i liked so much, especially the nice comfortable room.
could do with larger toiletries and more tea bags if possible. Some maintenance needed - loose shower handle, and big chip in the shower tray, but minor so no show stopper.
wi fi very nice
location & building
Our room was excellent and of a good size. It was light clean and airy. We would stay there again if we were in the area. The staff were lovely.
Parking could be difficult. The heated towel rail didn't work.
I had booked at the Florence House but was put into a sister property - Somerset House. No restaurant or bar at this nearby house. the room was nice, large, clean, comfortable and quiet. a very good, rich continental breakfast was brought to our room each morning.
Staff were very friendly and went out of there way to make you feel welcome nothing was to much trouble
The personal service received on arrival was great. We were so lucky too to get a parking space offroad in a busy area. Our evening meal in the Kitchen restaurant was very pleasant and staff were very attentive.
A few things : - the waste bin in our bedroom had not been emptied before our arrival, only a small thing but nevertheless attentioan to detail is important. - our breakfast was tasty but in our opinion overcooked. - we found the chairs in the breakfast room and in the restaurant rather hard and uncomfortable to sit on.
The location was excellent with the added bonus of parking with a permit from the hotel. The breakfast and service was excellent too.
We were in a house opposite to the restaurant which in bad weather is not acceptable for the money paid for the hotel. Also the noise from other guests coming in and out of the house plus noise from room upstairs gave a poor nights sleep. Other Boutique Hotels we have stayed in for a similar price have given more personal touches to the rooms.
Rooms Food Welcome Staff Nothing too fault
Brilliant staff and location, they could not do enough to help.
Room 3 had a squeaky bed so every time you move at night it wakes you up
The hotel was very good, staff lovely, helpful, & food delicious.
Somewhere close to us a couple were talking loudly until after 3.00am. I did not know what to do about this, and unlike that couple, did not want to disturb others through the night. For me, it obviously reduced the quality of sleep - but we would go to this hotel again, if in Portsmouth.
The staff were all very polite and friendly. The accommodation was beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean , and the breakfast was amazing. Will definitely be recommending to others and hope to be back ourselves.
Absolutely nothing to be negative about.
Good food and the service was better on the second day than the first. Room was very nicely decorated. Good location near to the sea.
The bed was very squeaky and made a lot of noise. The bathtub was a spa bath but so noisy when switched on and then water went all over the bathroom. The wifi didn't work the first day we were there. We arrived early and wanted to leave our bags before we could check in (which was ok) but the service was not welcoming and we were informed we hadn't told them we were arriving early. Made to feel like an inconvenience. I didn't expect that for the price and the advertised style of the hotel.
Lovely room, great breakfast and helpful staff.
The toilet was so small it was impossible to close the door as our knees hit the door!
Excellent location Spa bath Relaxing Clean Friendly staff Spacious room
Location in a side road in Southsea is easy for accessing the local area and free parking was available.
Promoted as a luxury boutique hotel and charging top end prices, this hotel did not live up to its hype. Although we knew we had booked a small double room at a charge of £295 for the night, the room was tiny. Although clean the bathroom had no heating, an electric shower where I had to hand hold the shower head to get any water flow. The bedding was worn and both the pillows and mattress were lumpy and uncomfortable. The experience was topped off by being told that Sunday breakfast times had been shortened to accommodate guests attending Goodwood (we were not) and no breakfasts would be served after 9:30 am and I was unpleasantly surprised to find wire from a metal scouring pad in my breakfast. I did not accept another breakfast after this and was told that there was nothing that could be done, no refund or discount on the stay, when we checked out. We also overheard another set of guests with similar complaints as they checked. At the prices charged this establishment and the sister hotels in this local group either drop the price to give a true reflection of what they offer or actually make the whole experience a luxury one. First tip being put bottled water in the rooms!

Very helpful staff - THANK YOU!! Good stylish decor Comfortable bed and pillows the location was good as we were travelling to France on the ferry
The location and the environment was amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was very polite and helpful. Will definetly stay again and recommend it to friends.
Only some noisy guests upstairs
The restaurant The Kitchen had fantastic fine dining experience. The staff throughout the hotel were very welcoming and helpful. I have already made another booking to stay with my family. Loved everything about this boutique hotel. Location was nice and secluded but a only a short walk to Southsea sh
The room was very elegantly furnished. The bed was very comfortable The WiFi connection was good Breakfast room was lovely, and food was good Services as friendly
Without a car, no suggestions re local restaurants, I don't recall Lots of steps to my room. I am fit for my age, but might be good to take that into account when allocating rooms when booking is taken online.
Lovely big comfortable bed and attentive staff.
Very helpful staff. Comfortable clean room. Went out of their way to serve breakfast for an early morning start Food when we got it was delicious and beautifully presented
Having to wait three quarters of an hour for the main course in the restaurant ,was the only downside. Thought about eating the napkin we were so hungry.
Rooms are lovely and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Parking is a bit weird, but worth the effort.
A pleasant, spacious bedroom. Very attentive staff. Good choice of breakfast.
