everything was perfect from the minute we got there! we would highly recommend staying and we will definitely be returning!
My daughter was married in the fine dining room which was made to look beautiful for the intimate service. Afterwards all the guests were In the upstairs lounge with it's stunning views, enjoying canapés with drinks whilst the staff transformed the dining room for the meal. The tables were stunning. The staff ensured everything went like clockwork. We stayed there for two nights during which we wanted for nothing.
There was absolutely nothing to not like.
Tremendous hotel, with tastefully understated design, smiling, helpful staff, superb food and incredibly comfortable beds. It's location is excellent overlooking Loch Faskally. First rate.
Friendly staff Excellent Food-sensational breakfast Prime location
Soft mattress Soft pillow
Wonderful views, great welcome, fine dining experienc very special
lack of bar staff on arrival, no nibbles with drinks in bar
Loved my stay at Fonab castle. Breathtaking scenery, lovely rooms in the castle, and the staff couldn't do enough to assist us. Will definitely be back.
Good service, great views & location. Nice room.
food was nice but wouldn't say it was excellent.
The staff were first class, very friendly and most helpful.
We went for an afternoon drink in the lounge - but no-one there. Waited 15/20 mins still no staff. No bell to ring etc. Gave up and went for a walk instead !!
The attitude of the staff from the second we arrived was top drawer. The food was incredible. The accommodation itself was fantastic. This anniversary Treat could only have been improved by the comment in the opposite box,
We had hoped that the Spa facilities would be open.
Very quiet peaceful location we wanted a couple of night of relaxation after the stress of the wedding and it was perfect, James in the bar will make you a amazing cocktail to suit your mood which you can enjoy with a view over the loch
Would have been nice to have the spa open but we will go back once it is open
The place was beautiful. The grounds and scenery amazing, and staff extremely pleasant. Our bedroom was very comfortable and linen and towels were spot on .
The music in bars and restaurant could have been more easy listening and somewhat quieter and none whatsoever at breakfast. Disappointed that the spa facilities were not ready.I personally would have preferred a buffet style breakfast but the breakfast was excellent.
The views and staff were fabulous
Loved the ambience of fonab, the staff were so polite and welcoming. We decided on the fine dinning for a treat and was not disappointed,James was amazing in his knowledge of all we were eating and drinking.Though iniatially thought it was pricey we were totally blown away with the experience and would recommend all to go for it, defo do it again and can't wait for my next visit.
the beds were like big fluffy marshmallows which are not a complaint but just a wee bit too soft for me
Bed not as comfortable(mattress-wise) as I expected
Can't think of anything to dislike about this awesome property. From the moment we arrived, staff provided exceptional attention to make our stay very enjoyable! Our room in the castle was wonderful and comfortable. Breakfast menu options, food and service were outstanding. Had dinner in the brassiere. Food, service and view was top notch. Great walking trails nearby.
Fonab Castle is a beautiful place to go, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, nice and quiet area, spotlessly clean, nice location, Very good food, and staff most helpful. Highly recommended.
My only complaint about Fonab Castle would be, and it is only minor. In the Dining Room the tables for 2 are far too close, less than 18 inches apart, which doesn't give you much privacy, but that certainly wouldn't put me off from going back.
Although we received this one night D/B/B. As a gift the impression has left a strong feeling that one must return the whole experience of this short visit has been second to none
Stay to short
Had been to Fonab for lunch & really loved the setting. We were shown 2 bedrooms / one modern & one more traditional. I later booked for my husband's Bithday in June. I had chosen the modern room with balcony overlooking Loch Faskelly . Gorgeous. !! Our evening meal was very good , followed by a drink upstairs in the lounge. Stunning !! The staff were very friendly & professional. A wonderful experience. We returned for lunch after a wonder round Perth. Have recommended Fonab to many people & it certainly deserves continued success. Best Wishes Susan
There was nothing that was offensive or was to be improved. !! Really love Fonab.
Stunning location. Glamourous decor. Fabulous food. Excellent staff. The perfect place to celebrate the big 60!
loved the location, the ambience, the decor, the staff and the food. Exceeded expectations of very seasoned travellers
The staff demonstrated excellent customer service skills: Mike ensured our car was parked, our bags taken to the room and all rooms gadgets including the espresso machine were explained. Matt made a special "hot toddy" for my cold. Dining in the lounge provided good options at reasonable prices. The rooms lovely and the choice of rider or goose down pillows made it even more restful. The location beautiful and peaceful. Johanna, general manager was delightful to work with prior to arrival. The little touches just made the experience even better.
No bath tub in our room didn't change the incredible stay.
Great breakfasts freshly prepared (no buffet). Large, modern bedrooms within the castle. Most of the staff friendly and helpful.
Our room was facing the car park and the new spa under construction. There was noise from the building site. No other rooms available for first 2 nights (we did not accept an alternative room which was not in the castle itself), however were able to move to a room in the casle with loch view for the remaining 2 nights. On checking out, 2 items on the bill were for drinks we had not had - these were deducted.
We were there for our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time! From arrival to leaving it was lovely and a treat. Looking forward to another visit! :)
Views were amazing. Staff were very friendly. Bedrooms were gorgeous. Outside seating area was lovely.
Being in a suite I would have thought we'd have had a view of the Loch instead of the car park. Felt menu was little limited although food was good. Spa opening has been delayed til Jan.
Everything about this hotel is excellent, could not fault it
