My family was touring the Cotswolds and decided to spend the night in Cirencester. When looking for an accomodation, I wanted a place that was within walking distance to city centre... Especially the cathedral. I also hoped for a historic building. The Fleece fit all of those requirements. We had a lovely dinner in the bar that evening and a delicious breakfast the next morning. We appreciated having the breakfast included in the price. The hotel car park was full, so we had to park a couple blocks away in a public lot. That was very inconvenient with all of our luggage. Plus, we had to get up early and pay for a display ticket. It was also difficult finding our way back to the hotel the next morning from the car park due to all the one way streets.

We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay here. Staff were delightful and helpful, particularly the manager. Our room was comfortable and looked like it had been recently decorated. Bed was very comfortable. Menu was limited but I personally see this as a plus and our evening meal was good. Parking was very limited, which we hadn't appreciated before arrival and there was no space for us to park. Public car park nearby but very confusing charging and meant we had to top up payment first thing in the morning.

Comfortable & cosy with friendly staff (especially housekeeping). Good food, great northern beer - while it lasted! Even the dog was welcome. A very pleasant stay. Having to pay for the hotel's own car park - are hotels now going the way of bucket airlines and hitting customers with multiple 'hidden' charges? Do the owners wish to have a reputation for service and quality - or a cheap and nasty 'ryan-easy-stay'? PS - Residents ought to have 'priority' for dining places - anytime. We are, after all, living there . . . . .

The location and room availability. The premium draught lager was off, why do licenced premices think that providing decent hand pulled beer is enough and only providing bottled premium lager is good enough, 1664 is popular as is the german lagers, try it you may find it helps trade. Thanks

What a little gem ! Lovely room ! Excellent staff ! Perhaps a bit more choice with the continental breakfast would be good, but for the price it was fine.

Fantastic stay - the staff couldn't be more helpful and the room was recently refurbed and absolutely lovely. Cosy, comfortable, a great breakfast too and brilliantly central. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants a weekend in the Cotswolds.

Good location right in the middle of town Anonymous decor. In middle of renovation. Too expensive for what was offered. Lack of attention to basics for example reception cluttered with same furniture and carpet deliveries for check in and check out

Staff remembered us from our last stay and were very friendly and welcoming. We were at the front of hotel and unfortunately it was a bit noisey early in the morning as they sweep road on saturdays.

Newly refurbished - the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was well served and cooked. Central location. The car park is small and not easy to access and although I had reserved a space we had to wait for a space. Unfortunately as builders were still refurbishing some of the rooms the smell of paint was quite bad - which affected my husband as he has pleural fibrosis - the hotel should have contacted to us to inform us that they were still in the middle of a refurbishment.

Very good staff, attentive but not intrusive, very comfortable room newly refurbished, excellent food freshly cooked and very well served, and a very relaxing way to spend a short break in the Cotswolds. We have been before and will return! Car parking a little restricted on this visit due wholly to ongoing refurbishment of the hotel, anticipated to be completed by the end of the year - then a return to normality

Comfortable eating options. You could be as casual as you wished, yet still be in comfortable and attractive surroundings. Parking awkward and subsequent access. Had to negotiate people seated and spread out on outdoor decking area.

It was near Down Ampney, which I was visiting to gather lecture material. Although the room was directly on the street, the double glazing worked to keep sound out. Old (1651) hotel full of character. Over-zealous portion-control at breakfast. However, we did get enough to eat.
