Unless you had had a room in the castle, you might feel that you weren't partaking in the historic nature of the hotel (the fine dining restaurant within the historic castle is closed on Mondays) . That said, the new wing containing the brasserie and bistro served delicious food; the floor to ceiling glass walls in this wing were a brilliant architectural decision, allowing for unobstructed views. This is a unique, wonderful property.
The location was stunning, a private view of the lake in an idyllic setting. The view from our room's balcony was exceptional. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very spacious. The staff at this hotel went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. The grounds were green, well maintained, full of trees, and the hotel in general provided a luxurious escape from urban stress.
