The place has a good location - 5 minutes from the train station (with frequent trains to Victoria and London Bridge), also plenty of supermarkets and fast food restaurants nearby. Our room had a TV, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer and an iron. So basically everything you could need. We liked that we could cook our own breakfast whenever we wanted using all the stuff that was provided by the hotel. The staff was also supernice.
The walls are rather thin, so you can hear people walking in the hallways.
We were staying three nights here. Our plane was supposed to come late, and was even delayed, we were welcomed and accomodated immidiately when we arrived. We enjoyed the all-you-can-eat breakfast, which is not limited by time. The connection to London is quite good: 20-25 mins to Victoria or London Bridge.
The stains on the covers.
You can cook your own breakfast 24h a day. But it is nothing special.
The shower in the room did not work. The trains driving by made a big noise.
A great concept, making your own breakfast In the shared kitchen which was always well stocked and could be used 24hrs a day. Very easy to find from Norbury train station, the 3 min walk advertised is over estimated (took us about 1 min). Nice room although basic had a fan, hair drier and iron.
If you want luxury this isn't for you but we loved the bed sit type accommodation. There was a good shower but the rooms are basic in decor, but if you only intend to sleep here it is outstanding for the price paid. A bit of an elongated train journey to Central London but this is all reflected in the great price.
Free parking, convenient, able to eat breakfast When ever. Breakfast options lovely outdoor space.
Adequate kitchen, friendly staff
Room was near to train station, so didn't sleep too well
We were an unusual party - mum, grandmother and 4 year old - but this wasn'the a problem. Good location, clean throughout, plenty of choice for breakfast (available all day). Worked well as a base for exploring London.
Mattresses could be thicker.
Breakfast whenever you wanted, prepare yourself and clean up yourself - suited us. Plenty of hot water. Extra close to train station for London Laid back Friendly person in charge Clean Bins & Towels changed (no maid)
We were perfectly happy but other travellers were complaining that it was in need of TLC. For the money, it didn't matter to us. If we wanted lovely decor and all the home comforts, we would have booked an expensive hotel, not a budget one - you get what you pay for.
Close to station where regular trains take you to victoria station in about 15 minutes. As we were there over the week end we could park on the street. Parking on site is very limited. The room was large and fairly clean and the beds were clean and comfortable. Wifi was good and the tv worked. The fridge was well stocked up for cook your own breakfast.
The hotel was run down in a run down area. The en suite bathroom was dirty with hair from previous users in the plug hole. There was a water leak behind the toilet. There was a shelf hanging off in bedroom. The breakfast area was far too small for all the guest and we had to queue to use the small kitchen to make breakfast for quite a while.1 of the 2 tables was under a water leak from the ceiling.
The property is in good condition with a bright and welcoming reception. There were no dirty carpets as I feared, nor any excessive noise or heat as some other reviewers have suggested. The number 50 bus stops very close by, minimising walking for those using public transport. The breakfast area & fridge was well stocked with items for the 'self-help' breakfast.
The small ensuite bathroom was a little bit shabby and a more hygienic alternative to the two fabric bathroom mats would be welcome.
The room was small but comfortable, we had everything we needed and the keeper was very kind. Not really far from the city centre, you can get to London Victoria in barely 20 minutes via train!
Location close to transport. Great DIY breakfast available all day. Use of kitchen day and night. Fridge in room. Kettle in room. Sink in room. All round good do for the money.
Very spacious room, nice location, about 20 minutes to Victoria station by train. Good breakfast, access to kitchen facilities to cook whenever you want. Parking possible on site. Good price, excellent staff!
Convenient for rail station. Excellent communal facilities i.e. lounge with large TV and well stocked kitchen with 24hour access. Breakfast was self service i.e. you prepare your own breakfast - which suited us well.
Mohammad was pleasant and gave us a tour of the facilities when we arrived and we saw him again on the morning we left. Location was good as it was close to where we needed to be.
Room was hostel like and not up to the standard of what I expected as an apart hotel. It is more 2* than 3*. It was not good value for money because it was costing us what we paid in London in February and that was a 4* hotel in Kensington! We booked it as we needed to be close to Streatham. Our room was reasonably clean and had tea, coffee and biscuits as a welcome pack. It concerned me to see that the pillow cases were not ironed and very wrinkled. We are a mature couple and we given one small hand towel and one 'bath' towel between us to last a full weekend. The television had such a poor reception than we could not watch any programme for more than a few minutes before the signal went down and it was down most of the time. This property needs redecorating. The hall carpet did not look clean or may have been worn and the paintwork is showing a lot of wear. The garden to the rear is big and completely overgrown which adds to concern about the upkeep of the property. Trains start early morning until late evening. The tracks run along the back of the garden and it is a busy line so if you are a light sleeper this is not for you. Breakfast was ok and you could have as much as you want to cook. The kitchen is a commonal area and it was clean but it is the visitors who clean it & wash up the dishes. It's a pity as we need to travel to London to see family and this would have been an ideal location but it's back to Central London for us next time.
Very well located. 3 min walk from Norbury train station and its a 20min ride to central London. Its truly flexistay as the name says. You have a good kitchen and you are free to get things from many convenience store in the vicinity to make the food of your choice. Parking is possible on site. Mohammed, the caretaker is surely a great guy to be there at the hotel. Very helpful, soft spoken and able. To me, it is an extension of staying away from home. You have a common dining area and you get to meet people from around the world as its quite likely that you will strike a conversation inside the dining area. Overall, quite good.
The rooms furnitures could have been better and we also saw some parts in the bathroom dated.
Close to the train station with excellent links to the Victoria. 24 hours fully loaded Pantry / Kitchen area for use.
Very courteous staff. Access to kitchen facilities and stocked fridge for making own breakfast. Comfortable lounge seating with TV and channel choice. Plenty of hot water
Very tired in places. In need of some refurbishment, especially the stairs and bathroom in my room. Thin mattress.
Reasonable price for the room.
Big spider in the shower.
Nice location, about 25 minutes to Victoria station by train. Cool breakfast, you have a choice what you can eat.Fast free Wi-Fi.Good stuff.Super for this price!
Location was excellent. 20 minutes to London Victoria with train every 7-10 min. Very good eateries around. The hotel has a kitchen that gives you full flexibility to cook should you want to. Overall very good stay.
The heater wasn't working the first day but was rectified the next day.
It's very strange that Booking gives three stars for this apart hotel. Really it hasn't any stars. Booking, please, don't misinform and show real situation.
