Staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was excellent
difficult to find when satnav was not working
Friendly staff who did everything asked of them, excellent service and food.
Very convenient for shopping. Nice room although as I have poor leg use I would have preferred less stairs. Enjoyed the stay even so. Great food. Would stay again if in the area. Many thanks.
The stairs. That's all
Room very comfortable, bathroom well appointed at spacious.
Room right at the top with lots of stairs and turns to get to it. Had to also go through the restaurant to get to the room. Limited parking available.
Very convenient to town centre Good base for touring.Food very good . Staff very helpful.
Bedroom was rather small
The breakfast ! Warm friendly and flexible staff
Well appointed, comfortable, pleasantly surprised in a modern bijou format. Staff very friendly and attentive. Definitely worth another visit!
Nothing to dislike at all.
The staff were brilliant they were all prepared to go the extra mile. A lovely hotel in a great location. Breakfast was fabulous. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Thank you for a great weekend.

Top quality small hotel. Fantastic rooms with great quality finishings. Great value. Dinner in restaurant really good food at great value. Highly recommended.
Wifi a little slow but worked.
The food was excellent. Room was very clean
Room was a bit small
contemporary friendly feel, location, good supper and fine breakfast.
Room rather small and window opened onto terrace where early morning smokers fumes wafted in
The location gave us the best of Penrith's restaurants and bars whilst being close to the Lakes and Hadrian's Wall. Good cocktails are served here too!
Lack of parking for the car. On Sundays it is free but you are at the mercy of town car parks to stay at Foundry 34.
The room is very well presented with a very comfortable bed. The shower was excellent! We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely - especially the creme brûlée! Breakfast was hot, tasty and well presented :)
Just be aware that the hotel is in the middle of Penrith & the nightclubs kick out at about 3am! Our room was at the front of the building & we were able to see & hear everything! Quite entertaining actually!
The staff were polite and helpful The food was amazing The room was clean and the bathroom was amazing
The WiFi was patchy
Rooms were reasonably modern and comfortable, staff were friendly, excellent location.
The room I thought was a little expensive for what it was, although contained everything I required if I was staying there for more than one night would have like a little more space.
Room was very nice
Noise as we were in a room at the back and there was a lot of traffic.
Your food was good but to to wait almost an hour it a bit to much.My son And I are both chefs and good ones at that! so we know what we are talking about. We would have loved to see your kitchen but didn't want to cause any trouble! We made this trip to Penrith because I was born there and lived in Nickolsanlane. We vistied all my relations and had agood time. The weather being perfect!!!!!!!
no hooks,eg for wet coats,no glas for toothbrush.Noroom for a chair in single room. Our breakfast table wasonly on our last morning set for three! Where was the good English marmalade? and we would have loved some rolls!
Great welcome and nice to see a small independent business doing things do professionally
No negatives - they couldn't have done better
Location is good being in city centre. Hotel is nicely decorated with good facilities
Our room was unbelievable hot in the evening The staff although nice never asked how our stay was at check out we were expected just to leave the hotel with no formal check out. I booked the superior room but on arrival was booked into a deluxe room unfortunately I didnt actually pick up on this until I checked my booking at home.a bit annoying as I paid extra for the extra room of a superior
Penrith is not a touristy town and it is on the eastern edge of the Lake District. The Foundry made an excellent home base for exploring the area. There is the main bus station right outside your door which also has a car park where it is free of charge from 6pm to 8am.
Negatives are that there is a club next door. I only heard them one night and it's ok for me because I'm not an early to bed person but I could see that being a problem if you got a room that was adjacent and were a sensitive sleeper.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff, quality of food.
Room a bit small - a chair would have been useful.
The food in particular was excellent quality and price. The room was clean and fresh.
The noise in the morning from deliveries to businesses nearby. But it is in the middle of town and we were warned before we stayed. No other complaints
Nice rooms and a great breakfast
Breakfast and the room
The size of the room Noisy music at night
