The staff were very friendly and the location was excellent. The food also was good The decor of the room was awful. stains on the carpet and the bedspread, awful lampshades, which made room very dark, room next to extractor fan, which was noisy. no guest soaps or tissues. furniture looked very old and battered.

Receptionist kept us waiting to book in while she was on the phone. Waiting staff ok. Room was "Tatty" Bathroon had chipped tiles, leaking shower hose, mould on bathroom ceiling and the bathwater was very slow to run hot. The hotel was very "old fassioned" Food was average pork overcooked and breakfast eggs were hard boiled.

Lovely location. Public areas OK. Excellent breakfasts. The lady running the restaurant, bar, reception etc was new and very helpful and efficient. In all, a lot of money needs to be spent to bring this hotel up to scratch - given its location it could be wonderful. Bedrooms very 'tired' and in dire need of redecoration - paper peeling from ceiling, carpet needed cleaning. Very little storage space so had to leave most things in suitcase. Staff helpful when approached, but we had to ask for items such as toilet rolls, tea, sugar - even a glass for the bathroom, which should be provided automatically (staff training issue or lack of finance?)

The hotel has very nice secluded grounds and looks out onto the New Forest. We were disappointed that the bar did not serve sparkling wine or champagne by the glass.

The location was ideal, quietly situated but within easy walking distance of the village amenities. Also being able to take walks with the dog straight from the hotel. The hotel was chosen partly because a dog was accepted. The room offered was very cold and had mould up the walls. The windows were streaming with condensation. The sliding door to the en-suite appeard to be hanging only from the top and not secured at the bottom. There was a lot of dirt on the carpet along the side of the bed where it had not been vacuumed properly and there were dirty marks on the quilt cover, sheet and valance. I requested a change of room which was arranged immediately. The second room was a huge improvement. However the shower only operated from the hot tap and just the slightest amount of cold water immediately made the shower totally cold. The bath handle was falling off . The hook on the back of the bathroom door was hanging off. We would not have wanted to stay a third night.

The location was excellent The furniture in the rooms was old and tired, The bathroom hasn't seen lick of paint in many years and it can't be that difficult to replace the broken tiles around the bath. I appreciate that we're coming out of a recession and the hotel industry has been really hit but the owners need to pay attention to the basics. The food was appalling, thankfully we only had breakfast. There were too many guests for the limited staff to cope. A buffet style approach would have relieved the long waiting periods to be served. At £99 for a single room per night, its hard to justify holidaying in the uk when the food is poor and rooms pretty dreary.

Its was convenient to the establishments I had to visit in the Brockenhurst area. Some parts could do with tidying up and a lick of paint.

We go to the New Forest frequently and we were delighted to be able to stay in the heart of the Forest without having to travel home. The team were very caring, friendly, helpful and approachable. 10 out of 10 for the staff and we will be back as soon as we can.

Premium room and location were lovely. A few little things really took the edge of the place. Breakfast was average, had to ask for replacement showergel (was very low when we arrived and was not refilled by the staff on the second day), cleaners left other people's rubbish behind! Just a few easy wins and there wouldn't be any issues.

As we got married in this Hotel, I love the location of the hotel it is in walking distance to the village pubs restaurants and shops and you can go horse riding from the stables next door. If you want to take your dog the hotel is very dog friendly. I would like the hotel to be updated looks very dated now.

Forest Park has all the facilities of much more expensive hotels and has a very friendly atmosphere. It is well located, being only a 5 minute walk from the railway station and the shopping area. There are several very good restaurants and good pubs all within easy walking distance.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the welcoming log fire was lovely on a cold day. The decor and ambiance were good. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the night porter(?) who served us drinks and turned the fire back on in the bar when we returned after a night out. Our room was ample size and comfortable. The breakfast was well cooked and hot with a good choice of foods. We were very impressed that on discovering that our radiator didn't work, a replacement fan heater was delivered immediately. Just one thing - our bed was two singles pushed together to make a double (which we had specifically requested), but it was not at all comfortable to sleep on as the two beds kept separating under the sheet.

Comfortable and quiet We were disappointed with the en-suite which was small and a partitioned area in the main room. When booking through Bookingcom, I though you showed a room with large bay windows but the room we had was nothing like that.

Wonderful location right in the New Forest on the outskirts of Brockenhurst. Open fire in the bar. Minimal but efficient staff. Comfortable bedroom of good size. The king size bed was a bit too firm for our liking, but otherwise everything was all right.

“The staff were very attentive. The location of the hotel was fantastic, it was lovely to have a dual apect room with one set of windows overlooking the front gardens and the other looking out over farmland. It was an extremely peaceful place to stay. Breakfast was excellent. Very clean and comfortable. Would definately stay there again.” Martin, Trowbridge |
