The shower was a dribble. When we complained we were told it was because the plumbing needed updating and was fed by header tanks in the loft. I asked if there were any rooms with power showers and was told no. My sister stayed at the hotel on our second night and had a lovely shower in her room!!!
Food and location were great.
Could do with a spruce up of decor and carpets. Shower temperature and water flow not steady.
Shower is very poor
Friendly, helpful staff. Great garden.Lovely views.
The bar food and staff were great and the location perfect for walking.
The room was definitely a little tired and the hotel is shabby in places but I understand it is being done up an area at a time.
The bedroom should have two chairs, more shelf space in bathroom In bar you have candles why are they not lit?
Bar area needs more attention to make it more welcoming
Location Friendly staff Dinner and breakfast was very good.
Water stain on ceiling and wall. Shower water that ran hot then cold constantly. Fixtures were dingy white, old ugly wood and rusty chrome - even the taps in the sink were two different types. The floor in the bathroom was completely uneven and the vinyl flooring over it did not fit. Carpet on the stairs was threadbare on almost every step. The stair hand rails really needed wiping with vinegar and water as they were tacky.
Staff friendy.rooms clean and tidy.good breakfast and all diets catered for. I can see that the hotel is in need of investment but at present it is more than good enough foe a short break.
Noisy ceiling extractor fans. Bathrooms need updating and our bed was uncomfortable.
Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Room was a good size and clean. Nice garden view. Excellent shower. Good choice on menu and great food. Excellent breakfast. Location brilliant for walking Would definitely return
Only having time to spend one night!
The location The warm reception from the owner the spacious lobby and very spacious family suites on the top floor The glorious garden
Just one incident - as we arrived after lunch and before supper we ate some some supermarket sandwiches picnic style in the garden . We were immediately asked to leave the garden!
Location: in the heart of the New Forrest. Good size rooms. Ample car parking. Good night sleep. Pleasant, friendly staff.
Tatty and dirty, long overdue refurbishment (dirty carpet, bathrooms tiles fallen off, old mattresses, dated bathroom suite). No food available other than bar snacks after 9pm, partly due to lack of flexibility on the part of the staff.
lovely fresh breakfast nice staff good size room quiet large garden great location
disorganised meal times house wine a bit rough refurbishment is underway and desperately needed restaurant menu is pub fare very lumpy bed
Room decor a bit tired, could do with a updating.
Staff, surrounds, breakfasts & evening meals. The latter are basic but good value and well cooked/presented.
The strip of carpet next to the kitchen needs replacing now - disgusting.
The staff couldn't be more helpful adding a personal touch to a very enjoyable holiday. It's a shame our room wasn't cleaner and the bathroom wasn't so run down, this maybe because we had a dog friendly room this doesn't represent the rest of the hotel
in the forest near everywhere, room 35 lovely family room. staff very friendly. food good. have stayed before and will stay here again
Beautiful location with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Service a little slow at meal times but they were busy. Food excellent.
Bed not very comfortable and our room could do with updating.
Staff were friendly and it was in a good location
Too expensive Water either boiling or freezing. Shower didn't work above waist height Damp on ceiling. solid bed. Very dated, tired looking hotel
Good value and good quality dinner
Very slow service at dinner. Rooms that need renovating Bed not good
Location, ambience, room size
Bathroom wasn't so great although everything worked well. No privacy in ground floor rooms overlooking garden meant we had to keep curtains drawn
Short staff poor room
Beds good Storage ok coffee/tea in room good view from bedroom lovely grounds easy walk to Brockenhurst able to get radio in room
bathroom . Toilet did not flush well Shower poor no space for toiletries Milk for tea/coffee awful
Staff polite and the location, cannot fault. Food is fantastic, local produce fresh and certainly value for money. You feel very welcome and cared for.
Rooms could do with fans or some form of cooling - far to hot for comfort. Clean but shabby. Noise from the bar late at night, not good, drunken arguing from guests at 1.30am. Young Receptionist very defensive when I tried to complain.
Right in the heart of the Forest with a lovely garden area.
A bit dated. Quite expensive for what it offers.
We stay at Forest Park when attending the New Forest Show & have done so many times. It is fairly near the show ground and is very comforatable, staff are very friendly, food is good and varied. Attractive area, good for longer stays.
Parking is a bit dodgy at the moment because of building works
