all staff very friendly and the restaurant meals were excellent. Good cooking and choice of menu. parking was well organised with parking permits.
The bed was very comfortable. The room was airy and bright with a modern bathroom. Breakfast was hot and tasty. The staff team were friendly and helpful.
Our room was at top of building and stairs are difficult for me. It would be nice to be able to select a room in the hotel prior to arriving. This would include what floor the room was on.
I stay here frequently for work and I love it. The rooms are very clean, very comfortable and interesting. The location suits me perfectly, not right in the city centre but easily walkable. The best thing about it though.... the staff. Always very helpful, polite and happy. I get upset when my office staff book me into somewhere else (usually because the Florence is fully booked, it's that good)
Portsmouth is known fir the historical naval yard but had so much more to offer. The hotel was situated close to the waterfront. The Florence pub just around the corner is also worth a visit. There are a number of restaurants and pubs less than a 10 min walk from the hotel The room was delightfully furnished in a French theme and was very comfortable. The full English breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely choose to stay at the Florence again.
There was nothing to dislike.
Loved it will be back
The hotel is a converted house in a quiet residential road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was sumptuous as well and the breakfast was great too.
Parking is on the street outside in a controlled zone. You get three free parking, but you can get a permit from the hotel to place on your dashboard which allows you to park for free. This is a little inconvenient. The owners own three houses next door to each other, with breakfast served in one of them. This means you have to go outside as there is no means of getting from one property to another. Also there is no lift. No a problem for us, but could be an issue for some. These are very minor issues though as it is a great hotel.
Everything, could not have wished for more from a hotel! Staff were lovely, room was spectacular, so homely and comfortable! Breakfast was better than any I've had in a long time! Perfect place to take the girlfriend for her 21st!
Decor was fresh and attractive. We occupied the two rooms at the top of a house. It felt very private.
My room was rather chilly. I could have had an extra heater but did not ask for it as we were visiting friends during the day. It was perfectly adequate for sleeping.
Quality and style of bedroom and all public rooms though ensuite bathroom in need of attention as below standard of bedroom. Staff very friendly.
Beautiful rooms, friendly staff. Were happy to help in any situation. Felt very welcoming.
Lovely staff, beautiful rooms and perfect buffet breakfast
What's not to like great price for 5 star service and accomodation will recommend to all my friends and colleagues
Loved the decor throughout, staff very helpful and great breakfast and location
We were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who were so completely happy to do their very best to accommodate our needs...They searched online to find recipes for cocktails and suggested many great restaurants. We had a very lazy day in our room, relaxing with room service. Everything was perfect.
excellent staff,lovely bedroom,good breakfast.
Parking a bit hit or miss,we found a space quite close. Could be a problem in the summer.
Lovely hotel, with helpful friendly staff, excellent food in hotel restaurant, would certainly stay again.
Hot water for shower ran out
I noted the sink was blocked, which I find happens regularly, and whilst having no time to report this it was cleared when I returned without me having to ask. You seldom get that great service anywhere! Thanks.
Quiet, clean and comfortable rooms. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was beautiful.
I cant think of anything I didn't like. I know waitresses was run off their feet and occasionally got orders wrong with regard to ordering certain types of cooked eggs but was easily rectified. I think they need to number tables to help them allocate certain orders to the correct customers.
Great breakfast, nice big room, very clean and tidy. Staff very polite and helpful.
Parking - onstreet, but had to park in adjoining street due to lack of spaces.
Shabby chic furniture
Staff very helpful, food was great, room very clean and bed comfy, we also got an unexpected upgrade, would definitely stay again.
Parking could be a bit of a problem as its mainly on street, but we were given a private parking space, so all good really.
Superb furniture and decor.Light and airy.Brilliant shower and bathroom facilities. Overall a fantastic room. Will definitely use again.
Can't think of anything to complain.Staff were very friendly and helpful. As good as we have encountered in several stays around the country.
We didn't like having to go to another building for breakfast.
The hotel and rooms are decorated in a sleek contemporary style. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. We stayed at the Statton nearby also (same hotel group) , but the Florence Suite was much better value for money. Helpful staff couldn't do enough for us and breakfast was gorgeous. Lovely bar. Didn't eat at he restaurant, but the good we saw come out to others looked lovely.
Bar was great, but closed quite early to avoid disturbing rooms above and drinks overpriced really for a hotel of this type. £5.25 for 1 pint of Peroni!
