The lady that showed us around was lovely, helpful, happy and very passionate about her job. The building is lovely and has a luxurious feel to it. The room was fab with a really comfortable bed.
Small coffee cups!
We needed to be close to the Pyramid centre for an event and this hotel was perfectly placed. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly.
We booked a room with a King size bed, which we got, but there wasn't much space around it. The furniture was a bit of a mish-mash, a lamp wasn't working and the radiator never got hot, so the room tended to be on the cool side. Also didn't like the hotel being spread across three buildings - reception was in one house, breakfast in another and our room in the third house. There was no internal conection.
Staff were delightful.
Room 7! Parking in this area is a major dilemma. We drove around for over 30 min looking for a space. Tiny room, tiny sink. Toilet squashed in corner and noisy extractor fan. Room is next to front door and it banged from 7.30am onwards on Sunday morning.
Attention to detail, helpful staff.
Slight downside room was on the third floor and would be tricky if mature or disabled.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was lovely and spotless. It was a shame it was raining and we could not have had use of the garden.
The experience of having to go outside to the neighbouring hotel for breakfast. I disliked it even more as it was pouring with rain and we did not like the idea of having to put our coats on for breakfast.
Great room and location. Staff were great also. Excellent breakfast.
Parking on the street with permit. Not bad at all. At least its free with their permit!
The entire hotel was excellent. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food was wonderful. Our hotel suite was superb and beautiful my partner was extremely happy.
loved it all
Great Shower and comfy bed will come again
Loud front door when shutting if your in the room next to it
Lovely decor and fantastic breakfast
Dominic went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed.
all staff very friendly and the restaurant meals were excellent. Good cooking and choice of menu. parking was well organised with parking permits.
The bed was very comfortable. The room was airy and bright with a modern bathroom. Breakfast was hot and tasty. The staff team were friendly and helpful.
Our room was at top of building and stairs are difficult for me. It would be nice to be able to select a room in the hotel prior to arriving. This would include what floor the room was on.
I stay here frequently for work and I love it. The rooms are very clean, very comfortable and interesting. The location suits me perfectly, not right in the city centre but easily walkable. The best thing about it though.... the staff. Always very helpful, polite and happy. I get upset when my office staff book me into somewhere else (usually because the Florence is fully booked, it's that good)
Portsmouth is known fir the historical naval yard but had so much more to offer. The hotel was situated close to the waterfront. The Florence pub just around the corner is also worth a visit. There are a number of restaurants and pubs less than a 10 min walk from the hotel The room was delightfully furnished in a French theme and was very comfortable. The full English breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely choose to stay at the Florence again.
There was nothing to dislike.
Loved it will be back
The hotel is a converted house in a quiet residential road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was sumptuous as well and the breakfast was great too.
Parking is on the street outside in a controlled zone. You get three free parking, but you can get a permit from the hotel to place on your dashboard which allows you to park for free. This is a little inconvenient. The owners own three houses next door to each other, with breakfast served in one of them. This means you have to go outside as there is no means of getting from one property to another. Also there is no lift. No a problem for us, but could be an issue for some. These are very minor issues though as it is a great hotel.
Everything, could not have wished for more from a hotel! Staff were lovely, room was spectacular, so homely and comfortable! Breakfast was better than any I've had in a long time! Perfect place to take the girlfriend for her 21st!
Decor was fresh and attractive. We occupied the two rooms at the top of a house. It felt very private.
My room was rather chilly. I could have had an extra heater but did not ask for it as we were visiting friends during the day. It was perfectly adequate for sleeping.
Quality and style of bedroom and all public rooms though ensuite bathroom in need of attention as below standard of bedroom. Staff very friendly.
Beautiful rooms, friendly staff. Were happy to help in any situation. Felt very welcoming.
Lovely staff, beautiful rooms and perfect buffet breakfast
What's not to like great price for 5 star service and accomodation will recommend to all my friends and colleagues
Loved the decor throughout, staff very helpful and great breakfast and location
We were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who were so completely happy to do their very best to accommodate our needs...They searched online to find recipes for cocktails and suggested many great restaurants. We had a very lazy day in our room, relaxing with room service. Everything was perfect.
