The garden and break-out spaces, parking and signage was also good. The staff were helpful and not at all intrusive - very good. Access after hours could be better. A bit tired in places otherwise no problems.

Location good - staff very willing - nice to have the pool and spa facilities Poor management - despite plenty of staff the service wasn't joined up - no-one really seemed to be working together - need much stronger leadership - MD in restaurant who co-ordinates the activities of the other staff. Lack of this meant there was a feeling of muddle and long waiting times for service.

We were offered a suite at no extra charge. Unfortunately, the suite required some maintenance work, particularly in the bathroom. I left a list in the bedroom and hoped they would act on it. It included:- 3 cracked and 1 rocking floor tile which could cut someones foot; cobweb in the window; open joints in the floor tiles; opening joints in arris tiles; yellowing bath trim tiles and bath curtain. Outside there was an overflow pipe dripping (do not know cause but needed looking into) and it was causing a green stain on the brickwork as its length was too short. Elementary maintenance would improve the experience.

Staff very pleasant and helpful Dinner very nice Breakfast average only bearing in mind the overall hotel cost though Bedrooms were dated ..carpet stained..bathroom very in need of update mould around the bath curtain a health hazard. In all overpriced compared with many others hotels we have stayed in in the UK Having paid in excess of £500 for two rooms etc would have thought an item of clothing could have been sent, graciously ,free of charge as have had before in another hotel ..lack of good customer service

atmosphere of the hotel, spa was good although somewhat dated. I found the bed to be uncomfortable - mattress probably needed replacing as I could feel the springs. Became very ill after dining in the restaurant and remained unwell for 2 days which ruined our stay.

We thought that the spa and beauty facilities were excellent. Our room was lovely and had lots of character. The restaurant lacked atmosphere although the food was excellent.

friendly obliging service spa comfortable room (a bit chilly at times) and wonderful hot water! was not called back when I tried to book direct - was told no message received by booking clerk - so booked through you. Was not charged for one meal till I pointed this out - although the coffee following it had been charged. Felt admin rather haphazard Coffee both morning and evening thin and weak until I asked for stroneger

Room service breakfast was good. Very small tv, too small for size of room. Bathroom floor tiles were cracked and overall the sense was that the room needed to be freshened up, fixed, redecorated. The radiator in the bedroom did not work, so room heated just from the one in the en-suite. Bright lighting in bar area did not create a realxing atmosphere.

Facilities good - lovely pool, whirlpool, steam room and sauna. Great location, just a quick ride to Rye, set in pretty countryside, Bus Stop outside. Breakfast A-w-e-s-o-m-e (maybe the best I've had anywhere) Staff were quite friendly and helpful in both the restaurant and booking taxis and getting local directions. Service a bit complacent/casual in terms of reception (there was guy from the gym just stretched out arms behind head when we turned up). It is a £100 a night, so that was a bit of a surprise... I asked for an iron and it didn't turn up, so I went to fetch it from reception. The cleaners were quite rude and didn't knock before entering the room and slammed the door when we said don't worry about cleaning, we're having a lie-in.

This eas a warm friendly hotel. We felt welcome . The position on the tra making facilities did not make sense. It was at the end of the bed and i needed to search for a place to plug in the kettle in the morning. The available plug was obscured from view by the table lamp.

lovely restaurant and breakfast, pretty setting, friendly helpful staff Coffee could be stronger although when we asked for it to be stronger and not already plunged this was done! There is never enough space to hang wet towels in hotel bathrooms no serious problems really

The staff were very helpful. It was well situated to get to various places of interest. The breakfast was good. The evening meal was fine, but just a little over priced. The upgraded room was a good size. Pity it did not have a mini fridge. That it was impossible to get spa treatments even though I phoned a week prior to arrival. Had I known that in advance I would not have booked a weekend stay for me and my partner. When we did get a cancelation for spa treatment, the man on the phone arranged for 2.pm Saturday, but the lady expected us at 2 pm on Friday! This we never knew until it was too late! So poor communication. Just too expensive when considering condition of hotel which looked a little shabby and run down to say the least. Driveway was full of puddles!

Efficient and pleasant service at reception. Rural surroundings and gardens. Easy parking. Comfortable room with all amenities. Breakfast, limited selection of food, lack of quality of cooked food, some staff somewhat surly. Bathroom, not totally up to standard with respect to cleanliness, stained porcelain and some moulding around bath and sinks.

Comfortable room, friendly staff, pleasant public rooms. Good evening meal. Disappointing breakfast; poached egg was'nt runny, black pudding was cold, bacon was'nt nice. I left most of it on the plate. They should provide a good cooked breakfast; it's an important part of an overnight stay.

Location was good for our one night stay on route to the channel tunnel. The room was 'frayed at the edges' and overall as a consequence not good value for money. Resturant was average.
