Friendly Staff & good location for the pleasure beach and the Sandcastle Waterpark.
Dirty Room and stains on towels. Only option was continental breakfast, did miss a full English. Room not like the picture on the internet. Some mold on the walls. Things to improve, give the place a good spring clean before the busy season.
Staff were really nice and welcoming. They asked us to move to another double room which was nicer and they offered us an extra day to stay for free.
Ensuite in room 10 too tiny and the walls were paper thin you could hear next doors conversation and when people were going into their rooms you thought they were trying to get into the room you are staying in
The bed was comfy and clean and place was nice and warm. The staff very friendly
The shower was dated I wouldn't use it and damp patches in en-suite. If updated it would be perfect hotel.
We decided to return to Blackpool for Valentine's day and chose to stay once again at the Fortuna House Hotel. And once again we were treated in a very hospitable way, the staff were extremely polite and without asking them to, carried our bags up to our very spacious room. The bed was comfortable and clean. The shower was hot and the water pressure was very good. Overall, we encountered no problems. An excellent guest house in a good location! Will definitely stay again!
Good location, free wifi allowed us to look up local restaraunts and activities and watch movies online so very fast connection. Helpful and friendly staff. All the facilities you need for a short trip (and clean).
Only down side is other guests who may have stayed for nights out in blackpool- very noisy and was woken up a few times. Can't be helped though!
We received a text to say last check in was 9pm, when I called the hotel the staff were very helpful and said that it was ok that we were running a little late. Good distance from the beach.
The room was very hot even with windows open and we were unable to turn down the heating. Floorboards in room above were very noisy. And the shower was very small and appeared to need a good clean.
Freeview TV although was tiny.
We weren't expecting to be staying in the Hilton for the price we paid however what we got was the complete opposite and not worth the money we paid! Reasons why; Cold; we had a heater that the staff asked to have back! Noisy; banging and can hear talking through the paper thin walls. Pipes making noises at random times. Dirty; dusty bathroom. Dark/Dull; lighting Mouldy bathroom Stained bed sheets! Yuck!! Thin duvet meant that we bought an extra fleece blanket whilst in town to keep warm during the night. No communication from the one member of staff/ manager that we saw- asked for payment, carried bags to room and handed over keys. We weren't even asked how our stay was at the end if our visit. Can hear everything going on outside- single glazed windows. Smells of smoke!! Even though the rooms are none smoking. Decor is dated. Woken up at 3am due to next door having sex- head board banging against the wall, could hear their bathroom fan. Shower; Second day shower was nothing but warm water. Awful!
Not far to walk to all the attractions and had no problems parking the car and really like the view off the Blackpool tower
Would have been nice if they did a full English breakfast in the morning
We arrived at the hotel after contacting the hotel as we didnt know where it was located the hotel is situated in a poor location, as we checked in at the fortuna hotel we was told that a reservation fee of £24.99 was taken till we paid for our stay .the fee of 24.99 was held in a holding account. I then contacted my bank to see where my money was held they told me it was in a holding account withch only the managers bank can only release when contacted by the hotel .I then informed the hotel manager to tell him what he had to do .I booked 3 nights paid in cash for 2and the money what was in the holding account paid for the 3rd night .but he tried at 1st for us to pay in full 75 but because we contacted our bank as we was there he had no option to use and release for our 3rd night.people should be aware of this !!
could have given the room a dust dust in bottom of wardrobe and drawers shelf etc don't think room had seen a cleaner for quite a while
The room was spotless and beautifully decorated, not too cramped and plenty of wardrobe space & drawers. Very comfortable bed and lovely lounge downstairs with big tv
thought i was getting the room pictured on booking.com, instead of a single bed i got bunk beds & it was impossible to see the tv properly when laid down on either bed. infact the only way to see the tv properly was to stand in front of it.
Price and location
Very small bathroom, could have been cleaner
nothing to say much but very relaxed holiday ,we also enjoy our stay in this hotel.
Perfect holiday for short period. the location of hotel is in perfect distance from the pleasures beach. The hotel was clean and tidy. We also enjoyed the comfortable room. The owner was friendly and helpful.
Its held in a good place in good area peace full peopls around there
Nothing, we only stayed because we paid. The one member of staff was very helpful though and polite.
Everything apart from the staff member himself. The bed was so uncomfortable, broken furniture, two lights weren't working, not enough bedding it was too cold, everything can be heard through the walls, the room was extremely dusty which made my asthma play up a little, the place was dirty and unkept.
I booked 4 rooms and they were all on different floors that meant my gran children were all on different floors and when we arrived the proprietor was talking with a woman /wife in a different language and there wasn't any communication with us not enjoy your stay etc:-( or something else we go to Blackpool every year and try different places to stay but it will be self catering flats next time at least we will have breakfast there not continental either which was the only choice we had:-(
I liked the staff at the place and also the breakfast was very nice as well. The beds were very comfy
location of the place is too far from everything so you have to walk miles to get anywhere. The view from the room wasn't great either. On arriving we could have been informed more on things like if you run out of things and if we had not asked about breakfast we would not have been told what was what.
Location was good.
Rooms were cramped. Shower was mouldy and didn't work. Ensuite was tiny and door gave you no privacy. Walls were paper thin and other guests were noisey. Back was falling off wardrobe. Whole place was dated and dirty. Wifi didn't work.
Uncomfy beds, noisy guests, bed sheets had stains and bits in them. Shower had grout all over the floor
closeness of the hotel to everything the shop were very near by and it was only a 5min walk to the sea front
the room we had was very small for two adults as it was basically a extra bedroom for a family room and had I known I would have booked a different hotel there was no plug for the sink to have a wash
Was clean just a little dated for me was warm and cosy manager was very welcoming will use this B and B again
I went with my family , it was close to South train staion , n sea side , every thing was perfect , enjoyed the breakfast to .
The bed was very soft and comfy Good greeting from the owner
No hooks in the Bathroom for towels. water coming in from the window when shut which was coming onto the bed when it was raining. The room was small and did not reflect the pictures. Rooms in the bigger Hotels were the same price for the sunday night so we wish we had gone up market which was easy as we were at the bottom. Not impressed at all. sorry;
