Score from 108 reviews Very good
The room was large and airy. The bed was very comfortable.
The walls were unbelievably thin as I could hear someone snoring very loudly and the occupant of the room next having a bath. The hot water tank must have been in the room with me as I could hear it filling up which seemed to take forever. The TV had been fitted with a timing capability and decided to turn itself on at 6.30am! The only way to stop it was to unplug it. The WiFi that was available in every room for free didn't work properly. The milk supplied with the tea and coffee facilities was off.
Design and Layout of the hotel
Mattress was uncomfortable and didn't have a good night sleep for that reason.
The staff, restaurant/bar were excellent with amazing food.
Very comfortable room, spacious. Helpful staff, definitely worth a visit.
People drinking outside below the bedroom window until nearly 1am, very noisy.
Good sized room, friendly staff, clean hotel with good continental breakfast.
Reception often unmanned and room was quite warm
Excellent hotel nice clean room very comfortable.Good evening food.Would thoroughly recommend
Breakfast a bit basic for the price
Every thing but the breakfast. Oh! and another thing, It was disappointing not to able to get a sandwich at 5.0pm when I arrived.
The breakfast was poor to say the least, the bacon was overcooked and despite requesting my egg to be sunny side up I got something that was of the consistency of rubber throughout.
The hotel had a good 'feel' about it, friendly staff, great food
I thought the standard of room and bed didn't reflect the same standard as the rest of the hotel
Food great, staff very friendly, couldn't do enough for you. Rooms very clean, comfortable and slept very well.
The only little negative was that I had booked two nights for one person but upon arrival the booking was for 2 people for one night. Soon remedied... Upon paying the bill the room was chargeable at two different rates but once I pointed this out the lady changed it back to what I had expected to pay.
Rooms, staff and Menu. For bar meals the standard was superb and good value for money.
The only negative, which was corrected without any delay, was that I had booked 2 rooms and they were initially charged at different rates, £85 (the correct rate) and £100.
Location and ambience
The hotel was very noisy - music playing at night and very close to trainline.
Restaurant was good
WiFi was patched and worked only periodically. Rooms were hot but opening the window was too load due to proximity of station
