Score from 371 reviews Good
Coeliac friendly with most obliging staff
The entrance hall with a welcoming open fire and knight in armour was good and the hotel was clean & tidy in a great location. Staff very helpful. As we attended a wedding reception nearby we didn't use the hotel facilities.
the double bed seemed a little small.
The restaurant was very good.
The bed made our backs ache in the morning
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Close to forest walks.
Loved the fact that we were in the middle of the New Forest. Breakfast was very tasty, especially the sausages.
Thought the one night charge of £105 should be £20 less given the quality of the room & bathroom..... both require complete refurbishment.
The location was great for us. We took advantage of the bar food and the service which was excellent and the bed was very comfortable.
The room was a bit tired looking but comfortable.
Great bar & service. Staff really pleasant, only ate breakfast in hotel I would give it 10 out of 10
Receptionist very grumpy
The staff were very friendly and the bar/restaurant was very welcoming. Although we did not eat there, the food we did see served looked very nice! The open fire in the reception hall was also lovely.
I think the only negative is that parts of the hotel are in need of a little TLC. The room we had was a little musty, and some of the hallway walls were suffering from damp with wallpaper starting to peel in places
Convenience of room for dog going outside, +instant dryish path walk round 'garden' from French windows. Helpful attitude to facilities open to pets which influenced my booking.
The radiators struggle to perform/or overheat-sort of lucky dip-until the replacements happen! But helpful response to problem solving..
The fact that it wasn't an ultra modern stainless steal type property but had lots of charm and character. We were told there is a modernisation programme in the pipeline, but we both sincerely hope they don't go over the top and lose any of its charm. A very good freshly cooked breakfast WE'LL BE BACK
none worth mentioning
Friendly staff, lovely log fires, great food, nice busy bar, great Saturday night entertainment in the bar.Nice seeing the horses in the car park throughout the day.
The view from dining room across garden
Rather tired decor/ paper peeling from wall in hallway
Good location Warm rooms (January'15) Helpful staff
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent.
Shower was difficult to adjust
The staff, on the whole were friendly and helpful. I guess due to economics, the receptionist was wearing many hats, which led to delays. This is a Hotel that has lacked investment, it was stated that this was being addressed by the latest owners. The room was clean and the food very good.
The bed, room 108 was small and very uncomfortable
difficulty in adjusting heating, making the room too hot for comfort
Location - Brockenhurst is a pleasant Forest town and the hotel itself is literally on the edge of the Forest Food - the meal we ate in the restaurant was superb and very well priced considering the quality. Breakfast was good although could have been a slightly wider range on the buffet Entertainment - ok so a one off as New Year but the band and fireworks were perfect, not over the top and very much of the 'local pub' type. We would definitely come back next year if the same Staff - without exception everyone we met, spoke to or dealt with were friendly, helpful and courteous General ambience and decor of entrance hall, you don't see so many suits of armour in hotels these days ; )
£99 per room without brekkie was very good value for New Years Eve, not so sure during the rest of the year though Some parts of the hotel look a little unloved and in need of decoration but apparently a refurb programme is under way (our room was prefectly acceptable for the price) Reviews - some of the reviews are a little off putting, my suggestion is you ignore them, pay Forest Park Hotel a visit and judge for yourself, I think you will have a very pleasant experience
Was cold due to main radiator not working. Room did come with a little electric one but it didn't look very safe so did not leave on over night.
The staff was courteous enough in their greeting and managing my luggage before I could check in.
I did not stay for long.it was just a night's stopover, however the check in and checkout timings are odd....I get to check in by 3 and next morning by 11am I am out of the hotel...seems unfair for the price.
Location room size view garden restaurant and lounges
Damp on walls small bath water not so hot internet not working in our room only downstairs breakfast more expensive than was stated on phone
When you walk in a lovely fire and a totally different experience from what you expect outside. This property has so much potential and while improvements are going on I suggest some speeding up. Made to feel most welcome and would have liked to stay longer.
Returning in foot in the evening I was surprised there was no sign lights on. Not tempting enough for the customer from the outside. Get people in and then you will start building business. Appalled at the unkept appearance outside. Sweep leaves up and make the entrance inviting !!!
very good staff
Very tired accommodation
Reception staff were very helpful and attentive.
Poor lighting throughout. Slow service in the bar. Poor water pressure made room shower very difficult to adjust.
