Fort D'auvergne HotelHavre Des Pas, JE2 4UQ Saint Helier Jersey (Show map) Very good, Score from 51 reviews“The Staff, without exception, were superb.. polite, helpful.. nothing was too much trouble. Super breakfast and I loved the pool (nice relaxing swim)”
Gerald,
Burnley
The Fort d'Auvergne hotel is a quality establishment, built on the site of a maritime fort that once guarded St Helier. Bordered on 2 sides by the sea and sandy beach, the 'Fort' as it is often lovingly termed, is the ideal location for your Jersey vacation. The 'Fort' is an established informal hotel with indoor pool and an ideal sea-front location. The hotel has long had an excellent reputation for offering a good range of modern accommodations, coupled with the attentive service that you would expect from a Morvan Family Hotel. The easy walk to the center of town only takes 10 minutes, but there is also a bus service available outside the hotel's front door, with frequent service to the center of town, museums and harbor, etc. Hotel Rooms: 65, Hotel Chain: Morvan Hotels.

Its location. Very helpfull staff. Good breakfast. This Hotel is a little dated, requires updating Soon. The First rooms we were given were Rooms 40 and 41, the doors to these rooms should be blocked and forgotten about, they were small poorly furnished with Tiny en suites and the view over the flat roof into the inner yard was dreadfull. We asked for a room change and Thanks to the staff who were very helpfull, and kindly moved us to rooms overlooking the sea, with much more space and comfort. Recommend rooms 26 to 29. It would be a shame to see this Hotel close, but I fear that unless a big refurbishment it not done soon, it may. It cannot rely on the efforts of the staff alone. We probably will return to this Hotel, knowing which rooms to book helps.

Very good food; we had half board with dinner every night. Friendly polite staff. Good swimming pool, refreshing after long cliff walks. Excellent bus service throughout the island; bus stop outside the hotel

The staff, position, service, and cleanliness of the hotel all excellent. The tea and coffee making in the hotel replenished and maid/cleaner were all very good. The only negative is that the walls are very thin and you can hear peoples conversations throught them!

The Staff, without exception, were superb.. polite, helpful.. nothing was too much trouble. Super breakfast and I loved the pool (nice relaxing swim) Absolutely no complaints, you deserve a much hugher rating than 2 star! Wife would have preferred a hair drier in the room... (women!!!!), although they were readily available at Reception

The resturant has good sea views. The breakfast was a hot and cold buffet type and was excellent. In general the hotel was clean and tidy. Jersey accomodation is generally expensive so whilst I have said value was fair it is about the general market price for this type of accomodation. The hotel staff were excellent The Hotel is rather dated and appears to still be in the 1970s. However this is typical of other Jersey hotels we have stayed in and is not necessarily a bad thing. The beds are soft and in general below the standard expected for the price. Again for the price paid it was disappointing to only have a shower and no bath. TV in the room was an old small CRT type and only had five channels. Very little sound proofing to the rooms and you could hear adjacent occupants clearly

Fantastic staff. Very friendly and professional. Any issues were addressed as soon as raised and met beyond our expectations. Food, menu and service were first class. Credit to the management of the hotel who's staff follow his example of exceptional customer service.

The staff were courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean. The pool was very pleasant if over chlorinated. The location is excellent. The showers in the rooms produced a feeble drip of luke-warm water. This was reported by all of the party. This is a shame because our experience of the hotel was in every other respect very favourable.

The location was amazing, the staff were exceptionally friendly and the facilities were lovely with lots of character. The view at breakfast was especially beautiful. Definitely not a negative in our opinion, but the average age of the other guests was about 65. It is a fantastic hotel with loads of personality but not somewhere suitable for young party people.

We enjoyed having the use of a very good size swimming pool which was never busy, in fact we used it every day of our stay. The staff were all very pleasant and on hand. The General Manager Philip was there every day even popping in on his day off. The room was a good size and clean, and every day it was cleaned and freshened up. Only complaint would be that there is only one shower in both Ladies and Gents changing rooms when using the pool, so if more than one person left the pool someone or maybe more would have to wait to shower. As it was we never encountered that problem but it could happen.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The food was great and in plentiful supply. We had a lovely first time holiday in jersey. Whilst the rooms were modest, they were spotlessly clean and more than adequate. My only two slight criticisms would be the showers were very basic in the rooms and the lack of parking for a hire car at the hotel during the daytime was inconvenient. Our rooms were on the ground floor and had the sun loungers right outside the patio doors. Very handy!

the position was superb. the ambience was relaxed. it was not pretentious. the staff were very helpful there was a wide range of ages at the hotel so everyone felt comfortable. There was nothing I did not like. the hotel is not the most luxurious ever - but it's position, the frinedly staff and the basic good housekeeping means I will certainly visit again

Breakfast The room booked was a twin but we were given a double which was very small. We were two adults, mother & daughter and the bed was very small, I wouldn't have classed it as a double bed. There was only inches between the the end of the bed and the dressing table. The room we were given after complaining was a very nice proper double room. I don't think the first room could accommodate two people, I don't why it was offered as a double room.

The location was good, not so far from the city centre and the harbour. Secondly, the view of the sea was nice (we only enjoyed it while having a breakfast at the restaurant, for room with sea view you would have to pay extra). It was really too old and the smell in our room was as in hospital. We booked a double room for two adults and we found a double bed in the room, which was ok, however there also was a double-deck bed, really old and it felt like we were sleeping in a loft with unwanted furniture.
