everything was up to high standard i loved the room it was so warm and cosy the breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from the owners were friendly and very helpful i would definatley come back again

We were met by the owner and he was very friendly. He took us up to the room and it was bright and airy and had a lovely view of the harbour as promised. We were on a short visit and had to be up early the next day and he agreed to do breakfast half an hour earlier for us. Breakfast was very tasty. We both felt very welcome and very comfortable during our stay. I would definitely go there again. Excellent.

Really friendly and engaging hosts, Maggie and Mike amongst the nicest and friendliest of people I've met. Lovely, spacious and well appointed accommodation with super comfy bed, roomy bathroom and excellent breakfast. Good location, plenty of good eateries and watering holes close by. About a 10 minute flat walk from Gunwharf Keys for outlet shopping in an airy, but covered environment.

Fortitude Cottage is situated in Old Portsmouth, a stone throw away from the very impressive Gunwharf Quay. Maggie and Mike Hall were very welcoming and were extremely helpful from the time we made the booking until our departure. The breakfast was excellent and we would recommend this guest house to anyone.

Good value, comfortable and excellent breakfast

Mike and Maggie are two of the nicest people I have ever met, and definitely the nicest hosts! Everything is comfortable and clean and the breakfast is delicious! The rooms are way more than what you pay for, and the beds are heavenly. It is amazing I was able to afford a place as nice as this as a student.

The rooms were spotlessly clean with good quality furnishings. The owners, Maggie & Mike were very friendly and provided an excellent breakfast. Early check-in times mean that you don't have to lose a day, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of both the Harbour and Southsea with all that they have to offer. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

Nothing - but if I was being picky it would be nice to offer conditioner along with the shampoo and a larger safe able to fit an ipad/computer (although we had no worries about leaving valuables in our room - felt safe & secure)

Great atmosphere. Excellent food. Excellent hosts. Within walking distance to food, transportation and shopping.

Although the bathroom was exclusive, it was not in the room. We had to lock and unlock the bathroom door. Minor problem.

Ce BB est très bien situé pour la visite de la tour Spinaker et des musées mais aussi pour l'hovercraft pour l'île de Wight. Nous avons séjourné dans une des deux chambres de la nouvelle extension qui est très confortable. Excellent petit déjeuner. Stationnement aisé pour ceux qui circulent en voiture.
