We liked the location just off town centre and a short walk into the forest. The hotel was visually appealing and the staff all helpful. The room was so welcoming when we walked in and comfortable. We loved the indoor pool and the facilities that went with it, shower, towels etc. The dining was an enjoyable experience and I was very pleased to see a vegetarian breakfast on the menu. Squeaky floor boards in the corridor just right by our room and the shower, whilst hot, was more of a dribble. Didn't detract from our enjoyment of the stay.

The location was just enough to be out of the busy centre but close enough to walk to the main drag. The staff were friendly and the room clean. The bed was far too soft we spent most of the night trying to stay out of the middle. Breakfast seemed like a race and plently of hidden cost.

spotlessly clean with an indoor swimming pool and surrounded by the New Forest common land grazed by ponies and cattle. Smart staff made for a relaxing weekend.

The Best Western Forest Lodge was on a par with the other Best Western's we've stayed in on this trip. The bedroom was smaller though, even though we had a deluxe room. The meals were good. The one problem we had with all the Best Westerns though was that these hotels seem more in favour of business conferences than their paying guests. Guest parking was completely full with the vehicles belonging to conference attendees which was frustrating, particularly at Limpley Stoke, where we were forced to park way down a hill at a pub for three nights in a row. The same thing happened at Forest Lodge. Either certain parking needs to be reserved for guests only, or parking areas need to be enlarged. Also, as guests, we were forced to dine in dingy back rooms due to better rooms being used by attendees. This was very disappointing, once again particularly in Limpley Stoke

The location is great, just a five minute walk into Lyndhurst and a lovely pub just next door. The pool was closed when we visited, which was very disappointing as this is the main reason we chose this hotel! The breakfast wasn't great.

Very welcoming and helpful staff, great setting, comfortable room. The breakfast could have been better - not much choice of continental breakfast and coffee not great.

Always friendly staff, just a very pleasant place to stay and a great kitchen. The rooms have no minibar and some of the rooms are small if not too small.

The staff were very helpful, the location was perfect walking distance into town and right next door to a pub.The Family rooms are spacious, modern and clean and the pool was a hit with the kids. Also the quality of the food and service at breakfast was great. I was very pleasently suprised much nicer than I was expecting. We would stay again and recommend this hotel

We wsent to the local dog show. The hotel is vert dog friendly. The dinning room is excellent, The bar passed the kir test! The traffic in Lyndhurst is ubelievably bad, except very early in the morning. Not the hotel's fault, but a feature if its location.

I was disappointed that I had been booked into a twin room when I requested a double room. We asked to change rooms to a double then found the room had no clean towels in it.

The location within Lyndhurst is incredible, I think definitely it is the best part of the hotel. The facilities, staff and breakfast were also ok. It has an in door swimming pool as well very nice. I think the ratio value/money is not good enough. The hotel is ok but I think the price is too much and there is not such a detail that could justify the price, except the location. As example, when we arrive at 1300 (one hour early of the check in) and the staff were not especially friendly, even we had to keep out stuff in the car, no other option was given to us. Sometimes things like that makes the difference!

Great for business, very nice rooms, although a little small. Free internet service which is a great benefit, especially being away for work. I also was really happy with the tv channel selection.

The location was ideal to explore the New Forest. The swimming pool was excellent for children on a rainy day, but it closed without warning on Saturday morning. The cream tea was delicious, but waiting almost an hour for it to arrive seemed excessive. The kitchen staff seemed over stretched so delays were excessive during the breakfast period, and when the food arrived some had clearly been kept in a warmer for a long period.

The swimming pool is lovely, and very clean. No-one in attendance, so no limit on the number of towels. Standard of food at dinner was really high, absolutely excellent, delicious, well balanced dishes, and good to look at. For once, we had no complaints about the standard of lighting in our room- to read in bed, to put on make up. Room could have been a little bigger. Only the Daily Mail in the lounge. Even in summer a little fire burning in the grate would have looked better. The receptionist should have shown us right to our room.

The indoor pool and sauna I don't like the idea that there is no space for complaints on this form. The time for pool opening was 7am. This was not achieved on either of the two mornings we were there. The second morning, 8 minutes late for opening, the staff member said that she had only just arrived at work and was not very friendly.

The hotel is tired and requires upgrading. Poor reading light in the bedroom. Service at breakfast was slow we waited almost an hour , this putting us off having dinner there. We have stayed at better hotels for much less money. We would not return.

Great location for New Forest. Nice room with the best shower ever and a modern 4 poster bed. The restaurant was extortionate. The portions were tiny and the prices ludicrous. Get your food elsewhere. Breakfast was not great either. Poor selection and long wait.
