The owners were welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We had an amazing dinner beautifully cooked and despite not making it in time for breakfast we were told it didn't matter and we could have what we wanted. You don't get that type of service in many places!

The fact that we only had a brief stay!

Good location, near enough to town to walk. Good walk along the locks and by the canal, nice cafe at the locks. Great food in the hotel, cracking breakfast, well cooked and Yorkshire portions, even asked if we wanted more. Staff and owners friendly Everything clean and functioning. Watch out for the dogs behind reception...they are just so cute

Bathroom was a tad dated and needed updating

A nice family run hotel, nothing at all to complain about. The standard of the food in the restaurant is excellent as is the breakfast, no hesitation in recommending this hotel or visiting again.

Very good quality of the service - you really receive what was promised in the hotel description. The room was nice, the bathroom clean and comfortable. The area/surrounding is quiet and lovely.

Prices at the restaurant a bit too high for the quality you receive. Still - breakfast (included in the room price) was delicious.

Great little twin bedded room - opened the windows to peace and quiet and lots of countryside! Wonderful freshly cooked breakfast; nothing reheated here. Small bar reasonably priced. Nice grounds. Flat screen TV on wall and tea/coffee. Saw the five rise locks - fantastic. All in all a great short stay.

Nothing to report here. A good family run small hotel.

    1. Decor and furnishings in keeping with the traditonally styled detached building. 2. Great location in an elevated position, plus quieter part of the town. 3. Breakfast - cooked to order, well presented and tasted delicious!

    No concerns

Breakfast cooked to order The building itself and the gardens

Bed a bit soft, and - being a B&B - some noise from other rooms / plumbing etc.

Quite cozy, friendly staff. Very clean.

Well, the hotel being an old house has quite few details like noisy floor and old furtinure.

Travelling with a small baby they were extremely welcoming and thoughtful. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to those with a baby. Great food, lovely bedroom, very peaceful place with lots of nice extras in the bedroom like books, a Basset hound toy.

The bed was SO hard and sloped on the sides so really hard to sleep. I meant to tell the owners in the morning but was busy chasing my little one about. Was a lovely place with great owners. Thanks

We had our dog with us and we were given a ground floor room near the door which was handy. We did not spend much time in the hotel as we had business to attend too and being tea total did not go in the bar area but it looked comfortable.

The glass shelf and mirror in the bathroom were very low which mean we had to almost kneel down in order to shave.
