfy beds. Room cool initially, but soon heated up when radiator turned up.
Nothing to dislike.
Staff Rooms comfortable
Bit big - prefer smaller hotel but that is a personal thing Bit pricey I thought
cold tap in shower wouldn't turn on.Had to run bath and let it cool before we could use it. Were refused any reduction as we hadn't complained 'at the time'. Were we to go to reception wearing a towel or stand around starkers till maintenance came??
Staff and food were great
Mattress and pillow too soft for my comfort, smell of dampness in room even though room was clean
Friendly staff, good food, cleanliness of all areas. Plenty of hot water and good shower. Hotel on main street in Pitlochery.
Not really enough parking at the hotel.
The staff were friendly and the welcome drink a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was hearty with an adequate choice of food, though the fruit choice was limited.
The car park was full at 4pm when we checked in and is clearly inadequate for a hotel of this size. It is difficult to unload your bags unless you are in the car park as the hotel is on the main road which is congested with traffic.. The public car park involves an extra charge and is 300 yards away. The hotel décor was rather shabby with scuffed chipboard doors in the room, one thin pillow and a very thin duvet -hence a cold night for an autumn stay when the room heating went off. Pitlochry is full of hotels and others may offer better value than this one.
Some traffic noise at night and early morning
The hotel is very good, excellent location, comfy beds, good nights sleep. Would stay again but not use the restaurant
Dinner was disappointing, staff not very attentive. I ordered a three cheese and beetroot tart which came out to the table burnt so had to put it back as inedible. My husband had finished his meal by the time mine came back out.
In the middle of Pitlochry
Parking a problem if hotel full
The position was excellent, staff friendly and helpful & meals were very nice. The hotel ha a lovely old worldy charm.
My mother & I stayed in room 305. The shower head was awkward as it was the big old round one directly above. If you are not wanting to wash your hair every day it is impossible to keep your hair dry - even with a shower cap, which are not supplied, my hair still managed to get damp.
Staff were lovely, room was a food size and location was ideal for all attractions.
The food In the carvery was very poor tasteless over cooked meals. The cold starters were sitting out for a long time and we ate at 5pm so I pity the later diners. There was no and I mean no hot water the next morning, literally no water hot or cold came out of the taps. Staff were lovely and very apologetic and helpful, but they couldn't fix it. I feel this hotel reminds of a B and B from years gone by, shame really, it could be so mch better.
Room comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast choice was standard but tasted great. Great location and excellent value for money.
Couldn't get into hotel parking but there was adequate public parking very near so this was a minor problem.
Location. Especially if you are going to Enchanted Forest, the hotel is departure point. Breakfast was good, dinner :(
No hot water! You can hear people walking, talking and TV. Sound from other room.
The location could not be better. Only had breakfast but quality was of a very good standard.
Feeder pipe to toilet cistern was dripping (wet floor). Reported but not fixed before we left the following morning, but not a real problem. Had difficulty turning taps on and off for the bath extremely stiff.
Friendly staff on reception good location
Rooms small but clean shower facilities not good shower kept cutting off eventually my husband gave up Dodgy hairdryer that went on fire and ended up out the window to cool off poor parking it appeared the car park was used by individuals who were not residents at the hotel breakfast was a disaster coach parties had been catered for and tables hadn't been reset we were seated and then the staff proceeded to set the table around us one diy toaster isnt really enough for the amount of people in for breakfast and jam jars with spoons sticking out of them really didn't like that not an attractive or hygienic way to serve jam although check in staff were pleasant check in was slightly chaotic and two of our party weren't offered a complimentary drink when they arrived
friendly staff. good food.
parking. someone parked over 2 spaces- very annoying. a young man very kindly moved his car to give us his space.
Location excellent. Enjoyed welcome whisky-nice touch. Staff were friendly and efficient. Liked the real fire, made it homely. Quick and easy breakfast as self service.
Room needing refurbished and bathroom smelled damp. Option of fresh fruit salad at breakfast would have been good.
