I found the staff very friendly and helpful. My room was clean comfortable and spacious. It was a little difficult finding my room. And it was quite a distance from the main area.

I liked the 5 star treatment I received as soon as I reached reception, there was a young lady on there I think her name was Aimee and she couldn't make walking in to the building any more friendly, Thank you. There was nothing during my stay I didn't like.

Overall comfort level was good. Comfortable beds, warm room. The breakfast was delicious. Availability of swimming pool and spa facilities. Decoration in need of a little TLC in most areas. Had a vague lived-in feel, especially in the bathroom. Service was a little sluggish. Waited a long time for food and to make orders in the restaurant even though it was not particularly busy. Hate those toast making machines! Would prefer toast to be served with the beverages.

Pleasant enough staff. Comfortable room. Good varied and substantial breakfast. The water from the taps was disgusting. I would normally expect complimentary water in the rooms but there was none. I know something about tea and this has to be the worst I have tasted in a long time. The coffee may be excellent but not everyone wants it. This is more important than you would imagine. It makes the difference between being recommended to friends and not, especially since my friends also appreciate quality tea.... and real ale. The only ale available was in the main hotel bar and there was only Black Sheep. the widget was missing off the tap so we waited ten mins, then the barrel ran out so we waited another ten minutes. All this time missing the England v New Zealand rugby game in the Golf Bar, because that bar has no ale at all. Poor show we thought, but the main issue was the noise. We went for a quiet weekend and were put in the corridor leading to the Christmas events. We were still being woken up at 2am by revellers cruising the corridors. I won't be booking Forest Pines again. You have lost the personal touch which once made you so good.

Had a wonderful stay with my wife and family at this lovely will run and managed hotel. the facilities ie the gym, swimming pool, sauna are excellent and impecably clean. The rooms are well presented and very cosy. All the staff are friendly and always available to assist. Free parking, an ultra luxurious restaurant and a well stocked bar are big on my hotel checklist. This one has it all. I will definately use Forest Pines again should the need arise.

The comfort of the room Front of house staff friendly Shortage of tea/coffee/water facilities - not enough for one night stay! Toiletries were also lacking - 2 bars of miniature soap but only one shower gel? 1857 restaurant promoted as high class but plates chipped, food cold, soufflé empty shell and though staff friendly they are not pro-active at asking if meal is ok, asking if customers want more drinks, reminding customers veg is not included (useful as most menus include veg) etc.. Would recommend hotel but not 1857 restaurant.

Not much, unfortunately it is the only halfway decent hotel in the area Reception staff give the impression of being robots, same applies to restaurant, except for one young waitress (Claire). Just don't ask for anything which is not in their training manuals.

The hotel has a lovely feel combining luxury and comfort with friendliness. It's the second time I've stayed and I loved it both times. It's also very handy for the motorway network, yet set in the countryside.

I was upgraded to a beautiful room with a four poster bed and a huge bathroom with enormous tub. Loved it! Despite late arrival due to traffic I was still able to get food - which was delicious. Also great breakfast. I didn't have the chance to visit the spa but hope I will be able to do so at my next stay. Some stuff very friendly and helpful. My welcome wasn't very warm. Rge recsptionist was very detached and businesslike. I was shattered from a very long travel and would have liked some warmth and a personal welcome. Also when I had asked at the bar whether there was some food available other than room service (which I hate because I don't like eating in my room) and he had kindly arranged for me to go through to the restaurant the woman there looked at me as if I had breached some unspoken code of conduct. Fortunately the person who had agreed to serve me a meal then arrived on the scene and made up for her unfriendliness.

Convenient location Plenty of parking Large, clean bedroom Appalling service - large queue on check-in with one receptionist handling the checking-in and two others fiddling round a computer oblivious to the queue. Terrible food and service in the Sports Bar - burnt the food, had to be reminded several times to bring condiments, etc.

The Eighteen restaurant was not open on the Sunday night of bank holiday weekend the grills.rest.was not able to give us a table until 21.45 despite my son being 12. We were told by the restaurant manager to eat in the bar or go to the Pines bar to eat. There was nowhere to sit in the bar it was so full up , my son and I walked to the pines it was full as well.this was about 20.00 hrs. In the end we had room service.I ordered chilli and got spaghetti instead I didn't complain as by now it was 21.30 .On Monday night we ate in grills rest. I was disappointed with choice ,mainly burgers.I had lamb which was very nice, but the service was very slow.we had asked for a table at20.00 and was told to get drinks from the bar, I was with my 12 yr.old son.we got our dessert about 22.15 the service was so slow I had to ask several times for water and waited ages for my glass of wine.the staff were always really friendly and helpful .I was planning to mention my difficulties when I checked out but the receptionist didn't even bother to ask if Iwe had had a nice stay, let alone had any problems.I think for a 4star hotel these issues need to be addressed.
