Very poor value for money. The hotel bar is wholly unattractive, restaurant is poor and the general hotel decor and upkeep is terribly dated. For £115 per night, which is £10 more than I pay for the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London, I had expected alot more.

Good location. Excellent breakfast and well presented dinner. Friendly and helpful receptionist. Returning at the end of a day to find our room had not been serviced. Tired furnishings - bathroom in need of update.

Excellent room, very clean and comfortable, with superb bathroom facilities. Dining experience was particularly good; with food excellently presented, modestly priced and of high quality. Proximity to the Cathedral and the shopping centre was a bonus, with plenty of parking space in the hotel grounds. Would definitely book again!

Free parking on site. City center location. Period building. Strict book in at 1400 and book out at 1100 policy. Noisy pipes knocking in the night. £4 charge for using credit card to pay!!!!! Restaurant expense not matched by quality. Ordered salmon steak, got a salmon fillet. Would recommend 5 minute walk to Saffron instead. Breakfast is expensive and limited, when considering the amount of good value establishments serving breakfast from 0800 in a short walk.

Good sized room - facilites and decor a little 'tired' but wholly acceptable for the budget / discount price paid. Lovely smelling bed linen. Great breakfast buffet. Peculiar person manning reception - not praticularly friendly - or helpful. In contrast the staff manning the breakfast buffet were excellence personified!

Well located for city and good value for money. In evening the bar and restaurant seemed to lack atmosphere and were uninviting.

After reading reviews was not sure l had made a good booking, how wrong l was. Staff great, especially Sonia on reception. Breakfast was very nice, evening meal was great. Yes, furniture was a bit well worn but to me was homely and just added character to the hotel. Room was clean and beds very comfortable and spotless. Bathroom was a good size. City centre only a couple of minutes away. Had a fabulous three night stay and can't wait to go back. In no way spoilt our break but power showers would be great and also free wi fi. Did not feel happy giving my card details to a company l didn't know and also was not able to get a table of charges. Had to purchase newspapers etc which l pay to have downloaded onto my iPad.

Very close to city centre; free parking on hotel site. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were given a free upgrade to a suite. Although the rooms were comfortable I think they (or at least the one we were in) are due for a re-furb: some of the furniture was a bit shabby, backroom basin was cracked.
