Everything was great from the friendly greeting the comfy warm room. The menu is small but the food is perfect&plentiful choice between fish dishes, meat, veggie and presented wonderfully. The bar is small&friendly locals make you welcome which was enjoyable. This is a gem of a place.
We had heard many good stories about this Inn and we were not disappointed. Wonderful welcome by this family run hotel and restaurant. Best food and freshly cooked that we have ever eaten in a pub environment and reasonably priced. Rooms were inviting, warm and comfortable, plus super sized comfy bed. This lovely village is so lucky to have a great hub such as this! What a fantastic family who run this, who have not lost the personal touch and customer service!
Staff and locals very friendly, food is excellent and well cooked at reasonable prices. We took the dog with us which is always a bonus. We had a ground floor room stayed over new year and as much as the pub was busy new years eve no noise could be heard from the room. 5 star service. will be booking another stay very soon.
Staff very friendly, the locals are all welcoming and very chatty. The room was superb could not complain what do ever! Would recommend to anyone who just wants to get away and escape the real world
A little isolated and hard to find. Parking can be awkward but was satisfactory
Made to feel at home, lovely family run pub
Great welcome. Friendly, helpful staff. Good choice of wine and beer. Offer of food even though I arrived late. Comfortable room. Great location if you're happy to travel a way from the main road.
I don't have any negative comments!
The owners are dedicated to making your stay really enjoyable. We arrived at 5pm and the bedroom was a bit chilly. As soon as we mentioned this the central heat was switched on full blast so we were soon beautifully warm and remained so. We booked dinner because there was a quiz night and we were served at 7pm as requested with our freshly cooked choices. Excellent meat and delicious vegetables (really hot plates) and a very good french wine for £16. We had the ground floor (disabled) room with large bed, huge TV, walk in shower room (power shower). The decor was a bit dated but the new owners intend to revamp this. We could hear creaking floorboards from guests above but not all night Parking on the street was not a problem at all and the narrow lanes are exactly what we expect in the Quantocks. There is a very good footpath just through the village to walk the dog (and she was allowed in our room free of charge). Breakfast was very good, made to order again, lovely and hot, with lots of tea and toast. This is a very good value, very well run B&B, which the locals appreciate too, as it is their only pub. We were very pleased. Thank you.
The inn had wonderful employees and food, and the bed was big and comfy. A very clean and picturesque place to stay.
Our bed was so ample that it was a little hard to get around it in the room! But we weren't there much, so it hardly mattered. Very comfy.
Pleasant small bar, glad to see local beers and a cider on draught. Particularly good food cooked to order, quite reasonable prices. Ten minutes drive from Bishops Lydeard (West Somerset Railway) station.
It was lovely & remote. The food & friendliness & the quietness at night, A really superb place to stay.
Staff very welcoming, made to feel at home. Setting with the outside space excellent, would definitely use when visiting our friends again. As for the food first class.
Nothing to dislike
The comfortable place to stay, the breakfast , the hospitable staff, the location.
Comfortable and very friendly staff
Big comfortable bed Excellent breakfast Welcoming hosts
Helpful staff excellent breakfast , Lovely clean room,
Helpful Mother and Daughter staff, comfortable bed, flexible breakfast times
Slow serving of breakfast on first day (but not second), noise of open-air diners outside the bedroom.
Lovely comfy bed, courtyard and small bar/restaurant serving good range of food and drinks. Friendly staff and venue popular with locals. We would stay again if in the area.
Towels took ages to dry as no heated rail in bathroom.
Friendliness Quality of food Hospitality
The room was clean and comfortable ,not luxury as stated.Ok for a one night stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We were the only occupants on a Saturday night in July which seemed a shame.
Location!!!! Terrible 2 miles off the beaten track!! We needed our 4x4 not BMW to deal with the overgrown hedges and narrow tracks!! No parking and the narrow road was not a great place to leave a valuable car.
Typical village inn with comfortable accommodation. Very quiet rural location. In the small bar you can enjoy some good food and Somerset cider.
Parking can be a little difficult
Fantastic home cooked quality breakfast. very comfortable mattress welcoming and thoughtful managers nice bar area for a drink seating outside in fairweather fluffy warm large bathtowels!
Very friendly staff that were wonderful with our small dog. Their evening chef made an excellent meal for us (vegetarian). Lovely breakfast also provided in the mornings.
Everything! A great little English pub! Out of the way, but worth the drive. A fantastic couple of days relaxing. We were well looked after and got to meet the locals. room was fantastic, food was fabulous only exceeded by the hospitality 10/10
Hard to get to, very narrow roads (lanes)
