well actually, few of the above really fit. it was a really friendly place to stay in a gently villagey atmosphere, Nice music in the evening. It was great food and well presented, chef knew what he was doing, even the eggs were perfect, which puts them in the **** bracket. nice welcoming fire on a blustery day. A Gem.

It was easy perfect for staying outside of Oxford. Quiet and quaint with lovely walks and a couple of places to eat in. I liked the bedroom which have been modernised but still keep a senser of the history of the Inn

The owners/staff were all extremely courteous, friendly and informative. Breakfast was simple but nicely cooked and although we did not take an evening meal, the board menu looked good with a varied selection of dishes at a reasonable price . Would use this establishment again. It being a very old building with quite a number of stairs and passage ways to the rooms make it quite difficult if anyone has mobility problems.

Very comfortable and characterful room, in a pretty village. Excellent value, as a single person in a double room. Very comfortable bed. My room had a bath and hand-held shower attachment, rather than a shower as I expected, but it didn't really matter!

I stayed here for three nights. It is an Inn, not an hotel and that suited me better. It is lovely when the owners can call you by name, and will chat with you when you are a solo traveller. The weather was snowy, but I was warm in my room all the time. I was able to visit a hair salon nearby, and avail of the beautician's services. The abbey is worth visiting, too. A picturesque little village. I had no complaints, everything worked as it should. The owners DO close between 3 and 6, but you have a key, so can come and go as you wish.

An Inn with character and warmth, from the 2 open fires, staff to the impressive service. Great value for money, the food was exceptional, I even thanked the chef for my meal, something I very rarely feel the need to do. We were impressed with the friendliness of staff and locals, didn't feel like 'outsiders' visiting. We accessed the car park through the archway, ample room and safe parking area. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean, our privacy was maintained and respected. You can smoke outside in the back garden which is easily accessed using the side door so you don't have to go through the restaurant or bar. We will certainly be returning to this pleasant and professionally run Inn again and would highly recommend it to others.

Excellent food and service. The staff were very good. and the room was superb. It said on my confirmation that check in was available from 2pm, however the hotel did not open until 6. I arrived earlier than expected, and had to wait outside for half an hour.

Perfect for over the festive season - lovely roaring fires and Christmas decorations. Lovely service. Would recommend. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs for the church clock across the road which chimes every 15 minutes, but the Fleur De Lys Inn couldn't be faulted.

It was a little disappointing as publicity created greater expectations. You have to be prepared to go with what is on offer and enjoy the best you can as the village facilities are limited. The church is outstanding. You get used to the limited space. Essentially it is a small room over a pub and thinks happen rather ad hoc. Still this can be quaint. Accept the context and it is not that bad.

Nothing. Disgusted by the fact that as being my locale for work purposes was unable to get a breakfast before setting off to work at 6;30 even though I was on a b&b basis. Found the owners very offish. Definately not worth the rate they charge.

Grubby place with staff who don't seem to understand the customer/service relationship. Public area's are dirty. Braeakfast before 7.30 is problematic for staff. I booked the Chantry room as it was advertised with a walk in shower but got the Abbey room with a deep bath and poor shower. Also church bells every 15 mins throughout the night. I have to be honest as a regular user of booking.com I felt let down by your representation of this 'hotel'!!

I stayed at the Fleur De Leys on business and will definetely be going back. The room was very clean and bright and the staff where excellent. I had a problem tuning my tele and it was sorted immediately. Lovely location and I would even consider for a break. It was certainly value for money, I have stayed in 4/5 star hotels that didn't come close to this little gem!!!

The room in this quaint pub was great, comfortable and clean and overlooked the abbey across the road. We were walking the Thames Path and it was really close by. The staff were really friendly and the food fine. We loved playing dominoes after dinner and wandering around the old village.

Saff very friendly and helpful, full english breakfast first rate.Dorchester nice quiet village since main Oxford road was diverted some years ago.but good access to main roads to oxford reading, henley, and the surrounding countryside. Not really a complaint more an observation, this is a very old building with uneven floors in rooms and corridoors, definately not for the disabled.
