The pool and location. Breakfast service was chaotic: half buffet, half table service. We had to wait nearly 25 mins for some scrambled eggs and toast, long after we had finished our choice from the rest of the buffet. Other tables seemed to be having a similar experience.

The room had been newly refurbished and was very spacious and comfortable. There was a semi seperate part with a sofa and the tv which was a nice touch. The leisure centre was reasonably modern with a good sized swimming pool. It was noisy in the room ( from the kitchens I think ) and a view of a brick wall and a car park. There is a lack of a proper lounge / bar area. The bar was in the restaurant and the reception area is rather large and soulless . The continental breakfast offering was poor ( eg no fresh fruit , only tinned grapefruit)

The bar shut at 10:15 (it was a Monday), and the food was very poor. Went for a medium mixed grill, everything was overdone, and the components were cheap quality

Needed a hotel to cater for teenagers and an semi disabled person. So having a swimming pool with sauna and seam room sorted the teenagers and the ground floor rooms was needed for the semi disabled person. Plenty of parking. Reception staff very friendly and helpful when we had a problem with heat in the room. Disturbed sleep first night due to guests from different wedding returning to their rooms was annoying. Other nights were fine.

The bill. I selected the hotel because it has a reasonable gym (apart form the key things) and a half decent pool. It is in a nice setting, but above all is very reasonably priced. If you get lucky you might get an executive room at standard price. These are reasonable rooms and far better than one might expect for less than £70 a night. The staff are friendly in the main. The food is edible and far better than a meal at the local Holiday Inn. The rooms are very dated and the restaurant menu hasn't changed in years. Food is mediocre but probably as expected for a hotel of this price. The only social bar is in the sports club and they like to clear you out of it pretty early in the night. After this you can sit in reception and order drinks from the desk, but this is hardly a nice way to spend a social evening for a lone traveller. The wireless internet access can be a little varied. Sometimes painfully low bandwidth and sometimes just doesn't work at all. The reception staff can restart the routers, but if this doesn't fix it they have no support during the night.

The setting The hotel room was very dated. There was mould on the bath panel and I thought it was very expensive for room only. The breakfast was very expensive for the portion and I ordered scrambled egg on entering the restaurant but it had not arrived by the time I left. I would not recommend this hotel.

Shower went from boiling hot to freezing cold. Did not have breakfast as felt this vastly overpriced when you also take into consideration cost of the room

Location to our friends. Easy parking. Good size room.Tea tray with a teapot and biscuits. Bathroom was sub standard. The shower dribbled water and was dangerous as water temperature changed from very hot to cold whilst in use. We did not report this as we had already been told by the receptionist that the hotel was fully booked so we could not change rooms. My husband gave up trying to shower. No lift which meant carrying suitcases down 2 flights of stairs. Decorating going on in adjacent rooms with a lot of banging.

I was attending a cousins celebration in Frodsham and the hotel was conveniently nearby. Another cousin and husband also stayed in the hotel and were in the room next to mine, which was even better, although not requested! The room was clean, quiet and just right for the purpose.Thank you.

Good location with fine views. Good spa facilities. Friendly reception staff. Decent sized, well equiped rooms. Reasonably priced. I don't think the restaurant is quite as good as it used to be.

Staff were extremely friendly and poilte on reception. We arrived very early and were allowed to check in regardless which was great. Made use of the facilities (pool, jacuzzi, steam room etc) which were clean and well maintained. Busy during the afternoon but pool was empty first thing in the morning which was lovely. Food in the restaurant was lovely (had the lamb and it was excellent). Overall a lovely stay. When we arrived at the hotel we asked to book a table for the restaurant but when we arrived in the evening there was no reservation for us. We were first in there at half 7 and were seated nowhere near the window (part of the reason we booked was because of the view!) We asked to be moved and were seated closer to the window but still not really able to enjoy the view. Thought this was very strange as we were first there.
