Nice big room and bathroom
Breakfast poor seemed short on supplies. Bit dusty and dirty in common areas.
We came to this hotel after being extremely let down by a previous one and it was so much more than we could ever have expected. The staff were so polite and friendly. The hotel room was spacious and the bed was so comfy! The food in the restaurant was amazing!! Would definitely return to this hotel if we were ever in that area again.
quiet views huge comfortable bed food was excelent staff attentive without being inobtrusive relaxed atmosphere.
Room and bed were comfortable. Dinner was very good-everything well cooked and plenty of choice. The full English breakfast was also enjoyable. Hotel is in a good location for visiting Stow on the Wold and Burton -on -The- Water
There were small areas of mould in the shower cubicle. We had quite a long wait for our cooked breakfast. Not much choice for the continental breakfast
Food was excellent
Wifi poor in room
Excellent location, lovely garden area and staff friendly. Information in room advised of a recent refurbishment but found it to be poorly done especially velvet or felt covers on chair and stool in room which were stained, would recommend wipe able furniture. Would advise a bell on reception as upon arrival nobody present could hear someone in bar area but could not see them to gain their attention and was waiting some time to be greeted and checked in. Overall we are glad we only paid a reduced price and not the full price for our room which was a standard double room as would have been very disappointed with standard on offer if we had.
Fly problem at the time of our stay in all areas of hotel rooms, corridors, bar area including at breakfast so had to select cereals in packets as opposed to uncovered cereals and fruit selection which was annoying having to guard our food and fend flies off. Don't have scrambled eggs worst I have tasted in a long time! Was put off choosing to eat at the restaurant due to dishes being left in garden area for a number of hours (visible from our room) including a bowl of uncovered sugar cubes provided when tea or coffee is ordered, common sense would advise for the sugar to be provided with a lid especially for out doors and in light if fly issue. Advice to hotel cleaning staff to hoover stairs more frequently and no need to replace soap daily for same guests waste of stock.
We paid for a superior room but only got a standard
Food was very good and so were the waiting staff. Location was lovely. This was our second stay and just a few little tweeks would make this hotel amazing!!!!!!
Receptionist was very unprofessional and not familiar with the general running of the hotel. Rooms need a thorough clean and general update. Pillows were terrible!!!! Outside was shabby and very untendered.
Our second stay at Fosse after a very memorable and enjoyable visit four years ago. A beautiful and romantic place to be, we actually got engaged while staying here. The rooms are lovely, big comfortable beds and lots of nice additions to the room.
There was a wedding function on the night we were there, and unfortunately we hadn't been told that this meant the restaurant and bar would be closed for the evening. It wasn't the end of the world but it meant a bit of last minute re-shuffling for the proposal!
Staff,location,room and other visitors.
Main course food only average-for the money should be better
location was good for surrounding area
we received an e mail the day before visiting asking us to book a table for the evening meal only then to phone up and be advised the restaurant was closed on sunday nights, in general the condition of the hotel was very poor and was in need of a makeover the nightly charge for the room was far in excess for what we expected for a hotel in the condition that we found it in and the location
The food was good, both dinner and breakfast.Dinner menu gave plenty of choice.Staff individually pleasant and did not function as a team.
White wine served warm and mediocre quality.Noise from the kitchen extractor fan in room number 7 was totally unacceptable and spoilt our stay.Staff oblivious to the discomfort. We would not stay here or recommend the hotel because of this.
Food was excellent
My room was very small and draughty. Room 21
very poor shower almost unuseable!
We enjoyed everything. The staff were especially helpful and the food was excellent. The bedroom was spacious and well appointed.
We brought bicycles and were able to park them in our own private little garden. Also the surrounding area was very pretty. The room was clean and comfortable and lovely to come back to after a hard day's sight-seeing.
Nothing other than possibly that the orange juice at breakfast tasting like it was made "from concentrate" rather than fresh.
Beautiful authentic historic stone manor with lovely grounds. Large bedroom nicely decorated, with a king sized bed, unfortunately it was not as comfortable as it looked! Hugh period bathroom. Plenty of off-street parking. Breakfast was excellent.
We asked for a quiet room however; after trying to get to sleep for an hour & half due to loud talking, I got dressed at midnight & went around the hotel to see where it was coming from, I had thought it was from the bedroom next door. I walked outside the hotel & all the bedrooms were in darkness. I finally found it was coming from the bar below our bedroom, around the back & in the corner were a group of staff sitting at a table chatting. When I spoke to a staff member, he came up to our room to check it was not coming from somewhere else; my husband was in bed when he came in. He apologised & said the staff would move outside to talk. I then spent another couple of hours trying to get to sleep after all this. I was Shattered the next morning. Hotel has bad soundproofing & no double glazing. The bed was big but not comfortable and it squeaked every time we moved, the pillows were lumpy. WiFi was very slow.
Lovely large room. Quiet. Lovely gardens. Plentiful breakfast.
Poor internet access.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The meals we ate there were great. The setting was lovely.
We weren't able to access wi-fi in our room. It wasn't functioning properly, but it did work in the lobby.
